i don't think the battles comparisons are fair for this disc, although they are for the next disc. this is really more in the tradition of late tortoise, taken to the next level.
Pivot are playing two very special shows in Sydney and Melbourne, dont miss this limited chance to hear songs from their new album. Sydney- Where: The Annandale Hotel 17 Parramatta Road, Annandale, NSW When: 8pm Thursday 1 April 2010 Tix: $26.70 * Can be purchased from the Civil Society website Melbourne- Where: East Brunswick Club Hotel 280 Lygon St, Brunswick East VIC 3057 When: 8pm Saturday 3 April 2010 Tix: $26.70 Can be purchased from the Civil Society website
Yeah their good but having not seen them live (but owning the album) I'm surprised at how like the CD this rendition is, if you believe the OZ music press their supposed to be live GODS. Perhaps the MORTAL controlled their sequencers this night.....
No not Math Rock - That would be changing time signatures and this stays 4/4 throughout... Wouldn't put a genre on it! It's just TOO awe inspiring ;-)
Saw this band last night as a support act to Gary Numan. They were so astounding that I purchased their current album - on VINLY! Would you guys like to score music for my surreal short film?!
Like, woah man, vinyl? Really? Nobody buys vinyl anymore that's so individual and cool! Also, 'score music for your surreal short film'? Could you get any lamer?
somewhat.. but everyone pisses me off.. pivot arent bad.. all they tracks seem like a build up to something epic.. but the epic pinnacle never eventuates. maybe too jazzy for me.. :p
ahah you dumb shit. can't you see sarcasm? i clearly know vinyl is back in and everyone's totally elitist about it. they're all 'hey man vinyl is better, man buy vinyl cds suck you're shit.'

Quite boring. I am a huge fan of warp records and their acts, such as grizzly bear, aphex twin, autechre, jimmy edgar, mira calix, black dog, etc et cetc etc...
This is dry and very mundane. Seen Grizzly Bear live twice, I am sure watching a video is nothing in comparison to actually being there but the song presented (if being the cream of their crop) is weak.
Sorry I know critiquing here on youtube is not taken well (such as the thumbs down nonsense) but at least I have warranted reason. D-
Was up late two nights ago watching rage with a few friends after a movie and this song came on. Absolutely loved it and haven't stopped listening to it since xD

I don't think thay are sooo great musicians to do this castrated, softmind stuff, they have to get vocalist or more guitarists, or anything else more, cozz now it is not a bad music - but only for CD, for the concert they are too dull and look like they want to do something more, but still look like immobilize or dispirited; compositions and the consonance are too poor to build the song on its foundation.
these guys r great i saw them at he bakery - perth WA then there coming again this friday would really dig some vinyl the lighting at this gig looks great i like that their up higher . sounds good too can't wait till this friday
saw these guys in Birmingham, October 9th. it was a really small venue, so you got chance to be up close. My devotchka and I viddied well these partisans three.
was definitely a great gig, very glad to have heard this track live. recordings of the live performance just aren't the same!
i look forward to hearing more from these guys and attending more gigs! come back to England sometime soon!
Amazing!
