This is pure, unadulterated funk, my friend.

The term "groove" is pretty general. Years ago (and maybe still), DJs used to refer to old, lesser-known funk/soul/R&B tracks as Rare Groove, but maybe "groove" used in some other way I'm unaware of. But Cameo(sis) is definitely funk!
