I agree with all your observations. And like you said, the interpreter stepping out of "role" was very inappropriate and against code of ethics. And although I do agree "hate" is a strong word I understood completely where Emmett was coming from. He doesn't "hate" all hearing people he hates how they make him feel when they are oppressing and ignorant about Deaf people.
