Poor Keith. On Shapes of Things, he anticipated Jim to come in early after the break after the chorus. Jim was on for this performance and Keith compensated. Good performance and real as usual.
Great footage and songs / band ( one of my favourites ). But isn't a pity they didn't have the rhymn and lead guitar amplifiers miked up better so we can hear them ! As they are big Marshall's they must have been louder actually there in real life; compare this " sound " to say the 1965 ( I think ) " NME ( New Musical Express magazine ) Poll Winner's Concert clip of " Shapes " and although the sound may not be " loud " all the instruments are " balanced " and you hear it all. regards.
@Kashmir0109 Hey Kashmir, no apology necessary here . Assmorgan88 seems to be the self proclaimed expert on 60's music, even though the first "artists" he list as favorites on his home page are Lady Ga Ga and GG Allin! Not to mention his over use of the word fuckstick. This guy is pure negativity!
I never proclaimed to be anything...and I wasn't sure if you were supposed to put your favorite band first when asked to list your favorite music - fuckstick.
The only thing I proclaimed was that I was flattered that your hard-on for me lasted as long as it did...I thought you finished, but seemingly you're still jerking off to me.
Hurry up & cum already.
I've never seen anyone so into me, my opinion, and words I say...soooo flattering...you're giving ME a hard on, faggot!
After hearing this live version of "Shapes of Things", I can't understand why people say Page "butchered" the solo during their performance on that German TV show...and it's not due to the sound quality of this clip that made me conclude that.
1966 with Beck and Page on bass, So little available. Too bad the mix was as it is.
A month of so later they played Catalina Avalon Ballroom and spread across the huge stage with Page on the far left and Beck on the far right. bnd a huge backdrop of tall Jordan Amps. and the sound was perfect and instrumentals were all extended and mindboggling. If only I had brought a recorder,
stunning - the whole band is on form, despite an odd mix here. relf hits the notes, while the stage action must have been absolutlely deafening - and i see no monitors. soulful & brilliant...these guys were a sonic tornado and are electrifying to see.
Like Yardbirsfan pointed out, you can't hear the sounds of the instruments, only the drums... It sounds like Keith is singing alone here...but I still enjoy it, the Ybirds were a great group, Merci beaucoup!!
Merci!! Jim McCarty&Co. You have outdone yourself. The quality and sound are awesome.. Keith is such a doll.. He had such stage presence.. The crowd couldn't get enough of Keith... Love it.. Big Hug to you my friend!!!!
Typical dreadful tv sound for a rock group like The Yardbird, but still, isnt it just fantastic to see this line up,reminds me of when I saw them. They were sinply the best.Great people all.

Must be early 1966 ... Page is playing bass here, not lead.
And the amp footage from "Blow Up" was a set-up. Antonioni wanted Who-like carnage on screen.

Too much pressure for Jeffy having the master mad-dogging him for the lead position!

Oh God, asshole - yeah, there are three songs in this clip & "Shapes of Things" is one of them.
Nice comment, fuckstick.

It sounds like Jeff's amp isn't working. I noticed in one part of the video it looks like he is trying to adjust the amp.

@futuremath08 They were always having trouble with the amps. Watch the clip of 'Stroll on' from the film 'Blow-up'.
