Character creation'd ruin street fighter, and each nations distinctive fighting style portrayed in this game.

Everyone'd make a character with a projectile, shoryuken type move, possibly a command grab, be fast and have high stamina.

All the current characters would never be used, and characters would lose their identity.

I'm not one of the masses, I live on logic, and everything I say or do has reasoning behind it. (Reason why I don't have many friends =D).

I'd personally have a character which was a mix between Sagat and Gief, but without the damage and average health. I've always wanted to be a projectile character that has good tankability. I personally love using Seth, but you can't help but get annoyed, seeing one ultra take away twice the damage that you've done for a whole 80 seconds count.

You could see people making the links incredibly easy to do as well... which would mean every fight would be a top tier opponent, which would get agrivating in the end. Like MvC2 always had Cable and Sentinel, this will always have the same moveset, from character to character.

I'm loving balrogs new outfit. The rival battles improved, looks like great fun to watch and get into.

We wanted online lobbies and bonus matches, we got them. We got a nice handful of new characters.

3rd strike ultras implemented, more gameplay variation. Some of the new ultras do look pretty beast.

I have no complaint about improved online experience. But new characters are terrible, except maybe Juri. They are unmemorable and their animation makes them look made of paper. And the new costumes as seen in this video.. Sigh. Clown Chun-Li? Robotic Gief? They really turn me off and take 'realism' out of the game.

If you want Street Fighter to edge towards 'realism', you really might want to look into moving towards Tekken. Metal Gief is an alter appearance of Gief, which was bound to be put in. Nostalgic value, relating to the MvC series. Chun li's outfit seems to bear a resemblence to an old character.

I don't see how these new characters are not memorable. They fit in and have decent moves.

Perhaps you are fuming because you wanted someone like Rolento, but if you don't like, don't buy.

Well obviously I'm talking about the 'game realism'. I am an old school SF2 player who left the fighting games and came back thanks to the SF4. With SSF4, Capcom looks to push the boundary of the 'old schooler' like me yet again, but it just doesn't work for me. Viper was such a case, but Capcom created her brilliantly so I love her. But the rest of them? Not so much. I like mind games and space control over mindless button mashing and endless combos. And talk about weapons..

@penguinbelly if you want to talk about weapons, we can start with vega and his claw... even in the sf2 days there was always the fear that his claw would come off, leaving it lying around the ring. the general concept for cody's knife in alpha 3 was very similar, so nagging about it whilst praising vega as one of the "perfect sf2 characters" contradicts itself. on the matter of realism, shoryukens and hadoukens have never exactly been accurate to real combat, so there.

Yet they never succeeded creating truly distinctive yet equal characters. By adding paper-made characters with same move sets, they're taking what should have been given to the original characters away. For me, the original 8 characters + 4 kings + Viper + Juri are the only ones that are worth remembering.

really? personally i'm not all that keen on juri's look, and i found Abel to be a capable, original character with a technical moveset revolving around tech grabs and flaunting invincibility frames in your marseiles rolls. el fuerte and rufus didn't really do it for me though... rolento on the other hand, is a great character hailing from the alpha series, along with series favourites such as sakura and charlie. dismissing a character you've never heard of is a bit ignorant, don't you think?
