On top of what CraigX mentioned, hemp yields roughly 300 gallons of oil per hectare per harvest. You can make biodiesel from hemp oil for the equivalent of $0.60/gallon. The plant has an energy return of energy invested greater than 2.

I'd like to correct a thing he said. He said you can make gas from it. Not really, but you can make methanol and biodiesel from it, both which can be used to run a car depending on engine.
