Yes, one can modulate NTSC onto a laser beam, I have done this in the past with no problems whatsoever.

Simply configure your laser to be modulated and provide baseband composite video.

At the other end simply extract the signal, be sure you do not invert the signal and do get the levels correct.

Due to the massive available band width a laser has video is not a problem.

u can do the same with glass and a laser pointer. th reflection off the glass (which vibrates due to sound waves) will hit a sensor and can record sound from miles away. through a window

@theSYNQmaster Television Remote works by Infrared laser wave. Just in case you didn't know red laser pointer works on Infrared wave (the cheap ones are about 1-5 mw) and TV remote (or most of the remots I THINK) works on super low wave of IR.

@Nadrealis Sorry but I can't help but call you an idiot. a walkie-talkie converts sound into radio waves then transmits those through the air. the receiving walkie talkie then converts the radio waves back into sound. this is the same principal except using radio waves it uses the laser.

@newton3010 Radio waves and light waves emitted by a laser are part of the same spectrum. You singling out "radio waves" and saying that "light waves" aren't different in terms of how they are converted are ridiculous to say the least.

Radio waves =/= Visible light spectrum. Sound is merely the vibrations composed of frequencies that can be picked up by our ears. You saying the principal in which the light - sound and sound - light conversion is the exact same as with radio waves.

@newton3010 What do you mean? They're different and can be applied for different situations. This isn't something a walkie talkie would be used for nor is it the same foundational application. I.E. If he wanted to use radio waves as the basis for his conversion and information transfer he'd use a walkie talkie...but he doesn't..he uses light..therefore it's a completely different application.
