You can record live linear audio tracks like guitar or vocals. In fact with guitar you can insert the GTR Multi MFX on the input and its a virtual Boss ME-50 built in the MV, so guitars sounds pretty good thru it

You dont need a computer just plug a VGA monitor into and your ready to work , or just work on the color screen itself on the MV

i think the mv suffer from a slow down in the hiphop industry...im sure it would have been a standart if it came out 10 year earlier...cause this machine is absolutely fantastic...and i tried akai mpc...its really a different feeling...once you settle your bpm tap correctly you dont go down on the sequencer it is as powerfull as an MPC...plus it is so easy to use...you are really focus on your music with that MV not on navigating on hundred of menus...amazin will never sell my MV

for the mac its a DVI to vga connection thru an upscaler box into a massive projector.

i dont know anything about projectors.

Why did Roland discontinue the MV8-OP1? I was looking to upgrade from the Yam QY700 and a rack of modules which i use live with real drums and need the extra outs for click tracks etc. The MV sure is impressive but the MPC5000 has multi- out as standard and is cheaper by comparison.

For video im using the Edirol - MotionDive Tokyo video performance software and controller. Its pretty old now , not sure if the software designers from Digital Stage ever updated the software for it. But you can find it pretty cheap from some online places.
