  • 4:39 Jolly roger one is so sexy

  • F-14 is an awesome jet!

  • I wouldn't exactly say that the F-111B program was unsuccessful. lol

  • ANYTIME BABY!!!!!!

  • i wish philippine airforce has this jet!

  • beautyfull fighter plane ever!!!

  • Noticing that the user's name is flighsimer (flight simmer?) didn't make me stop watching this.

The massively over-used "Danger Zone" didn't make me stop watching this.

The appalling use of the English language in "The F-14 was made originally made to..." didn't make me stop watching this.

I stopped watching as soon as I realised it was a slideshow, and not a video.

    I can't stand YouTube slideshows.

    Tomcat forever.

  • Great planes come along every 20 years.....The F-14 Tomcat, once in a lifetime!

    R.I.P but never forgotten

  • Hey man you forgot to mention the movie The Final Countdown! i love that movie and the cam views of the F 14s ....

The longest in service F14 is right by my house in a museum the name is Christine. i have stood next to her and it felt awesome to be up close to one. was a dream come true. RIP all the rest of F14s.

  • deam I miss those F14 whit skull on the tail

  • when I'm back, and see this kind of videos, I feel really sad

I love F-14 so much! God Bless you Knight Fighter!

p.s.: thanks for the movie was amazing!

  • The most memorable experience of my short 22 years on this Earth was the chance to sit on board a carrier deck in the cockpit of one of these beautiful machines. Granted the aircraft was no longer in service neither was the ship (CVS-12 Hornet), but it was still great to imagine what it would have been like to fly one. Anytime Baby!!!

  • When i watch Top Gun, the scenes with this plane turns me on. But the sex scene with that blonde bitch doesn't.

    .

I think i have a problem, you know...

  • @Raziel5 lol i have the same problem :P

  • @Raziel5

+1 for being a LoK fan.

And +313,514,358,459,814,634,219,617 for being a Tomcat fan.

  • I will run for president in a few years. And you will all know who I am, because I promise that when elected, it will not be the wars, or the UN crises, or dealing with the teabaggers that I handle.

As President of the United States of America, I hereby promise each and every citizen of the United States that I will reinstate the Tomcat. Vote for me.

  • @Rasmorak You have my vote!!!!!!!!

  • @Rasmorak hahaha I'll totally vote for you!

  • could it be that this jet was its time ahaed ? See , 1974 wasnt that the time of those crappy old mig 15's ?

  • @Eiscakeman ....nop the MiG 15 was made in 1947

  • If you want to use them then

    Join iraqi air force :D

  • That is one sexy jet

  • i remember the days on cv62 watching the tomcats at night full afterburner from vulters row being proud to be a US Salior!!!

  • Billionaires can buy it? XD

  • Comment removed

  • @Tomcatsux4ever thats pretty funny as the planes today still cant do some of the things it did.

  • I sure loved the Tomcat, but the Hornet is cool too!

  • Simply the most beautiful plane that ever existed.. She has grace, style and punchpower. Ty for these sweet, sweet pictures of her.

  • fuck u wmg

  • @Tomcatsux4ever omg we know you dont like the f14

dont shit on each video of the people

    get a life man

  • @Tomcatsux4ever and you are a dumb fuck dick sucking faggot.

  • Comparing F-14 and F-22 would not be fair. F-14 flew since 1970's. I am wondering, theoretically, if which fighter would win between the most updated brand new F-14 and a brand new F-22 ? My guess goes that F-22 (or F-35) would not be dominant over F-14 as they predict. What do you folks think?

  • @gkimmd1 my opinion is that the F-22 would probably easily beat the F-14 A, B and D, however if the quickstrike had been made i believe with the improvements that were publicized it would be a lot closer and possibly a very close match-up such as the equality of the F-14 and F-15.

  • @gkimmd1 Its the armament and computer systems that give the raptor the edge. I love the tomcat she was my first model airplane sleek lines and a sexy profile made her eye candy for sure. To be honest though with the Raptors BVR capabilities and multi fire and forget targeting system the tomcat dont have a chance.

  • The Tomcats survived another 20 years because the F-15N Sea Eagle (Naval F-15) I believe was cancelled.

  • thanks for the memories F-14.i was on the Saratoga CV-60 1993-94.F-14 puts on a show for its crew indeed.

  • @rome71rome My dad was on the Saratoga carrier from '86 to '91!

  • @Fishingstyle101 yeah i miss ole" sorry Sara"

  • @rome71rome thanks 60, I was on 64 ;-) Connie.

BTW, I always ask people which Carrier had the best decommissioning? CV-3 Saratoga

    What an honor :-)

  • @bobbycv64 we had the best decomissioning ceremony .we had the"Temptations"!lots of food and everything else!

  • @rome71rome you might of had a nice decom, and we had a nice decom, but the winner of all is CV-3 Saratoga. They got nuked, literally ;-)

    Go here: on youtube dmw1TjX6ZOk

  • @ The scrumpty, I think a gentleman you debated with, named "okisoba", may be a Japanese. Soba in Japanese means, I think, "buckwheat noodle". I may be wrong, but the word is definitely Japanese. He probably had flown a rise-buner plane(haha). I enjoy reading the debate on this site. To me, F-14 is the best fighter. Btw, another gentleman named "Dobupsa" sounds like a Korean. Thank you all for your military service for the country!!!

  • @gkimmd1 I'm American, I lived in Japan when I made this account. Regardless, nationality doesn't mean crap when it comes to the credibility of people on youtube.

  • @okisoba I sincerely apologize it. I did not mean to look down on your credibility or Japanese nationality at all. I just happen to know some Japanese and Korean languages and I got carried away. I am truly sorry for making you feel bad.

  • @gkimmd1 No worries don't need to apologize. I didn't feel bad, haha. I wanted to point out that the credentials people claim to have on a forum like youtube are difficult to prove, unless someone gets out of his or her way to do it. Sorry, I'm stuck at home all weekend so I'm spending way too much time on the internet.

  • Angry because you can't admit the truth that the F-14 is a piece of shit. LOLK

  • Your the piece of shit! Cant believe you even got the guts to say that to the world. Your a member of Sir Dickhead Cheney. We cant have you here. Fuck Off!

  • @delanyify you think the navy wasn't asking for a new fighter when the only reason the F14s could beat the migs was because of our better trained pilots. With the legacy fighters now on the same playing field or even inferior to the newest SU class russian jets, we need newer better planes. We need to stay ahead and whether or not the military is asking for it, politicians must make sure we are staying one, or in the raptors case, several steps ahead of the enemy.

  • nah its the truth. F-14 is the biggest most useless piece of shit ever to fly for the navy. Im not a fan or a member of Dick Cheney, but he made the right choice removing that piece of shit off the carrier before it took up too much room. It's kinda cute when you get angry, too

Oh btw F-14 is a HUGE PIECE OF SHIT LOL

  • Wow! You could see me when I comment? Well teach me sometimes, ok?

  • @Tomcatsux4ever yeah tell that the Russians who feared it. Not to mention the fact that it out performs the F-18 SH. The F-14 was an amazing plane and by far still one of the best that has ever flown.

  • @Scrumpty, I believe that you were a US Navy pilot and I salute to you for your service for this great nation. I am not an expert of the fighters as many others are, including you, on this site. Just visiting this site and reading the article, that is written by an expert such as you, gives me a great joy. Thank you for your service, again.

  • @ Scrumpty, I totally believe what you said. It's like a listening to a seasoned surgeon about a puzzled surgical procedure. Thank you for providing us (Tomcat lovers) with an accurate information about what really had happened to Tomcat, F-14. Your comment cleared my puzzle about the foggy destiny of the F-14's. I still firmly believe that F-14 shouldn't have been retired. @ Scrumpty, don't go away, but stay with this site and keep providing us with correct information.

  • oh i am not going anywhere

  • good times seeing this, brings back memories... VF-154 KNIGHTS BABY!

feels good to see my paint jobs on display here....

  • I am one of those who love the Tomcats. I wonder if what would happen when Iranian F-14s' and F-22's, F-18's, or F-35's may engage in a dog fight. I would like to see it. Everyone (at least most of you) would think that F-14's will be defeated because they are old and crumsy turkeys, but you'd never know.

  • Yeah... Tomcats would win.

  • not against our us navy pilots.

  • I know a Navy Aviator when I see one. He's not a pilot. Come on, You guys just cant admit that the Tomcat and Super Hornet are very equal fighters. They are/were both front line fighters of the US Navy. But there's quite a few whole on his story.

  • If the Tomcat and the Super Hornets are equal fighters, why did they retire the Tomcats? Because its old? Because Cheney said so? Because McDonnell Douglas said so? Or because you said so? What? Dont be a dick, dick.

  • F-14 is a piece of shit

  • however, she rallies from certain. I've watcher this movie free @ Movie Watcher [.] US

  • I know that the F-14s are retired, but does that mean that they are not flying anymore or are they just not making anymore? Because I have always wanted to fly them. They are my favorite plane, always have been, always will be!!!

  • They have officially retired them. They are no longer in use. You are right when u asked if they are still in use. Some planes are retired, no longer made, but are still in use. But the Navy offically retired the F-14 and are no longer in use. I know it's sad because the F-14 will always be my favorite fighter jet.

  • @mjt19741 The F-14 is my favorite interceptor!

  • The f-14 is still in use in Iran, so it's still used.

  • @spanish111japan I didn't know they are still used in Iran. Thanks.

  • np :)

  • @mjt19741 the plane was still in use in Iran. there are about 55

F14 was not outdated, and not too expensive to maintain, just as lobbyists did a good job of politicians to adopt the F18 as a naval aircraft instead of F14 right flying cat. FOREVER F14

  • @galicije83 I saw someone had posted there are still some F-14's in use in Iran.

    Thanks for the info.

  • @mjt19741 yeah they operated with 25 and 30 is in reserve. Iran air forse lost 14 tomcat in IRAN-IRAQ war in 1980s. they both from US 80 but the U.S. delivered 79 aircraft. last has never left the mainland U.S Iranian revolution in 1979. Iran is the nineties managed to almost all the Tomcat service but because of sanctions by the United States had to destroy 10 Tomcat unfortunately for spare parts. tomcets shot down in this war ~130 IRAQIAN planes. their 81 Airsquadron was best....

  • @galicije83 Alright thanks for the info. I didn't know that Iran lost 14 in the Iran-Iraq war in the 80's.

  • @mjt19741 actually neither side won or lost, it was a stalemate.

  • @galicije83 F-14 was pretty expensive to maintain simply because of the swing wings same with the F-111 which required upwards of 200 hours maintenance for 1 hour flown. Crazy but worth it.

  • The F-14 is still being used by Iran, I know; undeserving right?

  • No, we called it the Turkey

  • @SuperHornetTV Turkey ? why ? are u a real navy pilot ?

  • You gatto love WMG!

  • I wish the Navy had never retired it. The F-18 hornet is awesome, but never as great as the F-14.

  • @mjt19741 Well if the Navy was in need of an interceptor, they would create a new aircraft.

  • They reitred it for the F-22 Raptor which is used by the Air Force, but now the F-22 is being retired for somethinelse. The F-14 is still and always will be my favorite

  • the reason they did not create a replacement for the tomcat is they already had a top notch interceptor

  • @TheScrumpty Oh really? Then why did the E/F Super Hornets intended to replace the Tomcat then? This had nothing to do with politics and Dick Cheney. Why? Because this was during the Bill Clinton era. It was the US Navy who designed the Super Hornet to intentionally replace the Tomcat.

  • no it was not it was developed to fix a lot of existing problems with the legacy hornets most prevently range and the extensive refueling support the hornet needs, among other problems that i cant get into in only 500 words, but mcdonell douglas decided a new airframe made larger would accomodate more fuel and increase the range 350 nautical miles, what they ended up getting was a 35 nautical mile range increase, it was never supposed to replace the tomcat or the A-6 and yes it was politics

  • @TheScrumpty did i say anything about the alpha/bravo/charlie versions? I don't think so. What part of politics has nothing to do with the Super Hornet do you not understand? And how much research did yo do during those 47 minutes did you do about my comment before this? And also. What part of speed and range is the only problem with the Super Hornet do you not understand?

  • wow i did not realise i was on your time clock and i could not visit other threads, and yes politics had a tremendous amoount to do with superhornet, i dont have to research i was there unlike you, and the speed and range problem are only the most prevelent problems with hornet, something superhornet did not fix, and the superhornet was never supposed to replace either the F-14 or the A-6, it cant replace either of them effectivly and should not have been forced to

  • by the way dude the navy does not design aircraft, that is not what the military does, it evaluates a new design and utilises the piece of equipment in combat, it does not design anything and it was not supposed to ever replace the tomcat but mcdonell douglas lobyists convinced dick cheney that the superhornet could do a better job than the tomcat, he was an idiot for believing them

  • @TheScrumpty Okay. 1. Dick Cheney, who was never CNO, SECNAV, or commander-in-chief has ZERO JURISDICTION or power to replace anything in the US Military. Only the 3 mentioned above has the right. And the Super Hornet can do a better job than the Tomcat. No lie. The Super Hornet pilots even say so!

  • no he was vice president and most certainly did have jurisdiction and power to do away wit tomcat and intruder, and just because superhornet pilots say so does not make it true man, superhornet can do what job better than the tomcat? fight? no. drop bombs? perhaps. in flight refueling? yes they can, they have to they get a lot of practice with that one, intercept? no way. air superiority fighter? not a chance, just cause it is newer does not necessarily make it better.

  • @TheScrumpty You know what? There is no way to convince you that the Super Hornet is more capable than the Tomcat. I'm done with you.

  • you will never convince me of something that is not the truth sorry to bust your bubble and i was wrong i got an E-mail from one of my old squadron mates and he says that the U.S. navy HAS fired 2 pheonix missiles in combat and shot down 2 iraqi migs, i have not been able to confirm that it was a squadron i was assigned to but i had already left and was on my shore duty in the hornet squadron i flew in for 2 years, i will let you know if i can confirm the information i just got

  • @TheScrumpty Look. On paper, it's the best missile because of its statistics. But in the real-world, its the worst missile created. Why? Because they shoot, but never destroy their target. In 1999, 2 F-14 Tomcats shot 2 phoenix missiles at 2 MIG-25's. The never scored any kills. People are lying to you. And if you were retired, give me your name. Just message it to me.

  • actually i just looked it up and i still dont call that confirmation i am going to call the CO of the squadron at the time later today, but my buddy said they did in fact shoot down both of those migs but like i said i wont consider it confirmed till i hear it from my old CO and no i am not giving you my name you dont need my name

  • @TheScrumpty Okay. So then how do I know your lying then?

  • i have a better question for you. how do you know that i dont give a damn wheather you think i am lying? answer is easy, i dont care if you think i am lying or not. is that all you can do is accuse everyone that does not believe the same thing as you believe of lying? we all get it you like the superhornet, the question i have for you is WHY? or do you even know why you have stuck your loyality in a plane you have never flown?

  • you know i have noticed something evry former F-14 pilot that has posted here you and a short list of others all call us liars and come to find out none of you have served in the military and are getting your information from at best 3rd hand resources, probably 4th or fifth hand sources, while we are first hand sources? why is that? you and your cronies continually say that we have not served? what gives you the right to impune our service when you have not served?

  • @TheScrumpty fail

  • @SOCOMSNIPER33 what are you talking about?????????????????

  • @TheScrumpty No your just one of those web losers who like to talk it up. You haven't been there you haven' done that......lame

  • @Atankable and you are who? the next person who thinks they know what they are talking about i am sure you are one of those, but please try to understand this, i dont care what you or anyone else thinks, i know what i am, what i have done, my accomplishments, and what i have achieved in my life and career, sorry you and the others cant say the same for yourselves, but i did realize one thing, winning an argument on youtube is like winning the special olympics, even if u win u r still retarted

  • @TheScrumpty Dude I will tell you right now I never served in the military. I do not need an electronic johnson stroking to feel like a macho man. I have family that served and is still serving grats to them and TY to all that did serve. You my friend have spouted babble on this whole thing trying to look cool on the webs. Your response to a VALID fact that tore your argument to shreds was to ignore it and say well " actually i just looked it up and i still dont call that confirmation"

  • @Atankable Thus you accepted the fact that he proved you wrong and you went on holding your ears screaming like a child to ignore it. If the fact is the official report says it didn't happen I will sure as hell believe it over an electronic wannabe who can't handle the truth kicking his cry baby butt and looking a fool for all to see. TY to all serving and that have served. Scrumpty move on cause your disgracing the real heroes by falsifying and spouting your concept of reality which is wrong!

  • @Atankable and with that said i have now decided that i am not going to be the retarded one here, if you want to believe whatever you want to believe, weather it is right or wrong, i have actually given up on caring if you all choose to be ignorant, and not want the real truth or facts so to all of you doubters and accusers who throw accusations around with no basis or proof of any facts whatsoever, i say have a nice life losers, this is my absolute last post on youtube.

  • and yes on JAN 5 1999 a pair of tomcats from VF-213 for the first time fired @ pheonix missiles at 2 mig-25's that were flying in the southern no fly zone in iraq and it was confirmed by a pair of hornet pilots from VFA-22 that both migs were in fact shot down by the pheonix's

  • Comment removed

  • @TheScrumpty did you take any opsec classes? I thought opsec was big in the military.

  • @okisoba yes i did and since the tomcat is retired i don't think OPSEC applies anymore

  • @TheScrumpty well i guess you weren't paying attention. and i'm pretty sure it does apply still. details of the sr-71, f117 among other retired aircraft are still classified. opsec applies to more than just the technical details of a piece of gear... it covers operational stuff too, like events that occur during military operations, such as operation southern watch. i think in the military it's the pao's job to release information officially.

  • @okisoba well in case you did not know the F-117 is not retired and i have never said anything about tomcat or its abilities or future specs that have not already been published so i have not violated any OPSEC protical.

  • @TheScrumpty well in case you did not know, yes it is. And, typically, releasing information that has not been made public through offical DoD channels is bad OPSEC. For example: "I'm going to ask my buddy what happened during that operation and let the world know on youtube." Anyway, the DoD already released information regarding 1999 Phoenix shoots. They missed, as did the multiple AIM-120s fired by F-15s during one of those engagements.

  • @TheScrumpty google "DoD News Briefing January 5, 1999" and click on the first link. It's the official transcript of one of the engagements between 13-15 Iraqi fighters and 2 F-15s and 2 F-14s. So, per OPSEC protocol, it's ok to talk about it. The F-15s fired 4 missiles and the F-14s fired 2. All of the missiles missed.

  • @okisoba *official transcript of a DoD news briefing regarding one of the Phoenix shoots. In this case 2 F-15s and 2 F-14s engaged Iraqi fighters violating the "no-fly zone". Between 13-15 Iraqi fighters violated the "no-fly zone" that day....

  • there is a very good reason that you can never convince me, with my experience i KNOW the hornet or superhornet is NOT more capable than the tomcat, and like i have already said the navy needs BOTH airplanes, the hornet can not assume the tomcats role of interceptor or the tomcats role of air superiority fighter, but it can cover the A-7' role of light strike and then some, if both the tomcat and hornet were still working together they could cover the A-6's role together

  • Scrumpy, your argument with dickhead SuperHornetTV gave me a new idea on why the Tomcats retired. Thanks.

  • really what was your idea i would be interested in hearing it

  • You believe those super dicks man. Can't believe it...

  • Comment removed

  • i miss the graceful f-14's because my dad flew them and i wanted to fly them but owell.

  • Seeing that the F/A-18 A-C isn't very capable, I really think that the Tomcat Design should be brought back in some aspect. At least the name!

  • @iamidiotic 2 words: maintenance whore

  • Most of the Ordinance, like the AIM-54's, were destroyed in the Last 80s and 90s went relations between the US and Iran went bad. We destroyed all spare parts, and shredded almost all F-14s to prevent them from getting into Iran's hands. I wouldn't so much say they are still worthy, they'll last a little, but they have grounded their fleet over and over again.

  • Fucking faggot ass YouTube and it's copyright bullshit.

Stop taking the 'you' out of YouTube.

  • Only 24. The rest are there for spare parts.

  • yeah, I forgot :D

  • I served aboard the USS CONSTELLATION CV-64 1978-81. The Tomcats were awesome I worked in support of cat operations we maintained the steam side of the cats. catapults are powered by 1200 psi mainsteam it was really boring. So i qualified all cat stations there is no feeling like having you r arm wrapped around the nose gear of a Tomcat and the pilot open the afterburners as your going thru the launch cycle [decomissioned 2003]

  • awesome video, love the tomcat

  • I thaught USS Enterprise was decomissioned at the end of WW2 and got dismantled and sold for scrap?

  • USS Enterprise is also the name of the first US nuclear powered aircraft carrier!

  • Oh was it in dedication to the origonal USS Enterprise?

  • Actually several other ships were called Enterprise before the WW2 carrier. The first ship to be named Enterprise was comissoned in 1775.

  • Oh yea I asked my mum and she said there is always a USS Enterprise.

  • Google search USS ENTERPRISE CVN-65.

she' the 1st nuclear powered carrier

  • they were expensive in keeping them in good condition, i've read that f-18 is like 5 times less expensive

and the engines were not tested well and caused many many problems

  • Partly true; the 14s became hangar queens, largely due to complex and dated wiring. But the engine issue had been entirely fixed with the B's and especially the D's. But hangar queen or not, the 14 would still outperform every "Rhino" ever made...by a wide margin.

  • @siwuszek that is not true the tf-30's were put into the f-14 a and was done so due to contract bindings between pratt and whitney and grumman but the tf-30 was the engine from the a-7 corsair and an afterburner was attached that is why the origanal tf-30 were horrible but the last models of the tf-30 had improved compressors and afterburners as well as computers but when the f-14 b came out it came with the f-110 like it was originally designed to have.

  • I like your video, esp showing operations. I liked the naration. I played the music you lined up on my iTunes. (RE: WMG; I agree with you, and most explicitly with Kopuliak.)

  • fu*ck WMG

  • i REALLY HATE YOUTUBE FOR THIS! i pay for my music so i should be able to use it!

  • you can contest it.

  • i doubt i would win though since they hold the copy rights...

  • Try anyway, you never know untill u try.

    BTW

FUCK YOU WMG I FUCKING HATE YOU, THIS IS THE 20th VIDEO TODAY TODAY THAT HAS BEEN RUINED BY YOU

  • The Tomcat is the best ever.

  • how u use it? ive downlaoded it

  • damn if a tomcat had a pussy id be slamming it 24/7 baby!!!

  • -.-' ...

  • This Jet was the reason I've wanted to be a fighter pilot since I was 5yrs old but unfortunately due to an injury I had when I was 12 I was not able to inlist. Then they had to retire this great fighter, so sad.

  • if i had the money (if),i'd have a new, advanced version of the F-14 built with fewer and composite parts, thrust vectoing, new aviaonics and radar systems, wing pylons, aand more powerful engines. Tomcats-4-EVER!!!

  • haha yer same, i've always loved tomcat's, they've been my favourite fighter jet since i was a little kid

  • F-14 BORN TO KILL HOOYAH!!!!!

  • Best Jet ever!

  • God dammit Iran, you took the greatest aircraft the world has ever seen from us.

  • great vid.. thanks!

  • bizarrely, the only nation still operating the tomcat is iran.....

  • well trying to fly them... i think, they only have one in flying condition

  • Any ex Tomcat pilots? What was it like flying this for the last time when they got rid?

  • The one at 7:24 (last Tomcat to fly combat mission) was landing at Sherman Field at NAS Pensacola. Its now on display at the Naval Aviation Museum on the base. I've seen it a couple times and its one of 4 we own (YF-14 prototype on pedestal display, F-14A, the F-14D at 7:24) and the one at 7:30 from VF-31 (last trap on a carrier) we loaned to Virginia to display there. Tomcat ANYTIME BABY!

  • Lucky Little

  • god not danger zone again

  • well watch this as much as possible if like it... youtube has been targeting me and have taken down 3 vids now... no clue as to how much longer this will be up...

  • not wondering why the f-14 will be the best fighter on the air and my favorit too, forever, all other planes are like hens,f-18's sucks...f-14 is the boss on the skys any complains??

  • I miss that plane... I was on VF-154 1995-99. Airframes. Now it's 737's. Kendog

  • The most beautifull aircraft in the world.

  • nothing sound´s like an inbound tomcat!

    greatest fighter ever

  • what's the name of the first song please?

  • its the theme song to Topgun.

    Danger Zone by Kenny Loggins

  • É APENAS O MÁXIMO !!!!!!!
