Well, I clicked on the link to your website and it took me to the page on the Amazon website which is selling your book which was very disappointing. Also the York Test you advocate, anyone who knows about these things knows that it isn't accurate. There are many people who have IBS who don't have any food intolerances so I think it is wrong of you to claim to cure IBS.
@idkwia There is more to it than food intolerances! Yes, identifying food intolerances was part of what helped me, but that isn't the whole story. I'm sorry that you were disappointed about the link - I'm happy to try to answer questions for you.
PLS HELP! i didnt eat for a whole day like 3 times now just to see if i get diarrhea with no food in my stomach and i still do! its just water.. poo water :(
@McMIxTER Sorry to hear that! What are you eating normally? Clearly something is unhappy in your digestive system, but there WILL be a solution. Give me some more info and I can try to help.
@FoodIntoleranceNews well that day i didn't eat anything like i said but normally i don't eat breakfast, for lunch i eat like a sandwich, and some sweets :P and for dinner i eat some meat.
@McMIxTER Make sure you get some green vegetables in your diet - at each meal if possible! They have so many great vitamins and minerals that help keep your body strong. And try some whole grains for lunch instead of sandwiches all the time. Brown rice with vegetables and some chicken. Or cook buckwheat, barley, millet, or quinoa instead of rice. Try to make sweets just an occasional thing too :) I know it's hard, but it might help right away.
You don't need to by proprietary preparations. A good diet based on steamed vegetables and limited good quality low fat meats like chicken will help you achieve the same results. Key factors are identify trigger foods and exercise then stay with it for a few weeks. Its very hard to be disciplined but worth it. None of the treatments will cure the condition 100% but what you can expect is a major reduction in symptoms and better management to help you live life to the full.
Hmm Iv had ibs since I started my period years ago and since then iv been getting worse and even miss a year at a time without one. With my ibs iv tryed peppermint oil capsules more exercise changing my diet but nothing has worked! I get pains like I'm being stabbed in the stomach area and it constantly feels like it's bubbling or moving around inside my body :S im doing school at home now because I feel so awful everyday and haven't seen my friends in a month because I'm to afraid to go out pl
@XxbambiexX1 I know about those pains! That's exactly what I dealt with for a long time. What kind of a diet are you following now? I promise, you don't have to live with these ridiculous symptoms. You want to have a social life again, right?!?! If you give me some more info about your diet I can try to help.
@FoodIntoleranceNews erm diet wise i tend to stick to the same foods alot of fish, chicken, rice and fruit iv tryed changing the foods i eat and it doesnt seem much help :S i dont eat bread or any dairy and that hasnt helped >.< also thanks for the reply
@XxbambiexX1 Try cutting out the fruit for a little while. I know that sounds strange, but fruit can be tough on the digestive system when it's not well. Or if you need to have fruit, just eat it alone - give yourself a couple hours before and after eating it before you eat anything else. Also, make sure you're getting lots of leafy greens and other seasonal vegetables - every day. And for beverages, if you have caffeine or sugary drinks, get rid of those as much as possible.
@FoodIntoleranceNews ah thanks for the advice i found out pasta really makes me ill so im cutting that out, but recently it hasnt been getting any better and when i go to the bathroom iv acctuly been bleeding alot.. >.< im to embarrased to go to the doctors im not sure if thats a sign of ibs or not D:
@XxbambiexX1 Ok - bleeding definitely warrants a visit to the doctor, I'm afraid! There might be something more serious going on...there might not be, but you need to rule it out by seeing a doctor.
Try whole grains (brown rice, quinoa, millet, buckwheat, etc) instead of pasta. If you're not used to eating grains, then don't go crazy on them. Just have a little bit with, maybe, two meals a day.
How long does it takes to get rid of ibs when changing the eating habbits? i have ibs for 4 years now since i started to eat much meat and milk products because of the protein.
It varies person to person, but if you start doing the right things for your body, it should happen in just a couple of weeks. Try getting your protein from plant sources like beans, tofu, and brown rice. Things highly concentrated in protein, like meat, are actually pretty tough on the digestive system, so try to limit intake.
I guess the best way to handle IBS is to identify your triggers. My main triggers seem to be alcohol(I can drink light beers in moderation),caffeine,animal milk and some related products like yogurt,rice,chocolate,popcorn sometimes. Anyone else have problems with some of these?

Is there a way to cure IBS without buying anything? Geez...
JegXIII 1 year ago 22
@JegXIII
I understand what you mean. Yes, in fact, it is free to get rid of IBS! It's just knowing what works for you, which I can help sufferers figure out.

@JegXIII watch Dr. Mercola's video about IBS.... we just have to eat differently to cure IBS

This is always a good start! Or at least cut back to the least amount of caffeine possible.

Try Heather's IBS diet
low fat, high soluble fiber, low insoluble fiber
and avoid trigger foods like diary, red meat and caffeine.
mckohtz 2 years ago
@mckohtz
Yes, those changes can help and I like what Heather says, but that doesn't work for everyone. There are other things to think about too.
