blightning beatdown can be exceptional in standard now, provided its played as a brutal control deck. likewise, the 3 and 4 color bant decks will have a superb arsenal of creatures to pick from.... meddling mage and the rhox who gives your creatures a turn of indestructable are huge.

I think, of course if possible,that you should have the pros talk more often..like LSV, Chapin<3!, the ruels, and a personal favorite wafo tapa...I alwayse love it when said people talk about the spoils and what not. It is interesting to see it from Nassif, the player, and Wafo tapa, the buildzor's point of view. And it doesnt have to be on camera, an email or something along those lines. Lavalanch = card desgined for BLOCK constructed. The only thing Fallout kills in block are Noble Hierarch, Tokens from a Coup, and bad/budget swarm decks. All the important cards have 3+ toughness o_0

It's a one sided board sweeper and X spell all in one. Jund Ramp would definitely take this over Volcanic Fallout as Fallout is only better against UB Faeries.

Volcanic Fallout is better. Less mana intensive, it can't be countered, and it hits players and creatures. Banefire is also better for pretty much the same reasons. To make Lavalanche do the same thing as Volcanic Fallout will cost you 5 mana, and even then it can still be countered.

As I stated, Lavalanche is better in Jund Ramp and is not for every deck. Why? Because it kills more than just 2 toughness creatures. 5cc taps out to play Broodmate Dragon, Jund Ramp taps out to kill them both and do 4 damage to your opponent.

It would cost you seven mana to kill the broodmates, and hit your opponent for 4 with lavalanche. Why not just use a martial coup and wipe the board, or hit him with a banefire for 6? You're talking about a extremely late game play. Why waste the space in your deck with it?

I'm sorry Evan but I have to disagree with your opinion on Lavalanche. It may lack uncounterability but what it lacks it gains in flexibility. It's a onesided Fallout that can literally clear your opponents side of the board while leaving you and your board untouched.
