if general public, media and football authorities in countries like Portugal were condemning cheating and diving it would have been eradicated by now. if you have ever watched Portuguese national team or teams like Porto ( especially under Mourinho ) play you would have noticed how they roll around faking injuries and Ronaldo is the best example. that is why he will never be remembered as great player but a cheat.
