Man kann über Dieter Bohlen denken was man will (er ist ein Selbstdarsteller und das bedarf keiner Diskussion) aber dieses Lied ist einfach der Hammer !!!! Ich gebe zu auch wenn Dieter da auf den Zug der Friedenswelle von Ralph Siegel gesprungen ist, hört es sich dennoch viel moderner und zeitloser an als Nicoles Lied. Und über die grandiose Stimme von Thomas Forstner müssen wir erst gar net reden - die hat nicht nur Charme und Kraft sondern auch eine Einzigartikeit die nie wieder erreicht wird

This is one of my eurovision favourites. Does anyone know if he still is in the music buisnes? He has a great voice and I remember that I back in 1989 fell in love both with him and his wonderful voice. And I don´t think that I´m the only one that felt like that.

I also loved the song and kinda fancied him back then. I even met him a year after eurovision at a photoshoot for an austrian teenmag. He turned out to be a really nice guy. He's quite short and my friend, who was the model he had to pose with him was at least 15cm taller. He looks her up and down, shrugs and says:" Well, get me the phone books - again!" I found that hilarious. I'm glad people still remember him. He should have been a lot more successful, don't know why he never made it.

@tuss88 I know this is a bit late but anywaaay I think he faded out of public life basically after his 0 points in '91. In Tim Moore's book Nul Points the author tries to track him down with no luck. It may or may not be that he is married and in IT nowadays, not sure!! But I think it's a shame coz I love this song and Venedig im regen, how that got no points is beyond me.....

@tuss88 Forstner hasn't been long in the Austrian media. He very quickly disappeared - and is nowhere ever to be seen. Unlike the producer of this song, Dieter Bohlen, who keeps writing the same songs over and over again and still makes lots of money with it.

Dieter Bohlen from Modern talking was one of the songwriters that made this song. That´s so clear to me when I hear "Nur ein lied". It´s the sound of Modern talking. Modern talking was a very popular group during the 80´s so I totaly agree with you, it´s very much a sound of the 80´s.

mehr forstner und weniger popscheiße. österreichisch authentisch. mit bonjovi kopien ala eric papylaya holt man keinen blumentopf beim ESC. die komponisten sollten mehr ihre Seele und ihre sprache einbringen anstatt popmüll zusammenzubauen. "Nur ein Lied" spiegelt die Musikseele wider. Get alive und ähnliches ist was für die Kinderdisco genauso wie das meiste was Stürmer macht. Das ist kommerzioneller Schaß und keine Musik. Nur ein Lied ist ein Meisterwerk. einfach genial und genial einfach.

Wieso wundern sich Österreicher, dass sie nichts bei der Eurovision reissen? Welches Lied hatte denn annähernd die Qualität von Thomas Forstner "Nur ein Lied". Das ist hat Klang, Tiefe, Sinn und ist authentisch. Vergesst Popmusik und Co. Seit Österreicher die Österreicher sind und nicht Östereicher die Amis und Engländer kopiert. It is a beautiful song with a very good lyric and melody! I was eleven years old at the time and I and all of the other girls in my school fall in love with Thomas Forstner and this song! Oh what a nice remembering to hear this song and see the video!
