i have to make a campaign vid. for my AP Gov't class on the election of 1824 and i couldnt find anything on john quincy adams so this totally helped :)
Jackson lost his pa just before he was born... while Mrs. Jackson was expecting with Andrew, Mr. Jackson was injured and took sick trying to work their small piece of land. Later, Andrew and his brother fought in the American Revolution, and then he lost his brother, who died after contracting illness on a prison ship. If not for relatives, Mother and son could hardly have survived! Y'all should read about this Andrew Jackson because he is right interesting!! Prof Remini has a real good book
Yes, Quincy was a fine man, no doubt. Pedigreed and patrician, and decent too!! A skilled and gracious, cultured and highly successful creature. Yet, I also find AJ a most splendid gentleman. The state of Florida he secured for us, via military prowess and drive. Also holds for vast other territories we now seldom reflect upon. A true friend of the people and conquering hero! Wife Rachel rescued from abusive (psychopathic) spouse as innocent girl. An exceptional wife and lady, as was Mom
I gotta say that I loved this! "We're not saying he's a bastard, but we ARE saying his mother was a prostitute." And people think politics these days is rough.
he devoted his life serving the public
its rare to see this now
