  • This will happen although it could happen at any time. Days, Weeks, Months or years. The fact is when it will happen. WE SHOULD BE PREPARED!

  • This is going to happen! I don't know if we guys have realised this!

  • ¿what happend if all the fuckin volcanos in the entire world makes eruption the same time?

    died for sure

  • God!? What is this revolting notion?!?

  • i once read a book about volcanos.. biggest vei was 8.. hell its even the largest on wikipedia... and now they are talking about vei NINE!!!!!...

accoridng to wikipedia its ejecta volume increase tenfold per vei raise and 1.000 km^3 is vei 8 but still omfg.

  • 7:00 That same BBC news reporter was in End Day

  • @HeroicHeracross what can i say, we love happy endings hahaha. sorry that was a bad and rassist joke, sorry.

  • australia: chillen..

  • @amxman100 yeah we have it good when this shit happend

  • this is .1% of the problem... covering the world in an ash cloud that would blot out roughly 90% of all sunlight reachign nthe world. massive crop failure and billions would die of famine

  • I hate it when ppl blame God for problems. Shit happens! The Universe/God created everything for a reason, not to just to supply human needs. There's more to this universe then just us. We're such selfish beings. Even if we all die, so the fuck what! New planets are created, new creatures come about and the universe keeps on going

  • @taniwa08 I mostly agree with you about how selfish beings we are, but at the end of the day, we're the smartest, and if we don't look after ourselves, no other creatures have a hope really, do they.

And in all honesty, I can understand the anger against God when it comes to stuff like this. Isn't he supposed to be omni-benevolent? I'd hardly call causing this a loving thing to do.

  • @Carthyxxx idk. I just don't look at God as being my savior when i'm in distress. I view God as an being who set certain rules and guidelines about life and the universe to function within its unique system...but then again I don't follow mainstream Religion lol. I also so feel that when there's life, there is death. Death will always come, even when you don't want it at that particular time. But I understand what you mean :)

  • @taniwa08 Yeah, I'm athiest, but I've gotta say that's a great way of looking at it :)

  • @Carthyxxx lol, thanks! :) I guess it comes from being the type of Wiccan that I am lol. I like to look at life realistically and spiritually!

  • @HeroicHeracross i think that's for any non-main character really, by 70% lol

  • @HeroicHeracross

Also, unless the black guy is the ONLY black guy in the movie. Although, if there's two, one of them prolly will die.

  • @HeroicHeracross Hahaha :)

I also have noticed that :)

  • Hey this is my bunker, I let you into it at least be cheerful.

  • make no mistake about this.

Its the first step in the Volcanic Eruption that burried Pompie and Herculanium alive billions of years and even centuries ago.

Guys where i come from the moment yellowstone itself erupts.

By that time most of North America will barely even exist hell depending how long it continues and grows this could become a wolrdide event.

  • @HeroicHeracross What about I Am Legend, the only person in it was black and he went all kamakazi on some zombies.

  • @clingo316 And He died.

  • this movie proves my theory that living in europe is a bit safer

  • @runearnas yeah, if by safer you mean you die a week or so later.

  • this movie scenario is not true the real one will be at least 5-100 times worse im no scientist i didnt even finish middle school but i know lots and lots about volcanoes imagine if cracatoa effects on us even after 100 years imagine how would a supervolcano and btw hunger and burning is our least problem the real problem is cold after the eruption the planet will be in the ash cloud for at least 100 years(at least) and cause of that we will frezze

  • Fuck... I live in Wyoming and my 6th grade class goes to Yellowstone in a month

  • @HeroicHeracross Not always. Have you watched Resident Evil Afterlife? The black guy was the only missing person not to die, even when the main character thought he was.

  • @HeroicHeracross LIES!!!! Resident Evil After Life. Black guy lives.

  • i wonder if it will hit portervile ca

  • @HeroicHeracross that didn't happen in Resident Evil afterlife

  • They'd never rescue people from this....look how badly they coped with Katrina and that was tiny in comparison with this scenario

  • If this happened, and it is an if (it could be thousands of years from now), then those that died in the initial fallout are the lucky ones. Those that have to die slowly from famine , breakdown of social order, riots, looting, disease etc afterwards will really suffer.

  • some of the music sounds like something from sim city :)

  • We are delaying the inevitable.

  • if a woman cant run a car, how can she be expected to run a country?

  • @Rahavin1 That's sexist! :(

  • great... mercy after a supereruption.

But I dont believe in God... I believe in Sea Man

  • i believe inGod! end of the world- beginning of the next! Jesus is coming at the end of the world

  • whatever helps you sleep at night.

  • @kevinscholes

umm i dont think jesus said anything bout a supereruptoon in the bible

  • Comment removed

  • @krnpride012 But God said that the world will end by fire.

  • I think I should move to Iran, not much other than war goes on over there... This is alot bigger and dangerous than war

  • This film almost makes this looks fun, it fails.

  • Ah damn! Poor Bozeman!

  • Volcanos helped start the Earth, now they're probably going to end it. I'm so glad we don't have them in the UK, but we still feel the affects I guess, but we're lucky not to be next to one, maybe we're over one :'O We'll never know, until I guess it'll be too late :( Ahaa I'm such a negative thinker.

  • @horseharriet1996x very nice, by the way u too can not save ur butt :)

  • IRL they would never be able to "keep it secert". You can look at the YVO data live, if there is a sudden increase in earthquakes, the cat will be outta the bag.

  • Haha and that is what happens when the government "worries" about the public going into a panic if they tell them they might die. They have no chance if surviving now. Hint hint to the government if they ever see any signs of the yellowstone volcano erupting lol

  • It's a shame becuase when this really does happen no will be around to film it all..

  • We need to advance our technology to a point where we can control these types of events on Earth. That's probably at least a few hundred years away. We're still a very primitive species. A type 0 civilization on the Kardashev scale. This type of event would be absolutely catastrophic to human civilization. Better not to think about it.

  • wendy is soooo hot....

  • Go canada lol we seem to be fine in this show

  • i rather stay than leave :D

  • how can you rescue 25 million people????

  • @sam077088 correction: how do you rescue 6.5 billion people?

  • @RoxRock4ever - in my opinion the gov.org should consider building an extension island on the UK, then u could move here. forget your hot sun and beaches, think about your tornados, earthquakes & erruptions. We have some good summers in the UK y'know but without all the disasters! ;o)

  • @sam077088: In 1783 the Laki eruption in Iceland sent a cloud of sulfur dioxide south. It is estimated to have killed at least 23,000 people in Great Britain. I'm afraid that even you are not entirely safe. ;)

  • @tommy9922 - Oh sh*t!! what if we build an underground shelter? im gonna start building one now, lol! oh fcuk!

  • @sam077088 Yeahh I'm totally with you on that one :S Atleast we're not right nexet to it... :S

  • 5:04 - I do.

  • Correct me if I'm wrong, if this volcano ever erupts again it will only cover the US or more countries?

  • @Ardevon2367 it will cover majority of US, and maybe lot of southern Canada / Northern Mexico but basically we are fucked it it goes

  • @Ardevon2367

The entire planet would be affected by the resulting volcanic winter.

  • @ExecuteAllMolesters Not to mention how long it'll last. The Toba event which was around 2-3 times worse than Yellowstone could be caused 200 years of volcanic cold. Yellowstone could cause around 60 years, which is an ENORMOUS time in itself.

  • jordy guy is THE WORST FUCKING ACTOR EVER OMFG

  • 2012 2012 2012 2012 2012 2012 2012 2012 2012

  • Americas fucked.

  • @godofmajora

You are fucked, in the head.

  • @refuckulate420 nah. Tis troo.

  • @godofmajora

No it isn't. If this happened everyone would be fucked pretty much. Depending on the intensity of the eruption, of course. And yea, you are fucked in the head. There are more then 1 potential supervolacnos btw...ya fuckin idiot.

  • @refuckulate420 Great. What has my younger brother done this time while I was away...... he is a big time troll.

  • @godofmajora

Yes indeed....he's a troll and you should punish him fiercely.

  • @refuckulate420 I have. And I do agree. Arent there about 6 active supervolcanoes?

  • @godofmajora

I don't know how many exactly, the ones with the most potential I've heard are in the Atlantic ocean and Yellowstone. Yellowstone could potentially wipe out up to 90% of life on the planet while the Atlantic ocean caldera could cause a tsunami that takes out the entire east coast of the U.S. and some other places.

  • @refuckulate420 If i had too choose, I would choose the Atlantic ocean one. 9 outta every ten people dying isnt exactly the number I want too hear...... Yellowstone seems too be the bigger case though, since it technically is overdue and seismic activity has taken a very dramatic increase in the last 17 years..... going too be some real rough times up ahead if Yellowstone erupts... what I find ironic about it, is that it is one of America's biggest theme parks. And its about too go up w/ a bang.

  • @godofmajora

Yellowstone may go off soon. But it's also possible it might not go off for another 100+ years or much more. In which case we might have the technology do deal with it effectively.

  • @refuckulate420 I see only one way too truly have a way too survive yellowstone. Colonize another planet. Evacuate too that planet as the world slips into an ice age.

Because technically. Anything we do too try and prevent the eruption is like trying too drown a fish in water. It will just accelerate the process. hence nuking it is a stupid idea. As my troll brother thinks. Drilling holes Might cause it too erupt too.... so yea, I think living on mars would be ftw anywho.

  • @godofmajora

Well you don't know what technology the future brings. In 100 years years we may have a way of releasing the pressure without causing an eruption. We may have the ability to move to mars by then too. I'm sure some would survive, I'd estimate between 100,000-1 million. A lot of people could survive underground and I'm certain small areas in some places will still be habitable.

Depends on the size of the eruption too.

  • @refuckulate420 Yea. But one thing is for sure. Since all of yellowstones previous eruptions were some of the strongest in recorded history. I think its safe too say that its going too be devastating when it goes. And the fact its overdue doesent help much either. Hell. For all we know 100 years from now... we will have wiped each other out... because one of the most dangerous disasters waiting too happen is Us. 50 megaton nuke going off in new york = 0% survival rate.

  • @godofmajora

You can speculate all you want, but I personally am an eternal optimist when it comes to the human species. Btw we have survived a rather nasty ice age before, and I think we can do it again.

Human survival is extremely tenacious, and very underestimated.

  • @godofmajora apprently mars has a volcano 10 times bigger than yellow stone ... yaaaa we are fuckeed

  • @fastnsexy of course the black man died hes black

  • a very good documntary to watch, a not-so-good version of 2012

  • everybody is so worried about global warming, only 1 in every 10,000 people know about this. global warming could kill millions over a long period of time but this could whipe out humanity, the last super eruption was 67,000 years ago and it almost whiped out all humans yellowstone is twice the size.

  • @epicfailfestival Plus, people at that time were hunter-gatherers well capable of surviving on their own in the wild, and still almost everyone died. Most people today get their food from the supermarket, and if the supermarket has no food, they'll starve to death. If Yellowstone erupts, it will likely cause a "winter" lasting years. Some people might still survive on canned food and vitamin products, but that's outside the actual ashfall. Everyone still needs clean water no matter what.

  • @epicfailfestival: And with good reason. This is an acute event; within ten years, most of the harm (everywhere except central US) will be recovering; perhaps even that. From global warming, if it happens, the recovery could take tens of thousands of years. Both will be ruinous to civilization.

  • best guestimate: "We're all fucked."

  • Is it bad of me to actually think that the first thing I would do in such a event would be to buy as much stock as possible?

  • One thing's for sure: If and when Yellowstone blows, it's gonna affect the entire world, and it's gonna be bad. One can only hope that it happens after their lifetime

  • The president is a woman! That is progress!

  • @azulalover97 no its a man

  • True dat!!

  • Really....Think about this LOGICALLY.

  • One of the problems with this documentary is it projects that government will try to save people. Nothing could be further from the truth. If you have been paying attention to elite talk, one of the things they say over and over again is the need for population reduction. Something like this would be a godsend to them. Publicly they will talk and talk, but action to save people will not happen.

  • the government totally sucks ya mother fucker.

  • @slinkycat321: Pretty cynical, with an extra helping of conspiracy theory. FEMA will give it the ol' college try, but in this case it is hugely outclassed. The military and the rest of the country will try too; one can only hope about the outcome.

  • Gotta love them having planes, helicopters and jets flying in and around the eruption zones when the engines would fail long before getting close lol

  • the day yellowstone erupts is the day we can kiss our sry butts goodbye because it will have global effects on the planet and make no mistake it won't be a pretty eruption if it in fact became a super eruption

  • @nobodykh yea? eruption after eruption of others volcanoes erupting cuz of yellowstone? eh i dont think so.

Guys the moment yellowstone itself explodes we could be looking at the biggest super eruption chain network of volcanic eruptions eer whitnessed by mankind. And im not kidding this network could awaken some of the biggest volcanic names since the death of Pompiie via Vesuvious.

    Tower Hill.

    Merapi.

    Kilawhea.

    Hawii.

    Iceland

    Mt Saint Helens.

all those volcanoes may become awkae.

  • @FLAME4564 no

  • @FLAME4564 why would yellowstone activate other zones?

    espicially pompei or etna..

Yelloestones magma chamber is a lot closer to the surface, and a lot bigger than standard chambers since its a supervolcano... how will it affect other volcanos?? not to mention that pompei and etna ALSO is part of one...

  • @FLAME4564 yes thats right in a science magazine i read theres about 5or 6 potential super volcanos around the world... one of them, and its the most destructive in fact, is yellowstone... scratch that i found a source... 4.i got some pictures (internet) i can reference from

    1. yellowstone

    2 napoli coast in italy

3 cannot identify third... too unclear but 4th is around japan and dust zone covers australia and oh my gosh also the island east of africa..

  • @FLAME4564 hey i get a pdf file here... i can tell you 3 anyways.

3 is taupo idk were that is sadly

sorry yellowstone wasnt most destructive.. it was most active one

napoli coast is the one with most living beings around

    taupo is the youngest

and the japan one is the most destructive.

    named toba...

  • @supervegito2277 toba isnt in japan, its in Indonesia. It has the largest resurgent dome in the world, meaning lava is definitely swelling underneath. Then there is Taupo in NZ, Yellowstone, Longvalley and La Garita all in the US, theres one in germany, China, and Italy, and likely others that we don't know about. This is something I've researched rather heavily, Toba was bigger than yellowstone, btw. And Longvalley is most likely to erupt (in theory).

  • @MasterVolo Long Valley is defused and no longer capable of that kind of eruption, Mono Lake and Mammoth Mountain defuse the caldera from ever ripping apart. The pressure can't build without being let off early by these volcanoes on the rim of the caldera. Aira Caldera in Japan is similarly defused, in fact Sakurajima grew on the rim of that caldera and is among the most active in the world. The pressure won't build to VEI 8

There are resurgent caldera volcanoes on every continent

  • @MasterVolo The supervolcanoes we have to worry about are the ones we don't know about, like the ones in Africa (not so much the one(s) in Antarctica).

  • @RicoLen1 To be fair, any supervolcano would be one to worry about. And Long Valley is entirely capable of a supervolcano, the amount of pressure being let off by Mono Lake or Mammoth mountain is negligible compared to the pressure building under there. Sure it lets off some steam, but a VEI 7 or 8 is entirely possible from that caldera. Most super volcanos have sattelite cones, doesnt mean that they can't let loose a big one.

  • @MasterVolo That's not what the Long Valley Observatory says. In terms of being a supervolcano the Long Valley caldera is defused. As pressure builds it's let off, primarily by Mammoth Mountain so it can't get to that level where the supervolcano becomes a threat.

However, you're right insomuch that IF Mammoth Mountain were to die somehow, while at the same time the entire caldera became active, then yes. But conventional wisdom says that simply won't happen.

  • @MasterVolo Fact is Long Valley not only has several satellite cones all over the place that let off steam every couple hundred years (not including the Mammoth Mountain stratovolcano, or the Mono Lake caldera), but sonographic imaging shows that the magma chamber has been beheaded (cut in two, 1 feeding mono lake, the other feeding Mammoth Mountain) and deflated. In fact Mono Lake isn't even considered a part of the Long Valley system anymore, despite being 35 miles from Mammoth mtn

  • @MasterVolo I'm not trying to pick and argument here, it's just that I live near Oakhurst, on the other side of Yosemite from Mono Lake and Mammoth Lakes and my family and I take day trips there a few times a year. I'm a geologist, and I've studied the area quite a bit.

There are cases where it COULD become a supervolcanic system again, but it's far more likely that Yellowstone and Toba and Taupa will erupt in my lifetime than for Long Valley to ever erupt at VEI 8 again.

  • It mentions in this part that Yellowstone has the capacity of 25,000 km3 of eruptability. On a side note, anything over 10,000 km3 is a VEI-9. That has occured TWICE before - Siberian traps and Deccan Traps, both more than 200 million years ago.

Now, from that 25,000 km3, it has to be determined had much is eruptable during a cycle of activity. Even though the chance of all that 25,000 km3 being eruptable is low... there is STILL a chance... by the way, anything over 3,000 is extinction level.

  • @AeonXero: No, you're all wrong. Trap events are a different kind from eruptions; comparing is problematical, and I've never seen VEIs associated with them. The Deccan traps happened 65 mya, during the K-T event. There are other traps: Emeishan (in China), and Parana-Etkendeka (in South America/Africa). The La Garita, the largest single eruption known, 23mya, excavated 5000 cukm and is associated with no extinction event. It may be fair to say they have extinction potential.

  • @puncheex No, actually, i'm all right. You're the one who's misreading this. Traps do cause VEI; a proof is the 1793 event of Laki in Iceland. It was a VEI 4 event, yet it still caused massive problems over the Europe and some sections around the world. Traps still do produce gas and material emissions that can be calculate as an explosivity index. That's a proven fact and i'm studying that stuff in University.

  • @AeonXero: I stand corrected in one respect: Laki is sometimes referred to as a trap, but only by analogy to the more usual meaning: "The term "traps" is derived from the Swedish word for stairs (trappa, or sometimes trapp), referring to the step-like hills forming the landscape of the region." I noticed that you didn't touch on all the other factual errors.

  • Some people say that it's not overdue. But others are saying it is. I beleive it is so I definantly agree with those who think so. I hope I'm in the area and killed instantly or I'm dead before it erutpts.

  • Good government advice, food and water for 3 days. DUMBBBBBSHITS.

You should have enough food and water for 6 months. Anything can happen these days. Economic crash, nuclear terror, seven seals of revelation being opened, etc LOL

  • Well, the Mormons are prepared.....

  • Its much more likely we have a VEI 5 or 6 in the Eifel here, than a big bang in the US.

Otoh if no super fiasco happens the next few hundert years man might be able to mine and transfer it to energie.

  • heheheh I live in wAshington Bitches

  • lol if the volcano erupted and destroy america ill be in china, but still i love america!!!

  • China is pretty close to america lol... the other side of the world is more likely to be khazakstan or west india

  • @Darkanglelorde: Heh, heh. Don't look now, but just offshore of WA/OR is the NA plate riding over the Pacific. It has caused some huge tsunamis in the past; one was recorded in Japan in January of 1600.

  • @Darkanglelorde: Don't look now, but just offshore of WA/OR is the edge of the NA plate riding over the Pacific. In January of 1600 it caused what looks to be a 60' high tsunami all along the Pacific coast, that reached and was recorded in Japan.

  • @puncheex what? You live in WA?

  • @Darkanglelorde: No, I live in Colorado. Tornados and smallish earthquakes is our bag. And snow.

  • @puncheex eh so what :D I dont have a problem with a giant wave that is 1000 ft higher then my house :D......

  • aww man the black guy died

    he was cool too

  • The quote woman as well.

  • @fastnsexy I'm pretty sure this isn't the only movie where what you said applies.

  • @fastnsexy yah why does the black guy always die

  • @bamafanxiMI22 no....why does the black guy always die FIRST....kinda?

  • screw global warming this is way bigger than global warming...i'd rather have global warming than to deal with this bullshit!!!

  • @danni19892008 thats true global warming will do nothing...... this supervolcano will kill the whole damn world!!!!

  • In short: This would suck for our country.

  • then canada... then the rest of the world

  • Exactly.^^ As soon as the ash cloud enters the JetStream I give it one week and it's round the world and then we're ALL fucked up, one way or another.

  • 2:08-2:16 Oh snap that was Chicago as soon as the volcano erupts im out of here.

  • Comment removed

  • NO MORE GLOBAL WARMING!!!!!!!!!!

  • global warming has nothing to do with it, it blowes or it doesnt NOT GLOBAL WARMING

  • No more Global Warming??? This is Global Warming in Peakform

  • Then why watch it?

  • you are right. So I could not watched it all

  • a supervolcano would effec the whole earth, germany would be affected as much as anywhere else on the planet

  • Well not as affected as America.

Whats interesting to ponder about is what the chainreactions would be and result in.

  • theres one in indonesia, and do you reply to poples comments oblivious to whne they posted, i posted this a month ago, i dont even know why im explaining it, mayb cuz so many people reply to my comments from months after my post

  • I got you to respond didnt I? ; )

But I didnt intend for you to reply. Just wanted it to stand there so people could think over the question.

  • man living in Billings this is really freaky

  • That cloud shit is in the way. I can't tell what zone I'm in :)

  • yellow stone they said was 21000 km cubed... but it was 25000km cubed??

  • The problem is that volcano could erupt in our lifetime, could be next year!! Who knows what the government is keeping from you.

  • Why are people like you so retarded?

  • i think in the year 2350

  • I agree with SuperShadow30.. nobody knows when this is gonna erupt. heck it might even happen tomorrow... but seriously volcanic eruptions are quite hard to predict.. yes i know this because i am learning this stuff in science... Even though were "overdue" doesnt mean its gonna happen soon.. just like SuperShadow said it might not happen for 25,000 years or so.

  • imagine the whole land of north america just covered in grey 2 foot layer of ash from coast to coast. Looks like the moon.

  • 25000, yea man thats it

  • 25000 cubic kilometers WOW thats huge

  • its amazing! btw the yellowstone volcano is gonna erupt somewhere in 2012 so u better move outta america

  • Isn't that because the mayan calendar ends? Haven't people predicted this before? My prediction is around 2015 based on seismic evidence.

  • There is NO evidence to suggest that something like this will happen in the forseeable future. Yes, it COULD happen next year, in 2012, in 2015...or it might not happen for another 10 to 40,000 years. Nobody knows.

  • I know, but at the least 2015.
