but i think germans have always had the highest regard for our four legged companions...in fact if you were a baron or nobleman you usually got a lion i believe...+ they used hawks to hunt small game.. the soldats used to shoot boar and deer for food a lot..and actually before the war i believe the berlin zoo was one of the top zoos in the world

my great opa was a luftant in the kaisers calvary and was kia in ww1..thats who im named after actually but...my opa was a german paratrooper in the afrika corps then ended up back in germany defendin it but had a sheperd and has very cool pics with it...unfortunatly it didnt survive the war and my opa still misses that dog...otto...was kia durin an allied bombing raid
