hey, im not sure if u know this, but the makeup dried lighter on the latex because cream makeup is not made to be used on latex. it is water based. to get the colors to look right, you need to use rubber mask grease, which is castor oil based. if you want something even more professional makeup , you can also use pax paint (makeup made with a blend of pros-aid and pigments) or alcohol activated makeup. rubber mask grease is by far the cheapest of those though, but is by no means a bad product.
Hey a terrific and light weight body paint that I use all the time for my She-Hulk is wolfe brothers. it's a water base make-up that only takes a tiny bit of water to apply and dries quickly and goes on very vibrant
@xSingx13 this was originally supposed to be on a girl and I was going to do a short film too..but those plans fell through. Doing this to myself was plan B
@wrllovemen no, not really. They're not very comfortable because they're really cheap. There's this small "company" that sells them for cheap ($20) so they're not very good quality. You can feel the edges when you blink and it sort of feels like you have something in your eye all the time (LOL, well, you DO)... if you spent more money and bought a good quality pair for $80 or more then they'd be closer to real contacts and much more comfortable
@cosuplaykat It could totally work, however, it might not be very movable. I think what would work best for that would be a high quality foam latex. It has a lot more give and is easier to move in.... Not that I've ever used it before, but I've done lot's of research and watched tons of SFX bonus features on movies. LOL
i like how you did this but i think when i do it ill put a twist on it and instead of mystigue im gonna do a male reptilian styl man and ill also use a bald cap and go with black, orange, and green make-up and sugestions?
@InfernoPyro01 that sounds pretty cool! Hmmm, I'd suggest maybe making the bald cap part first, like I did in my freddy tutorial. That might make it easier to get the detail you'll want. Other than that, the possibilities are pretty much endless! I'd love to see what you end up doing. You should make a video and post it as a response to this :)
@bonybfx ya was thinking that was accualy gonna do what u did first but apply it to a mold of my head and continue by adding detail and making a full head peice possible among other things to it do u have any experiance in head molds?
@bonybfx well try to im accualy talking to another guy on youtube that does some realy cool prostetics and seein if hed do a video on how to correctly make it and what products to use so hopefully he will
@dj02tc5 It's called pro-adhesive. I did a video on it :) it's pretty awesome stuff. definitely recommend it for putting on prosthetics instead of using spirit gum.
when it comes to face paints you gotta think creative. if the prothetic is white, then put a basecoat of white on your skin too so it's all the same shade when you apply. or mix the black with the blue to get a darker shade to compensate for the prosthetic coverage. OR
when you're making the prosthetic you could add a drop or two of blue food dye to tint it so you dont have to apply so many layers.
@dakotaviggiano those are all good tips! I agree. In this case though..it really was the cheap cream make up I used. It's not meant for painting latex. It coated my skin fine but on the latex it was like trying to mix water and oil. My own mistake.
@hotitachi well one of my next videos will be my suggestion on what is required for a basic sfx make up kit for beginners. I am a beginner too. I didn't get any training or schooling. I'm teaching myself. That's actually the purpose of this channel. I thought, if I'm going to really focus on this, I might at well make a youtube channel out of it....since I love youtube and video editing. :) You are inspiring me to get off my ass and make a video now.
@RolyUnGashaa Hahaha, it did. If I knew that paint sucked so much I wouldn't have even used it to begin with. Oh well...the point of all this is to learn :)
@CreepyUnicorn hahahah, donations. LOL. I won't have that problem now with the new job..I have twice the money to play with now so it's all good. I am eventually going to open up a BonyBFX store online too so I can sell some stuff. That will, in time, also help me buy supplies and grow my name/business.

@wjp1117 Cool! I'll have to look into that. Sounds good. And since it's water based it would probably come off fairly easy too. Thanks for the tip!
