Kesserling and Von Manstein were better generals than Erwin Rommel. The Desert Fox is just a great propaganda tool. Look how he wasted so many good troops in Tobruk in 1941. He almost destroyed the Afrika Korps there then. he wasn't removed because he was a favourite of the Fuhrer.

@HomarLeonardo Rommel was never favorite with Hitler,Rommel was a great tactician,he was very capable of turning the tables around he was always under manned under armored and he always beat the shit of the british,except in the Alemein when he was totally out of resources and the US help was constantly reinforcing the Brits.Manstein was an Strategist,Rommel was a tactician to different things.Kesselring was a luftwaffe general.

@blaugot My Grandfather was in the British forces that were captured at Tobruk. And he didn't come out of the war with any resentment towards the Germans. He hated Hitler, Goebells, Himmler etc... But he never had any ill feelings towards the Germans.
