Well I've spent 120 dayson my Zero DS and I'm never going back to petrol. Yes it only does 40 miles, but my commute is 3 miles each way to work and I charge at work. Run into town for groceries is 8 miles with no charge points. As for how long it takes to charge... 10 seconds of my time. I don't care how much bike time it takes, I don't stand and watch it. It's no more time or effort than charging my mobile phone.
Every bike has it's purpose! The Zero saves me $13.00 a day vs driving the V8 truck every day to work. You keep buying fuel and I will keep saving money, everyday! Love my Zero. Challenge to all, spend 3 days on the Zero and lets hear your comments. No replacement for experience.
everyonesays the SAME THINGS ..it's fun.it's quiet..it's smooth..good for the environment. feels and handlesnice...NO ONE SAYS SHIT ABOUT THEIR PERFORMANCE SPECS worth a crap specifically CHARGE time left after riding so many miles. jesus. research to find something DIFFERENT about a technology is a fucking headache!
if ya dont mind spending a few grand more. $14,000.Brammo Empulse 10.0 is your most REALISTIC bet to travel between counties in a state. 75 to 110 miles on a single charge with a 225 pound rider.that is Per one of the engineers from there website emailing me HONEST REALROAD TESTING SPECS. :D NOT dissing on Zero, hopefully they are developing a Zero s newer version 2011 or 2012 model that will tie orbetter this Empulse version lineup. cheers. competition is a GOOD thing.
@EvilBeasts Electric motors don't produce much noise because they are efficient. They don't produce much heat for the same reason. As a culture, we need to unlearn the arbitrary association between noise and power that we've developed over 100 years of using wasteful, noisy tech the same way we unlearned the concept of having to dial the operator to place a phone call.
Best bring a rope with you if you run out of juice. That was you can get a tow home. XD

an 8 out of 10 is NOT worth spending more than 5 grand on it if it can't last more than 40 measley miles per charge at 60 mph=fail. no sale
chronofusion 1 year ago
@chronofusion Where are you going that requires more than 40 miles? A 40 mile range, for the vast majority of people, is sufficient for a 2 way trip.
TheJamesrocket 1 year ago
@chronofusion its 67 mph not 60
