3) It was referred to the Senate, with the stipulation that there be the "Amendment" they all referred to.
In any event, that was waaay confusing. Explanation needed!
The original bill sponsored by Sen. Feingold was replaced by an amendment offered by Sen. Baucus - which was passed by a vote of 12 (Dems) to 7 (Repubs).
Sen. Vitter (Repub) offered two amendments which were defeated 12-7.
Sen. Barrasso (Repub) offered 12 amendments, all of which were defeated 12-7.
Then the final bill was approved by the committee by a vote of 12 to 7, and sent to the full Senate for a floor vote.
they dems were saying "no" to the amendments presented by the wyoming senator which would have taken some bodies of water out of the bill, at the end the bill was voted for without the amendments which would have retained some of our liberties on various bodies of water.
Look when the people realize that they are homless in the country that they had founded and built, they will get it. You gotta give Barrasso credit for trying. I'm not so sure that SENATOR Boxhead did a fair job in counting those no's on some of his amendments. One thing Barrasso didn't mention is that water rights in Wyoming are a privately held entity and by the federal government taking over all water they are stealing private property. Which is unconstitutional, not that SENATOR boxer knows anything about the constitution.
