  • I grew up as a child with the original "Star Wars" triology movies and never really knew(untill recently reading tribute magazines about late actress,Elizabeth Taylor) actress Carrie Fisher's father is this man,Eddie Fisher(Carrie Fisher played "Princess Lea",Luke Skywalker's twin sister and also the daughter of dark lord of the Sith,"Darth Vader").

  • What is the name of this song?

  • Forever For You -Hall & Oats

  • Goodness me, there's a lot of venom towards Liz Taylor here. It's easy to see her as some sort of temptress, but Eddie left his wife and family freely and suffered the consequences. Liz and Debbie have put it behind them, and are still enjoying flourishing careers and full lives, and good on them!

  • Debbie was very sweet and charming and deserved nothing but the bes! eddie is scum he might have had talent but a rotten and cheap personality will get you nowhere , elizabeth was alot of things and being fickle was one of them he should have seen and probably did see it coming that her options are always open

  • It's interesting that both Debbie Reynolds' and Elizabeth Taylor's careers soared and Eddie's sunk to the virtual bottom.

Also interesting is the fact that Liz had Debbie with her at her 75th birthday party in Las Vegas. The girls are now long reconciled with one another, and poor Eddie Fisher is lord knows where. He wrote very badly about both of them in his book ---- but I doubt whether either Debbie or Liz care in the least.

  • I was only 10 when Eddie Fisher left Debbie Reynolds for Elizabeth Taylor......At my tender age, I felt the pain Debbie Reynols had been experiencing......she sang Am I That Easy To Forget which actually was directed to her husband Eddie Fisher... This song by Debbie became very popular in 1960-61.

  • Don't want to be argumentative but , Dungaree Doll is wrong. Elisabeth does not only have her dogs...she has children and grandchildren who love her...and any way whats wrong with dogs loving you ?

  • does anyone know why Elizabeth has such negative feelings about Eddie Fisher ? I have never understood her complete negation of him. fishr ?

  • Karma for sure! Eddie Fisher was a great talent--but he sure got what was coming to him when he left Debbie Reynolds for E.T....

  • I have always been saddened that Eddie's Career was destroyed..and Frank Sinatra took over his place in the theatrical world..In my opinion Eddie had twice the voice Frank ever did and Twice the personality..worse I don't know of anyone else's career being taken from them over private happenings in their lives. Eliz. Taylor's Marrying so many and dropping them when she found a new love...What goes around comes around is right.Poetic Justice prevailed.

  • @JourneyOneTwo he got what was coming to him

  • Eddie Fisher is living proof of Karma. He broke up his marriage and destroyed his own career for the beautiful Elizabeth Taylor. The minute she saw Richard Burton, she threw Eddie Fisher under a bus and never looked back. Unfortunately, Eddie Fisher never got over her. To this day, his kids hate his guts. Debbie Reynold's got the last laugh, she is still working and close to their children.

What goes around comes around is right!

  • @oceanhfcb

did u gt in contact wiv him???????

  • Hi Iris,

Did you see Eddie in Falls Church, Virginia in the late 1970's? Because I saw him there at a small night club. Eddie's wife Betty Lin died in April of 2001. He has never re-married. Connie is still alive and she and Eddie have always been friendly despite their divorce. Eddie's 4th wife was Terry Richard and their marriage did not last long. She was very young and she was in the audience at the show I saw.

  • Tremendous Video

  • is that richard burton on the second :44 ?

did they knew eachother already and were friends?

  • Yes, that is Richard Burton. They all met in September 1961...at the start of Cleopatra. Richard and Elizabeth's affair started in January 1962. Eddie left Elizabeth in April 1962. They divorced in March 1964.

  • someone said that eddie left elizabeth but she left him right? is it true that all liz husbands beat her up? i just can believe richard and mike tood did it too :(

  • I think eddie loved elizabeth because she was beyond beautiful. all the loves in her life have loved that aspect. eddie would have followed elizabeth to the end of the earth. but...then came richard burton

  • @richardbassett1956 I just heard a clip by Eddie Fisher with Larry King. Eddie said that Liz was the love of his life. I think we can see from some photos that there was a strong love between the two.

  • Liz is the one who should be pitied. After the kind of life she led. She was on drugs and possibly still is. Eddie did have 10 years of love with a wonderful woman, before she passed away. Liz has only her dog. She is to be pitied. No man would want her now.But she did enjoy her life. In Eddie's books I don't think he said he liked Liz, he said he thought she was a spoiled brat. She pounced on Eddie, she knew Eddie's marriage was a sham. I would not pity Eddie, as much as Liz.

  • don't you think he is talking out of anger? because she left him for another man.

because he looks really bad if he talks bad about her, he married her, if he thought all of those things about her and did not liked her why in the hell will he leave his FAMILY for her?

  • you are absolutely rigth, "What goes around, comes around" and he deserve it. Is NOT OK for a gentleman to talk like that about a woman, no matter who she is, a REAL MAN will never do that

  • Hello dungareedoll,

By the way, I love your name, and Eddie Fisher made such a great song with that title, as you know.

Who was the wonderful woman that Eddie Fisher had ten years with before she died. The only wives I know about are Debbie Reynolds, Elizabeth Taylor, Connie Stevens (I hope she is alive), and a fourth wife who was very young when my husband and I saw him with her when he was singing in VA. He still had a great voice.

    Thanks.

    Iris

  • No, Eddie did not love Liz back in 1956. He only fell for him when she started chasing him after Mike's death. Maybe she wanted a change,a man who did not beat her as some of her other husbands did, including Mike. His marriage to Debbie was not stable, Debbie is not what people think she is. She deserved what she got...when Eddie left her. Connie never bamed Eddie for their divorce, she always defended him. Eddie has been of drugs for years.

  • All you have to do is look at the photo's of Mike/Liz/Eddie in 1956 and 1957 to see his love for Liz, but she was Mike Todd's girl, not so much he was Debbie Reynolds husband. It is so obvious and he alludes to it in each autobiography. Mike Todd's death gave him a reason to swoop in. Five marriages and a life of drug abuse. His career virtually ended in 1958. There was no redemption...even. He didn't even try to create a 'comeback'. He is sad and I pity his life now.

  • After Eddie's divorce from Liz, he married 3 more times. His last marriage ended when his wife passed away but she was the best thing to ever happen to him. Liz was never any good and now that she is an old hag...she is trying to make amends for the people she hurt especially Eddie and Sybil Burton. Liz was a very selfish child when Mike Todd died and did not know what she wanted.

  • I think she was in mourning and Eddie took advantage of her. He had always loved her...starting back into 1956. I am not saying neither was a saint, but Eddie gave up his own children...just walked out on them. He did the same thing with his two children with Connie Stevens...just gone. He was also a speed addict for decades. When Elizabeth left him, it was poetic justice in terms of Debbie Reynolds. In 1964, both woman laughed at him. Old age softens people, though.

  • I think eddie fisher is an idiot. He should've known better and not leave his wife and family to marry the widow of his late friend.

He deserved what came afterwards. And besides, didn't liz say all they did was talk about mike?? pathetic.

  • You're right. In 1961, Elizabeth nearly died of pneumonia. After that ordeal she she she wanted more than Eddie could give her. They were both married to a memory and Elizabeth knew it was time to move forward and not live in the past. Between 1962-1964, Eddie Fisher made it very difficult for her. He went on to marry several more time. Richard Bassett
