So, yes, we honor the old Lotfi and Shajarian of the 60s and 70s. But they are now both mere shells of what they used to be, and better off stop performing alltogether so we could remember them at their best in the old days.
The other one has turned towards London and BBC in his old age where the whole Islamist source was bred, fed, and released on Iran.
They have both betrayed Iran and secular democracy in their bid to go with the flow of Islamism. Some may say they even helped it gel in 1979 by their original Chavosh cassettes.
Both Lotfi and Shajarian are not what they used to be when they revolutionized traditional Persian music in the 60s and 70s back in Iran.
One is now basically made a deal with the regime, and is bidding the regime's continuity and helping it by cooperating and obeying their counter-culture by parading women wearing "Kohneh-yeh Gandeed-eh Bar Sar" on stage playing Seh-taars. So he is a willing propagandist for the regime inside Iran now.

From the right: Majd Karimi (Daf), Ali Fatemi (Tombak), Ali Farasat (Tombak), Zoya Sabet (Avaz), And ostad mohammad Reza Lotfi (Setar). This was performed in 1988.
Thank you rizbache for identifying the musicians. Too often we just pay attention to only the famous one and neglect the rest without whom the piece would not come together as it has here. Damet Garm!
