If a business in a country then it follows that countries rules & regulations....here it would have paid taxes & given jobs (and high wages) to Icelandic people. The British didn't want to agree upon that bill and insisted on a deal with no preconditions about the national resources. First off, Landsbankinn did not collapse because of the terrorism act being invoked. Second, Icesave, while operating and paying taxes in the UK, was part of Landsbankinn, an Icelandic bank. Third, there is no evidence whatsoever that the UK pressured the nordic countries into stopping their loans to Iceland.

I feel sad for all tax payers who have to come up with money they have lost which the government garantueed. And I feel sad for all those friendly Icelanic people for having all this trouble over it. Is it not the job of a Government to oversee the financial workings of one of its banks (even if that Bank is foreign owned)? If a business in a country then it follows that countries rules & regulations....here it would have paid taxes & given jobs (and high wages) to Icelandic people. Where were the Icelandic government when all this dealings were going on ? Ignoring it? It was well known what was going on in the financial world - the crash was seen by quite a few beforehand.

Oh, yes it did! Just call the Prime ministry of Iceland and ask. A bill on Icesave was passed through the Icelandic parliament in August 2009. The British didn't want to agree upon that bill and insisted on a deal with no preconditions about the national resources. So the indeed it is the British Governments fault that the deal is not in force already.

You are absolutely right and I fear that this is part of the same scheme only now they are picking off the countries like Island, and maybe even a few smaller nations, probably and eventually some other smaller and more independent countries too. Wars started on another side of the world to destablise the peace (and financial market) and financial terrorism on the other until we are all under the yoke of debt slavery. Many should have paid much attention to South America and Africa with IMF.

Please don't let negative comments get you down. I knew Iceland has been in great trouble, and the banks have failed. It is not a question of what peoples opinions are or if other countries are suffering. too. Your country needs help, and moral support. We are all brothers and sisters in this Universe. We should all reach out to each other.

First off, Landsbankinn did not collapse because of the terrorism act being invoked. Second, Icesave, while operating and paying taxes in the UK, was part of Landsbankinn, an Icelandic bank. Third, there is no evidence whatsoever that the UK pressured the nordic countries into stopping their loans to Iceland.
I could go on and on and on... just about every sentence was exaggerated or entirely made up.

First off, Britain activated the terrorist law to be able to size all assets of Landsbanki and they closed the London branch. Therefore the shares became worthless and the bank collapsed.
Second, Landsbankinn was NOT Icelandic goverment bank, it was privat.
If a privat company goes bankrupt the shareholdes are responsible, NOT the public.
Third, no there´s no evidence but Britain is using IMF as dept collector and IMF adviced the norse countries not to pay until the matter settled.

nonsense?Is the UK and Netherland morally justified to be saddling Iceland with these massive loans, bearing in mind "we" Icelandic citizens have not personally benefited at all from the debt incurred in Our name by a very small number of individuals or "Big bosses" should we be shouldering this liability in the first place??? How are we responsible for debts incurred by a bank located in Britain, whose loan book mainly comprises of British assets???

Icelanders are Norwegians in a way, and yeah i'm grateful for that and all but 40% of your food supply came from Norway which makes up for it in my opinion. Iceland is small and defenseless, basically what Britain is doing here is bullying.

The British also recived huge amount of food from Iceland during WW 2 this was of great inportanse for them Germans torpedo them as they wantet to starve the Brits hundreds of Icelanders died when bringing food to UK.. aalso Icelandic seamen somertimes came to harbour fully loaded wth men they saved from sinking warships

Our food came from the Common wealth of countries and the USA . I`m sure some icelandic fishing boats picked up the odd british crew in the water. They only did what any other mariner would do for another one. they would have been complete cunts to pass by any sailor in the water, even german.
