@trickmastermonkey do you actually know anything about racing? when you re going as fast as you can while taking a turn, you can't turn more! that's the whole point of racing, calculating the maximum speed you take take turns with and following the perfect line. Of course they tried to slow down and turn more to the right, and they did (if you actually paid attention to the footage you would have seen that)! it just wasn't enough to avoid him..

Why can't people respect Lorenzo? He earned that title and it wasn't about luck. Rossi is the greatest of all time but I think age and injuries (and Ducati) have finally slowed him down. It's between Lorenzo and Stoner now.

The argument that Rossi would have won in 2010 is such a joke! Lorenzo crashed out of four races in 2009 when Rossi won. Since Rossi missed four races due to his crash in Mugello and Lorenzo won the championship, people are saying Rossi's absence is the reason Lorenzo won. In that case, was Rossi's 2009 title only won due to Lorenzo crashing out? Nope! They are both talented riders, and though I am a huge Lorenzo fan, I don't discount Rossi's talent. Lorenzo's shouldn't be discounted either!

@ruubern I don't agree with that statement as his performance was brilliant. He did nothing wrong and was at the sharp end week in week out. However, he did not defeat Rossi in a title bid and has not been tested in a title defence. I personally believe that Rossi would hav won this year without any injuries but the shoulder injury accident alone made it too close to call for me as it clearly gave him problems when riding.
Cant everyone just accept that Rossi was the best and he had his day, time to move over and let the better riders in. Rossi will never be champ again especially now he is riding those red scrappers.

@timberjackist I think it's far too early for those kind of predictions. I doubt Rossi is finished as prior to his motocross accident he was fastest in testing, he did win the championship in 08 and did manage to finish in front of Lorenzo this year upon his return adjusting his setup in order for him to have the strength to turn the bike which cost him rear grip. We will have a better idea of Rossi next season and when Lorenzo has multiple back to back titles etc we can then make claims.
@SPOOKSTR you cant expect Rossi to kick Lorenzo's ass from the start of 2011 , he has to undo all the fuck ups Stoner has done to that bike , give it 3 or 4 races and Rossi will be showing Lorenzo why hes the legend he is just like he did in Japan...

Why can't people respect Lorenzo? He earned that title and it wasn't about luck. Rossi is the greatest of all time but I think age and injuries (and Ducati) have finally slowed him down. It's between Lorenzo and Stoner now.

This overtake is already one page of the book of the best moments ever of this sport. Only veeery verey few riders in the history of this sport can gift us with these kind of maneuvers, and today noone but Rossy can (same goes for Laguna 2008).

Rossi by far the best rider/developer of moto gp bikes.....that's why Ducati offered him so much money to go with them...and its in rossos interest to develope a totally new bike...to keep on trying with his record setting....the Duke which he's on right now has a complete carbon frame and new fuel tank....some big secrets....he's 3rd in France..and beat Jorge who is still riding the bike he has been riding for the past few years...he knows it like the back of his hand!!!.or should! The argument that Rossi would have won in 2010 is such a joke! Lorenzo crashed out of four races in 2009 when Rossi won. Since Rossi missed four races due to his crash in Mugello and Lorenzo won the championship, people are saying Rossi's absence is the reason Lorenzo won. In that case, was Rossi's 2009 title only won due to Lorenzo crashing out? Nope! They are both talented riders, and though I am a huge Lorenzo fan, I don't discount Rossi's talent. Lorenzo's shouldn't be discounted either!

'Owned' right ok. Well Rossi was owned by Lorenzo in the championship in 2010. Yes Rossi broke his leg. But Lorenzo beat Rossi fair and square 3 times in 2010 BEFORE Rossi broke his leg. Lorenzo's pace in 2010 was amazing, you cannot take that away from him. Don't be childish lads. He's now world champion, and deservedly so.

Lorenzo was 10 seconds down in 3rd with 6 laps to go, and at home, he put his head down and hunted down Rossi, took him, hunted down Pedrosa, and WON! Valentino will always be the Champion. I think of Lorenzo as the guy that got beaten at Catalunya infront of his home crowd and as the guy that tried to highside into space at Laguna Seca :)

They are the best in the world at what they do, every single one of them! Despite all of that, I have to say that in my opinion, if Rossi hadn't broken his leg, i really doubt Lorenzo would be world champ now...

They said that even if Rossi won every race he missed because of his broken leg, he still would not have become champion, Lorenzo's points were a record I think, because of his incredible consistency, finishing every race of the season and his worst finish all year was 4th. That's the mark of a champion

@ruubern I don't agree with that statement as his performance was brilliant. He did nothing wrong and was at the sharp end week in week out. However, he did not defeat Rossi in a title bid and has not been tested in a title defence. I personally believe that Rossi would hav won this year without any injuries but the shoulder injury accident alone made it too close to call for me as it clearly gave him problems when riding.

@timberjackist I think it's far too early for those kind of predictions. I doubt Rossi is finished as prior to his motocross accident he was fastest in testing, he did win the championship in 08 and did manage to finish in front of Lorenzo this year upon his return adjusting his setup in order for him to have the strength to turn the bike which cost him rear grip. We will have a better idea of Rossi next season and when Lorenzo has multiple back to back titles etc we can then make claims.
