Nurses are for single payer just like trial lawyers are for more lawsuits. Increasing public liability for others' poor health decisions, in a country with a 34% obesity rate, is pretty damn good job security. Enough is enough already...
This nurse drank the happy juice. She knows nothing about history or how money works. Just more of the same immature thinking -- "If we all pay a little more, then everybody will be happy, blah, blah, blah..." I wonder if she even KNOWS or has even thought about the details of how single-payer would even work.
showmehustle stated that all people would pay for their own healthcare. BULLSHIT. Obama the communist stated that people who cannot afford health insurance would get it for free, which means other Americans would be forced to pay for it.

This nurse is a bimbo. Her opinion is that taxpayers should be forced to pay the medical bills of people with heart disease even though heart disease in PREVENTABLE. Instead of forcing people to pay others' bills, she should be encouraging people to exercise and watch their weight so they don't get heart in disease in the first place! But hey, why act responsibly when you can abuse your body and make other pay your bills.
What if those people have to work 10- 12 hours a day, and then have to take care of their children? But , yeah its all their fault that they got heart disease. What about the billions of taxpayer dollars Bush wasted in Iraq? Have you read about single payer healthcare? Do you how much money is wasted ecause of our healthcare now? more than you could imagine.
Yes, in most in cases, it IS THEIR FAULT for having heart disease. They overeat and do not exercise. And YOU want crooked politicians to FORCE other Americans to pay their medical bills.
"It is the job and duty of the federal government to make sure that each and every american has health coverage"
Man, I TOTALLY remember reading that in the constitution of the United States. HA.
We owe it to the founding fathers of our country to honor their wishes for the nation they fought, died, and killed for. They fought to create a nation where man is free from a central government's oversight.
True. However come on I think this is a bit too "federal" than the founding fathers would have imagined anything would be. I do not beleive they would have liked it. Especially the monetary aspect
@xxxDAPROBLEMxxx you know what else they probably wouldnt have liked? The rich deciding to allow 50 million americans to go without insurance and probably die so that the rich could see their doctor slightly faster. Hell, I doubt anyone likes that idea when its laid out in plain sight but thats really what this is. Do we allow the rich to have healthcare with more convience at the expense of the less rich classes life?
I don't care what johnnyboypdq says. HR-676 will cost us taxpayers LESS than what we are paying now. Single-payer is also better for our economy.
A-For-Da-Ble Health* will save our economy,
it is in the best interest of everybody,
if every job moves out of the country,
than (tell me) whose gonna pay the medical fee?
Our incredibly expensive healthcare is one reason we are in this recession. It places USA production at a competitive disadvantage with rest of the world.
What most people do not understand is that the current system is burdened with 12 million Illegals that are over running the system and not putting anything ino the coffers to support the system. When governemnt gets involved with any social program it becomes a huge burden to all the TAXPAYERS to foot the bill for freeloaders that the liberal bleeding heart facisist want to take care of, they feel bad, well FUCK EM!
Yes, illegal aliens are a serious problem; but not the only problem with healthcare. What if you lost your job, you were unable to obtain health insurance? Would you still say Health Insurance is not a right? It seems mighty strange to me that the rest of the world can protect their citizens from medical debts, but the USA can't. Are we ready to admit inferiority to the rest of the world?
You are not smart, you are prbably a Republican/redneck/high school dropout, who only kows about GENRATION POLITICS instead of thinking with an open mind. If wasting taxpayer's money is the only reason not to pass this, then quite frankley you haven't read anything about this single payer option. Either you can't read or you let these LYING republican news stations fool you, just like every other republican. IF YOU REPUBLICANS KEEP THINKING LIKE THIS YOUR PARTY WILL COLLAPSE WITHIN 3 YEARS.
@travelfar22 You are missing a HUGE point.Firemen, policemen and schools are funded locally by property taxes/local county taxes. So each local community decides to set revenue and spending levels that fit their local economy. You wouldn't advocate for a one-size-fits-all federal approach to local policing and fire requirements right? So why advocate the same for healthcare?Let us allow states to choose single payer v/s unleashing the free market. Let us see which system provides the best value.
true, nilent. most people also dont know that er visits 3x times more expensive and that doctor bills and hospital bills can be broken down into monthly payments like anything else, they get a bill for 5k and think they have to pay all at once, then just dodge it until it goes to collections
Ironically, the hospitals make more money by "treating" people for "Emergency" care than they would if the ER visit was prevented by routine at home preventive medicine and lifestyle education/changes......often it's the taxpayers and even the insured who wind up picking up the tab for all these ER visits that could be prevented.
We waste more money letting people suffer and die prematurely than it would cost to keep them alive and productive.

Do the FIREMEN ask you if you have fire insurance before they put out the fire!?
Does a SCHOOL ask you if you have education insurance?
Do POLICE ask you if you have police insurance before responding?
Answer: NO, and they're Government run like single-payer should be.
HEALTH is what we value most, and should be at the top of that list!
