  • WTF can I get this movie, I have been searching for the name of this movie for so many years now.

  • @TheEventMaker If you have a way of playing region 1s, I think the US DVD (with original Japanese audio and American dub, and proper subtitles) may be out of print but still available at many if not all online DVD sellers there. Try the region 1 search at Find-DVD to find one that sells internationally for a decent price.

  • This is a great movie!!

i think i still have it in swedish.

  • I wonder of Eiichiro Oda watched this as a kid...

  • This movie deserves to be rereleased, I have such fond memories of it from when I was a child.

  • @Gencoil

It's been released at least in the US.

  • Good animation, good music and a great story! I loved this as a child and still do.

  • "Oh, you're a girl!"

    *SLAP*

  • LOL! If I had a dollar for everytime that happened to me at the bar....

  • Meaning what?

  • Incidently, this was made by Toei Animation in 1971. Miyazaki was a key animator.

  • Dude I miss this movie. I can't believe my dad gave it away. Now I'm trying to go buy it again with a bunch of old movies pertaining to Miyazaki and Ghibli.

  • it's extremely easy to download.

  • I like to collect Miyazaki's work.

  • WHERE CAN I DOWNLOAD IT?!

  • Båten drar, båten drar, båååten draaar!

  • Gotta love those classic soundeffects.

  • I have fond memories of seeing this on tv when I was a kid.

  • woooo!! That memories! XDD

  • WHOA!! This cartoon brings back memories! :D

  • yeah, i love this film too, i have a torrent for it if anyone wants it, but im currently the only person seeding.

  • well... where?

  • does anyone know where to get this movie? please message me!!!!

  • It's been released on Region 1 DVD in the USA, as 'Animal Treasure Island' -- you should be able to get it from any online shop. It hasn't been released in the UK, though, and I don't know about any other countries...

  • Mon livre favori est l'Île au trésor par Robert Louis Stevenson.

  • ultra mega über cool! ive search for this for years! i only got the half movie, never seen the beginning. but now when i know the movies name im gonna buy it :p yazor 5000!

  • this is not Miyazaki... its a Hiroshi Ikeda film... Miyazaki was only involved a bit

  • Maybe, if you can shown it to Marinaweb Person,

and more than that, She'll see what she is missing

to her anime fairy tales of Little Mermaid and

    others sites. You understand?

  • Are you sure this is Hayao Miyazaki?

  • Wow, this is so funny! I never realize the pirates are

running amuck. It's like History of the World Part I

and The Little Mermaid gone wild and out of Control!

  • Man, I havent seen this since i was, like 6.

    Loved it back then.

  • "Oh, your a girl."

    *Slap!*

  • Miyazaki did some scene design and also designed captain silver (the pig) and the mouse from what I understand.

  • Miyazaki also came up with the heroine, Kathy. His influence over the story and designs was quite considerable. He even drew a manga version!

  • can some 1 tell me wher 2 get this film??? pleace??

  • this looks so cute someone upload it please

  • wow, when people say Miyazaki's artwork is heavily western-influenced, I guess this is what they meant.

  • You people are really harsh. This is EXCELLENT animation for 1971. Excellent animation for any era if you ask me. It may not be as refined as the Miyazaki you know and love, but it's him alright.

  • Did they even READ the book when they made this?

  • tis is cute!!! esp the slapping!!!

  • It's from 1971. You can definitely see Miyazaki's influence all over it (especially in the strong-willed heroine Kathy, the courageous hero Jim, and the villainous pig pirate Silver), since he worked on the story and design as well as animation. This was when he was doing more slapstick, less serious work such as "Future Boy Conan" and "Castle of Cagliostro".

  • I tend to favor Miyazaki's earlier work myself, usually for not being too preachy as his later work.

  • How old is this film?

  • I think its a different miyasaki...

  • it's the same miyazaki just older. see if you can find pando go pando to see some of his older work, it looks a lot like this

  • sorta.

    its a young hayao miyazaki.

he was just a key animator on this one, but he contributed with story ideas and designs as well.

  • Is that really Hayou Miyazaki? It's too...sharp...and cartoony...T_T

  • Oh my god! I loved that movie when I was little! =D I wanna see it again! XD

  • ummm

  • lol bitchslapped

  • Why does The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker. Not seem so original anymore!

  • Lol, looks like a total rip off XDDDDDDDD

  • I always thought Link from Wind Wakee resembled more a 60's Toei animated feature-type character due to his design.

  • That was traumatic.

  • wow...that was weird
