  • The only folders I have in my skyrim/data directory are Interface, Strings and Video, the rest is BSA files.

  • @Kagamex Make a textures folder yourself, then put the mods in there.

  • @fatalmaverick I try doing that and it didn't work

    any Idea???

  • Does anybody know how to intall mods on cracked game? but the shit thing is that when i launch the game it crashes to desktop so fucking annoying...

  • @HotProduction100 Buy it, stingy.

  • @ResoImages Lol, anyway i made it work :)

  • Hey LietroHUN, copy this code and paste it at "documents > my games > skyrim > skyrimprefs"

    [Launcher]

    bEnableFileSelection=1

    bShowAllResolutions=0

    uLastAspectRatio=3

    bLoadLooseFiles=1

Find the launcher part there and replace it with the one above

  • can't do... when open the window where is options and data files and etc... the data files button is gray and can't open

  • You sound alot like pretty lights.... you know who that is?

  • mod manager crashes FOR ME. ANY HELP?*!

  • the Nexus site dont work.. at least not "the high stars" link and sutch.. only says that the site dont exsists when i try to download

  • hey bro i downloaded this mod tes v reduced texture pack, and i did what is mentioned in this video, but still it doesn't seem to work for me.... what should i do?

  • @MANEGit same here the whole game turns all gay looking like blue etc

  • @WWak786 I'm not familiar with that particular texture pack guys, sorry. You should probably try to reinstall and install the official texture pack released by bethesda, sorry only advice I have.

  • Ken Block?

  • I have the CD version of skyrim..

And I don't have the textures folder in my data folder

    Can i still install mods?

  • @CrimsonxxKitten you just make a textures folder yourself

  • @fatalmaverick Oke thanks i will try it..

  • @fatalmaverick I just realized that question was pretty nooby :p

  • @fatalmaverick WAHOO wow thnx soo much, i love mods and i have cd version, AND YOU ROCKED MY DAY (im talking about your reply to CrimsonxxKitten, THANK YOU

  • @coolfunkDJ No problem im glad I could help you, have fun!

  • heh if i install the night sky mod and 6 months later decide to add, i dont know, more gore mod or whatever comes out, if i overwrite the textures folder will i lose the night sky mod as i add the new one?

  • @iainthompson50 no sir as long as they don't have the same names they will co-exist peacefully.

  • @fatalmaverick

Thanks for the quick response! Ok i guess what confused me, and what has been eluded too in earlier posts, is the 'overwrite' concept. If we select to overwrite the files the pre-existing night texture mod will still remain, even if it is contained in the said overwritten folder. If so, amazing, its beyond me how that actually works! But then again, I am a noob

  • @fatalmaverick Hey, can I install the Color galaxy and the high stars? They'er both in textures> sky

  • @Shadowfury Yes they affect different files.

  • Can i turn on/off mods whenever i want?

  • @Kritoci Nope you would have to use the NMM (Nexus Mod Manager) to turn them on/off at will. The only way you can turn them on / off is by completely removing the folders you added out of 'data', which can become confusing and time consuming.

  • @fatalmaverick please do no spiders mod instal video

  • BTW it's in your 32 Bit program files. That would be Program Files x86 people

  • help me plz i cant open my Data Files when u click on the skyrim icon

  • @ghjgdjgyd make sure you are clicking on the launcher and not the exe. If you want access to your data files download 'Nexus Mod Manager' it lets you access them from there.

  • @fatalmaverick Have a Question sir,

Look i have mods installed, but as you know they almost all have same name

like femalebody_1.dds (like calientes mod). then i download Slim tatoo ( a mod for Female) with the same name femalebody_1.dds ... is there a way to install another mod with the same name ?? cuz i try and it just overwrite and when i enter Skyrim the previous mod i had, it's unistall. and the new one is alright yeah, but my old one is gone T_T

    waiting your answers.

  • @TheBossPwn No I don't believe so because those two are editing the same texture file, and only one can be present. If the modder were to perhaps edit another layer.. it would work. I think because the name is directly related to the file that is being edited ingame, you cannot simply name is femalebody_1.dds(1) because that would reference something that doesn't exist. I hope that makes sense.

  • I download Skyrim from Steam and didnt Buy the DVD and now i dont have that textures folder!:(

  • @TheGhostNumb Just make one inside 'data' folder

  • i have the non steam version how should i do it?

  • Will you be adding Nexus Mod Manager support?

  • @AuralVirus You mean a guide on how to install things with Nexus mod manager?

  • Thank you so much for the short and informative tut. It was very useful. Subbed and please make more :)

  • ahhh i need help T_T if the folder come as meshes , i jus replace whatever folder example actor inside that to the textures one right ? or jus leave meshes as a folder in the data folder ? so confused !! cos i did every single possible method but cant seem to get the meshes to appear ingame

  • my data folder doesn't have a textures folder, just a .bsa file what does this mean?

  • @FreeTh1nk3r then create a texture folder inside your data folder.=)

  • Comment removed

  • @FreeTh1nk3r thanks i got it working... i still crash to desktop when im outside of dungeons but this isn't related to the mod manager... maybe its my amd driver i have 11.11

  • I am confused. D: What if you want multiple mods..? Do you put them all in that texture folder? :c I am very confused right now..

  • @BlitzwingPotato Depending on the mod. Just make sure once you get the folder it replaces the 'data' folder everything else should go on it's own. For example you download Mod A and unpack it, you get a folder called 'data'. Drag that folder to your skyrim folder and overwrite your old data folder.

  • @fatalmaverick You're so fast in replying. D: It's like- magic or something.

Anywho. Thank you for the tip. It helps c:

  • @BlitzwingPotato

I'm just like you.... When they tell me to "over-write" a folder and "all" its internal files and that it won't harm anything, I'm like, "This isn't the way I learned to use Windows!" You only over-write what you don't want to keep. Maybe because I'm old school, but I unpack the RAR and ZIP files to a temp folder, then copy/paste them into their corresponding folders inside the Skyrim "DATA" folder.

I 'REFUSE' to play online, so I won't/can't/don't/ use NMM.

  • Steam will only be on C:drive if you installed it to the default directory, which is a bad idea as when you need to Format C :Drive you loose every thing. I have mine on a 700gb seperate Partition.

  • @Unobta1n1um But I think we can both agree that the majority of people that will need this guide will have it on the c: drive =p

  • @fatalmaverick And I doubt most of them will understand anything he just said lol

  • Do i need premium these days on skyrimnexus? Cuze when I try to download the mirrors show for a split second and then dissapear, but if im fast it takes me to a premium-upgrade page

  • @remcees No you most certainly do not need a premium account. They may make downloads a bit faster but normal accounts can download just fine. A possible reason for the mirror disappearing is that the servers are overloaded, due to millions of people visiting the site it puts quite a weight on the server. Just check back in a few minutes they should be back up. :)

  • Here is another easy way..

    (windows 7)

If you have winrar this helps.

Go to the winrar folder, Right click on Winrar.exe or the file that is just named Winrar.

    Click properties, Then compatibility.

Look towards the bottom and there is a checkbox that says Run as administrator.

Click that, And you can extract the files directly to the data folder.

Hope that this kinda helps some people :3

  • @Lyfegamer Thanks for your input, I hope this helps some people trying to troubleshoot.

  • hey dude thanks for the awesome work man .. but i have no folde i only got a texture.bsa file under data does that change anything??

  • @sandro4728 Just place the texture folder in data, it does not matter if you have one already. Cheers :)

  • @fatalmaverick dude an answer after 3 minutes???!! sick xD and it works perfektly thanks
