GOG.com has Starflight 1 and 2 for a mere $2.99 in their 50% off sales, that lasts until January 2nd 2012! You should go and check as you get the manuals, maps, clue books, codes and everything else documentation wise! I got Starflight 1 and 2 and The Last Express myself today, so I did put my money where my mouth was! :)
@SamDeRe81 I never played the Sega Genesis version. I wished that they made a Starflight 3. I think there's a website that people tried to make a Starflight 3 but so far, there hasn't that much progress. I don't think they're going to continue the project. :(
I have started watching your LP. If possible you really need to rename them, if possible, so they get more viewers. I recommend starting it with "Starflight 3?" then "Protostar LP No.1 by Altoman5" I wouldn't think many people would search for Protostar, but they would Starflight!
@HardWarUK Thanks for the praise. I love this game! The graphics looked good for its time and I like listening the soundtrack from the CD. I wish more gaming companies produced more quality games like this one.
@Altoman5 When you think about it, today we only get really good games if they get modded. Mods added 100 hours to my Morrowind playing and 50 hours to my Oblivion playing, without mods, both these games would be 80% games instead of 90% games. Modders don't get enough recognition either, from the major PC gaming magazines and websites! Also, why don't be know the names of the DOSBox programmers like we do the Mass Effect or Starcraft programmers? I know what's more important!
@HardWarUK I agree with you. I don't think most gamers appreciate how much old PC games and the small gaming companies contributed to gaming today. The shareware revolution, competition between PC and gaming consoles such as the SNES and Sega Genesis, FMV games, etc. DosBox is probably one of the best creations for the PC. Too bad most people don't realize it.
Yes, I am using DosBox and I'm not experiencing the problems that you describe. I barely know how to use DosBox, so I don't know exactly what to do. The only problem I seem to get is that you can't save or load during battle or else the game will crash.
I remember this game from when I was little boy, and I was so fascinated by it. I didn't understand most aspects of the game, but man was this game deep for its time.
Yeah, I love this game. I only wished the gameplay was longer. Other than that, I was kinda hoping for a sequel, but the company that produced it went out of business long ago.

@HardWarUK Okay, I'll try that to see if it works. I included Protostar and Starflight in the tags. Thanks for the suggestion.

@Freshbrood That's true. Without Starflight, there wouldn't have been Star Control.
