The answer to your question evilmatt346@ is what is your son riding? If he's riding along the line like a raptor 250. You might want to take it slow if your gonna switch him to a 450. If...he's riding something bigger, like a Honda 400ex, then he he just might be ready to ride a 450.  Good luck:)
