Old people are weird. When I did a German exchange I did work experience in an old people's home and this one lady kept saying that she had once learned English as a child and kept saying all the phrases she knew which were all amusingly old fashioned like "The sun is shining, sir."

My personal favorite would have to be when a crazy old lady with caked-on mascara asks for her fish to be cooked with very specific instructions, and you make sure it's done exactly as she asked, only to have her tell you it was all wrong and that you need to tell the cook that she was very disappointed, ending with the mind boggling, "It was good fish, though." WHAT?!
