  • I can't hear an accent?

  • This is a perfect Potomac rich girl accent. Fantastic.

  • Lol, I live in Maryland (DC area) and that's definitely an exaggerated Baltimore/Towny accent. Listen to Marty Bass..not only is he the worst weatherman ever, but he has the best Baltimore accent on TV.

If you live in Maryland and have "never heard it" you're either from the DC area and never ventured north into the Baltimore area...or you're from Dundalk/Essex/Pasadena/East Baltimore and that's what you're used to and "deont kneow waht ervreybuddy's tahlkin abeout."

  • "oh that accent's idiotic"

  • and you Americans make fun of how us Canadians speak? :P

  • @sweiland75 It's "we Canadians" and yes, we do. We also make fun of how we speak. We have too many accents here not to. And Julian Moore... what the hell was that????? o.O Worst. Boston. Accent. EVER!

  • I just love Julianne Moore :D

  • This is so rude lol i'm from maryland and we don't exaggerate o's that much

  • @tellestlavie its a joke

  • @tellestlavie my girlfriend is from maryland and yes, you do.

  • @rivenbeef oooh thats just mean :( phone home john ok thats all i could think of that you make fun of me for :(

  • Sounds like DumDock Md.to me. 30 rock sux

  • Sounds like DumDock Md.to me.

  • man, i lizzed at this. wink wink

  • And even her last name now seems like an inside joke: JESSUP? (For non-Marylanders, Jessup is a town in central Maryland, southwest of Baltimore, and notable as home of one of our state penitentiaries.)

  • It's too true. I'm in tears here! People here really do sound like that. :-)

  • Haha from Maryland as well and this cracked me up!

  • One person has an idiotic Maryland accent.

  • hahahah as a marylander, i feel your pain.. LONG O REPRESENT!

  • Ok gotta ask; I haven't seen 30 Rock lately. What the hell is with Julianne Moore's accent?

  • @cschnei08 That is a Boston accent!

  • I'm from maryland & I lul'd xD

  • @BitterSweetDecay Your deffinetly not a real Marylander if you lul. A real Marylander lOls.

  • I'm from Maryland and I occasionally let the long O slip lol

  • I'm Australian so this joke was lost on me...how are you "supposed" to say O?

  • @PyrokineticPunker ummmm....it's hard to explain if you're not a native "American" english-er.

  • ...im from maryland and i actually sound like that...SMH

  • One person still has their Maryland accent

  • I'm from Maryland and I've never heard anyone talk like that!

  • @jwinnings Ohe noe.

  • @jwinnings Then you must not be from the Baltimore area.

  • Perfect Maryland accent:

    Water = Wooder

    Baltimore = Balmer

  • @Novasox5 Yeah hon!

  • so funny......she shouldve said "wutter" for water

  • Thank you SO much for posting this, love it.

  • I wouldn't mind being stranded on MILF island with them...

  • Aoh ah didn't knao that was even awn this episaode, hon :)

  • Julianne, you're amazingly talented, but don't you ever show up in Boston and try the accent. You will get shot.

  • @IliveinMA Question: if you are not originally from Boston but you live there for a long period of time, will you eventually adopt the accent?

  • @strawberryrobin Im not sure.

  • @IliveinMA Hmm, I sure hope so. I'm moving to Boston pretty soon and I don't want to pull a Madonna, so a genuine accent over-time would be nice.

  • @strawberryrobin hahaha you might start saying Boston slang words maybe, but idk about the accent.

  • @IliveinMA I can't wait :D I love Boston

  • @strawberryrobin Start working the word "wicked" into your everyday speech (as a superlative). :)

  • @MikeF74 Excellent! I'll start right now.

  • I'm from Maryland and although she is exaggerating the "oh's" extremely, that basically is how people born and raised in MD talk. Although there are basically 3 different Maryland accents - Baltimore, Northern/Eastern MD, and the DC suburbs.

  • Oh my god, so funny, cackling all the way. Was born in Cumberland, grew up in Hagerstown, now live in Frederick. Mom was from Annapolis. Nae-ew! Such a great accent.

Marylander: Ahh nae-ew yeuu... Jew gay oo Sa-oow Fah?

Translation: I know you... did you go to South High?

Marylander: Ahh dun tok tee-oo MawMa, an Ama keep da bae-beh.

Translation: I done talked to Mama, and I'm a keep the baby I have spoken to Mom, and I will keep the baby.

  • @StevenLivesay shut up you douche that was really fucking gay

  • This is especially great after watching The Wire!

  • I died when I saw this too. As embarrassing as the Baltimore accent is, I felt a strange sense of pride when I saw it being ridiculed. Gotta love dat Bawlmer "eh-ew," hon!

  • it's an eastern shore accent

  • Does the O have it? Oh, we do. Do you O? Oh, no? Let go. O

  • yes.

  • Im from Australia and absolutely loved this, ive been doing this accent at work, so funny.

  • LIKE!

  • Okay only northern Baltimore County and the some of the more rural counties have this. They also pronounce Wash as warsh. More urbanized areas like Montgomery and PG don't have this.

  • @thecoreywalsh Haha... Oh no... I'm grew up in MoCo and I have def. heard (and have a best friend) with it!

  • thats pretty funny....and so true

  • I'm from Montgomery County, and I've never heard a single "o" pronounced in that fashion...

  • @Farrhago That's probably because youre from Montgomery County and received a decent education.

  • @Farrhago I am too and obviously you have lived under a rock because I hear people talking like this every day. And that's in the wealthier parts of MoCo too...

  • I'm dying of laughter!

  • I'm from MD (Bowie) and I have never heard this accent lol.

  • haha

  • Love it! I miss my Maryland home. Thats how the vast majority of my relatives talk. Miss that living in SoCal.

  • ROFL .. spoof of " Overstock . com " commercials

  • best

  • I'm from MD (Frederick) and the O's always get me.

  • i'm watching this on repeat, too. i'm from baltimore (hon), and though i've lost my accent, i can still say "goin' down the ocean to drink some natty boh" with the best of them. one of my favorite moments from this episode!

  • thanks for posting this. i could not stop laughing when i saw it on air.

  • Ahahahahahaha, this cracks me up, im watching it on repeat.

  • Hilarious, but it's not so much a Maryland accent as it is a Baltimore accent. Think ool as oil, and wooder as water.

  • Totally spot on accent.

  • I've never heard a Maryland accent before, and I live in the United States. Still a funny episode.

  • There's nothing like the real Baltimore 'O," hon!

  • I don't even know what a Maryland accent even sounds like and I'm from the UK but I shat myself laughing in that episode.

  • @80smusicfanNO1 well that sounds nothing like a baltimore accent so dont watch this video for it
