every one is talking about the music here but i think the video is the star finally something with a real meaning and a great metaphor with a great song or cover i should say, lets face it most christian stuff lack real style but you did a very nice job of carring it with out running it into the ground and it looked a little creepy( i liked it)

I mean, Tears For Fears' 1982 single "Mad World" was fairly successful in the UK, but had poor reception in the US, but the 2001 cover of the song by Michael Andrews and Gary Jules was a big hit and is still played on US radio today.

Okay, So... Depeche Mode had originally recorded "Personal Jesus" in 1989, then was covered by Johnny Cash in 2002 and later in that same year by Gravity Kills, then the cover everyone hears on the radio now is Marilyn Manson's from 2004. I'm not saying that covers are bad. Heck, there are some covers that are better even than the originals. It's taking something from the past and paying tribute to it by making it fresh again.

"go to see who wrote this song and it will tell you martin gore of depeche did johnny cash covered it and on there it says writer (martin gore)

Sorry man... I really tried to enjoy this... I tried really hard to see that you understood what this song was about, and that you had done a great job of capturing the aura of this song, but all in all, I just didn't feel the connection. To me, your version seems to be exactly what it is: a college student's attempt at making a video for a song that they did not truly understand the underlying meaning of. You get an "A" for effort, but I think you would have done better with a different song.

I hate how people say that they ripped off Marilyn Manson. The original was done by Depeche Mode in 1997. I has since been covered by Johnny Cash, Marilyn Manson, and Gravity Kills. Perhaps more than that, as it's a song that's been covered by many. It's kinda like how Hurt has been covered by so many.
