  • When I saw this movie for the first time, I thought, even before this scene, that this IS the definition of who Batman is supposed to be. And then I saw this scene and thought "No, THIS is the definition of who Batman is, or at least in a nutshell."

  • ANSWER ME HOBITSES XD

  • You know that Flass threw up that cheap sandwich after the video ended.

  • If only Adam West was like this....

  • He fell on his falafel at the end

  • Great Acting by Bale.

  • SILLY SILLY DRUUGS

  • WHERE.. WERE THE OTHER DRUGS GOING?.. FUCK-FACE?

  • Does that piece of hotdog on his lip bother anyone else?

  • you know whats weird? i wanted to see this scene because of "Batman chooses his voice" and yet im actually watching the scene on the computer instead of my psp go right next to me

  • gotta admit heat ledger and christian bale together ina scene?- pre gold man PURE FUCKING GOLD

  • Why are people even complaining about his voice?. Batman really is supposed to sound like that, he's interrogating criminals, not offering coffee to them.

  • 0:35

The only reason I watched this..

  • His voice is perfect. those of you who are complaining about his dark voice is not a hardcorde batman fan. It's supposed to sound like that, if you look at the 90's cartoon version of batman he speaks like that too. Its in the old comics.

  • i don't find it scary really. i find it very funny. maybe if i were in that cop's place i would.

  • BRING BACK FLASS FOR TDKR

  • @blaklodge i'd like to see harvey bullock since batman is on the run. detective bullock would be a great antagonist.

  • I used to eat Falafels for breakfast. Never again.

  • " I swear to batman, that if you dont put that shit down. I will fucking blo..."

  • Thumbs up if this video made you hungry for a falafel

  • seriosly, the batman is fucking scary

  • inverted takedown

  • @anthonyytruong LMAO

  • These scenes really look fake. Its obvious its a soundstage.

  • @Havermayer it's a fucking movie lmao

  • Flass is actually quite athletic in the comics. But then the scene here might not have worked as effectively. i hope we'll get to see Bullock in the next one.

  • @Regenmacher175 yes I thought that was weird too. I think they maybe mixed flass with bullock. because flass was a former green beret in the comics.

could be fun to see officer branden in the next batman. this trigger-happy zealot swat guy who batman brought to justice at some point

  • @lemmedasker wasn't he the guy whose leg batman broke at one point in Year One?

  • @Regenmacher175

if you're talking about branden, batman sedates him with a poisoned dart when he's taking out the swat team in the abandoned building. the whole team suffers from broken bones, could be what you're thinking about. he also punches a guy through a wall, breaking 5 ribs

flass, batman roughs him up when interrupting some drug deal that flass is supervising. much like in batman begins.

I just went through my copy of year one and couldnt find anything about a broken leg in particular.

  • @lemmedasker yeah i was thinking about teh guy with the broken ribs. That was Sergeant Frank Pratt actually who got killed by The Hangman in Dark Victory.

  • @Regenmacher175

ah yes. dark victory. what a brilliant follow-up to the equally brilliant the long halloween. guess Im gonna give them a read, it's been a while.

year one, imho, remains the most complete and well-rounded batman story. you can tell where the nolan brothers get inspiration from!

though it's not exactly like I'm the first guy saying this, haven't met any batman fan not sharing this opinion.

on second thought, TDKR could be a contender.

  • @Regenmacher175 Yeah and killer croc, yeah!

  • DO I LOOK LIKE A COP?

  • The one who disliked this video must be that fat guy.

  • people can complain about bale's voice, but it rrrreeeeaaaally works in this scene. I remember seeing this in theaters when it came out and I was finally kinda scared by Batman!

  • Batman is the definition of badass. Period.

  • Batman is so tough in this scene that I've considered changing my sexual orientation.

  • @glimpus XDDDDDDDDDDDDD

  • SWEAAAAAAAAR TO MEEE!

    *growl*

  • I bet the neighbors was like "what the hell's goin on out there?"

  • batman's voice in dark knight was accurate. It had shrillness animal quality. An intimidating feature shown in the comics. Which forces his victims listen closely to what he's saying. So his victims are distracted by his voice. Creepy. If it was crystal clear it would've made him sound like a normal person and that wouldn't scare or distract anyone would it? An example would be if a lion can talk it would have a hard shrill voice that's intimating to hear.

  • It would have been funny if Flass thought Batman saw him steal the money from the guy. Then he would have said:"I didn't mean to steal the money.I'll give it back. Can I please get my falafel?

    Batman:F**K YOUR FALAFEL!!!! lol

  • Any douche that comments on batmans voice needs smacked....Bale NAILS it...Batman is supposed to scare the shit out of you....when i saw the scene in Batman Begins when he hoists the fat crooked cop in the alleyway and starts to scream at him....it scared the shit out of me....because THAT is what the batman does...Keaton was great....but even HE didnt grasp the Dark Knights character like Bale does...

  • Well I'd like 6to point out to those anti bal voice people that this one and TDK had two entirely different Batman voices. I'd say he nailed it in Begins, but why he had to go over the top with it in TDK is beyond me.

  • @TheSteelStallion well.....as a batman collector of over 30 years....that has a full run on batman from 119 to the present issue, detective comics 200 to the present issue, and a full run of brave and the bold....i can honestly say Bale IS batman....Batmans voice is NOT over the top in either film...he is supposed to scare the shit out of you ,, even if you are a good citizen....he should scare the shit out of you...which is what bale did...

  • @harveydents ...someone scares too easily then. Like I said, he had the voice fine in this. TDK not so.

  • "SWEAR TO ME!!!!!" Man, Bats should be this scary more often.

  • Swear To Me is more badass than anything Chuck Norris has said

  • Funny how after he hit the ground from about 2 inches up he moans and groans like he actually fell from all the way up where Batman was.

  • @Stlcards789 He moaned because landing like that on concrete can hurt. If he fell from where batman was then we would be dead not moaning and groaning.

  • This is my favorite part of the movie!

  • I hope they put something like this you can do in batman arkham 2

  • You know what they say: "Heaven has no rage like love to hatred turned / Nor hell a fury like a pissed off Batman!!.......True Story."

  • in a smokers voice..."WHERE ARE THE OTHER DRUGS GOIN"?! "SWEAR TO ME"!!!!! cough cough

  • So this is where Bats learned to interrogate people.

Too bad it didn't prepare him for The Joker.

  • do you guys swear youre going to rate bale's performance as batman a 5 out of 5?!

    "yes i swear to god!"

    SWEAR TO MEEEEEE!

    "AHHHHHHHH!~"

    lol

  • Batman:DO I LOOK LIKE A COP

    Dec.flass: AHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

    LOL

  • Dude I gotta fucking watch this movie again.

  • :23...that is the start of the funniest screams i've heard in a movie!!! way too funny!!!

  • I cant help it but when Batman drops him and brings him back up...I just kept thinking that guy was like Batman's yo-yo! :D The "SWEAR TO ME!!" line gets me everytime

  • I say it to little freshmen in high school lol.

  • Haha I bet that gets some frightened/confused looks

  • I've Had a girl scream rape, thats when that ride ended.. lol But yeah they look at me like Im going to bite thier head off. I grabbed thier shoulders and everything lolz

  • lol nice, id say not so for them though lol

  • I wonder if Detective Flass was inspired by Lt. Eckhardt from the original comics/movie.

  • I was skeptical at first about Bale being Bats, but he fucking nails it. Some poeple say this scene is stupid, but in the comics, Batman acts like this, just scarier and not funny at all. I me and my Bro in law always shake our heads fast and brutal right before saying this line lol

  • The expression on Bale's face at 0:45 alone puts him above Keaton.

  • Comment removed

  • Best Batman in my opinion is Keaton then Bale then Kilmer and Clooney's never existed to me.

  • i agree... i mean it's probably more to do with the fact i loved batman when i was 5. And keaton was the first batman i knew. Bale is exceptional and more darker tho. Keaton only get's it by nostalgia for me but bale is prob a more deeper batman. The deepest.

  • george clooney can suck a nut tho. He almost killed the franchise.

  • best...batman....line.....ever

seriously me and my dad love it

    say all the time

  • I hope that one day I will get to say "SWEAR TO ME!" like that to someone. It's my lifes dream lol

  • helll yeah

  • lol.....isn't it everybody's dream to say the perfect christian bale line?

  • Look at how Bale shakes before he bursts his words.....just brutal perfection of pissed off'ness

  • i think bale does a better job then clooney and kilmer

  • You "think"? Jeasus, he nails Batman

  • o...k w/e

  • i didnt know Jesus had an A in it

  • yeah, it does.

  • SWEAR TO ME!

  • my favorite scene

  • This was the scene that really convinced me that Christian Bale really nailed the role of Batman.

  • Iagine George Clooney doing this scene, if I were Flass I would have laughed my ass off.

  • Though at time Bale over does the voice, I think it's approriate because it really gives Batman a primal fury to his mantra and thats how he should be, he should seem like a monster to his foes.

  • Love it!

That's how Batman is in the comic, he's a nightmare to criminals.

  • best interrogator ever

  • When Batman asked "Where are the other drugs?!" it reminded me of the interrogation scene between him and The Joker from "The Dark Knight," when he beat him, demanding where Dent and Rachel were.

  • batman is badass

  • batman is above god lmao

  • great movie =)

  • 'Do i look like a cop!?'

    haha so nice

  • i love that line. "Swear to me!"

  • This face is so scaring!!! But you should hear the voice from the voice from the german version! It's incredible! Best scene from the film! I love it and always gives me the heebie-jeebies!

  • I know, a friend of mine said that the voice is a bit unrealistic, but it fits nice actually!

  • great acting. you can see the anger coming from bale.

  • when i get pissed i get loud but batman gets like a lion- i gotta try that

  • This has got to be one of my favorite moments from Batman Begins. It actually scared me, he sounds like an angry lion!

  • Dang, Bale could be the frontman to a screamo band.

  • "SWEAR TO ME!!!!" and "Do I look like a cop!?" have to be some of the funniest/best lines in a movie ever

  • this is probably the best way to make someone confess

  • 'Do I Look Like a Cop'. hahahha das a classic

  • "Do I look like a cop?" LMAO i love that part.

  • now this is something ive been saying police need to do more bad cop interigation

  • Agreed. Do you think it is possible for someone to have the neccessary technology/equipment/gear/training to stand up like a 'Batman figure and gaurdian knight of the city' against criminals out there where the police fail (have no evidence to prosecute or too scared to venture to arrest certain dangerous criminals)?? That would put the police force to shame if a one man vigilante-out for 'JUSTICE' man could do what the police fail to do

  • Never going to happen. But that would be damn cool!

  • agreed, But you're wrong - 'it will happen', mark my words.

  • Yeah, I think that's why people like Batman so much because theoretically he can be emulated. You just need a shitload of cash.

  • I wish could do it. Your right, I don't have the cash, and the fitness/strength/stamina for it.

  • and years of training

  • @ryuencrash And did you see how much revenue The Dark Knight generated? We might just see Bale becoming Batman for real!

  • @ryuencrash hahaha good point

  • @ryuencrash Yeah and genius IQ, both mental and physical and perfection, and a never ending desire for justice ;)

  • @ryuencrash and a shit ton of training which in some ways could be just as difficult as getting the cash needed lol.

  • @ryuencrash I agree, however,if you were to go by the comic mythology in order to truly emulate him one must have physically perfected himself at the edge of being super human and, have a genius level intellect. If anything I think the easiest part of being him is having the money. Mainly because I dont know any CEO's with the physical appearance of a body builder :)

  • adonde iban las otras drogas?!?!?!?!

  • batman is above god

  • batman's a G.

  • SWEAR TO ME!!!

  • Few things are scarier than a pissed off Batman.

  • yeah, like an "even more pissed off" batman.

  • lol

  • Yes, like when batman's blood boils lol

  • "Batman could totally kick your ass. And it doesn't even matter who you are."

  • great scene great movie great Batman this is the real one.....

  • lol "DO I LOOK LIKE A COP!!?!"

  • Pretty much my favourite scene from the movie... that was kick-ass!

  • SAME :D

  • i swear i nearly crapped my pants in this scene bale even scared me lol

  • Re: falafel comments below. Wow, you guys are ignorant.

  • This is the best scene in film history. Batman is so hardcore.

  • batman is fucking fuming

moral of the clip: Don't steal falafel

  • why did this mU51cFAN fool reply to his own question?

  • ROFL.

  • what the *beep* is falafel?

  • it's a hot dog dimwit

  • Ummm... No, it's not.

  • Some kind of indian food. A fried ball or patty made from spiced fava beans and/or chickpeas, served in pita bread. It's quite popular as fast food in several countries.

  • It actually originated in the Middle East, beginning in Egypt I think. The Greeks and Indians took the idea and basically liked it so much and made some of their own. Same way with the pita bread

  • The best scene in the whole movie.

  • Great perfomance, voice, actor, director, scene, movie,... Batman are back !!!

  • agreed 100 % bale is the man!!!! he is batman!!! not the best batman!!! he is the only one for the roll

  • Every time I see this scene I get... a craving for falafel.

  • Thank you Christopher Nolan. You were sent from GOD to save the Batman franchise from the servants of Satan, Joel Schumacher and George Cloony.

This is what Batman should be.

  • LMAO

  • let's be fair, at least Clooney will give your money back personally if you saw Batman and Robin

  • he better

  • you are 100% right

  • SWEAR TO ME!!

I agree... one of my favorite scenes in one of my favorite movies. Batman forever!!

  • i agree best scene, that voice amazing

  • BEST FUCKING SCENE in COMIC BOOK MOVIE HISTORY THIS IS BATMAN!!!! I get chills every time I see this scene!!

  • Do I look like a cop?
