  • Is BBS the station that try to beat of CTV

  • @1208spinjaco BBS was the "CTV" stations of Ontario/Sask from 1994-1997. The rest of the country just went by CTV. BBS stations coincidently got CTV newscasts and Canada AM

  • or CHum Took Over all The BBS STations

  • Thank you J.J. Clarke. Must have been a BBS thing for the weather forecasters to play the role of station ID announcers. I miss the old GOH logo I grew up with when I lived in the Ottawa area in the 1970's and 1980's.

  • I Agree

  • I love Max Keeping for CJOh-tv now renamed CTV NEWS but that news Staion in Ottawa is loosing in ratings and i found a new home for my news now on A-Channel Ottawa which is more better

  • and is CTV OTTAWA sister station

  • In 1998 the BBS stations were merged into CTV.

  • nonsense. BBS became CTV. Baton Broadcasting renamed itself CTV Inc.

  • so what happend if BBS did not rename it self CTV INC

what would have happend to 'A' stations

  • @prckay the entire idea behind BBS was a back up plan in the event that Baton was not able to get control of CTV... the reason they kept the CTV name was because it's the stronger brand of the two.

  • I think CTV should have Kept BBS

than today they would have had CTV , BBS AND 'A"

but i think if they kept bbs it would have Been Rebranded as 'A'

  • it was the other way around. Baton took over CTV. the whole point of BBS was in case they failed in their takeover.

  • In 1998 CTV Television Inc. aquired Baton Broadcasting Inc. And BBS was renamed as CTV.

  • you got it mixed up. Baton broadcasting aqquired CTV and renamed itself.
