  • So damn good

  • Do you have a MIDI of this one, too? I wanna cover it as well! This and Bramblevine Jaguar are easily my favorite of your MMX-styled songs.

  • @Sacredfire059 : Sorry, I don't have the project file to this anymore due to a hard drive crash.

  • Tks Kevin, Capcom should hire you rigth now!!!!!

  • The intro is beast

  • Yeah! That's Awesome! but, I'm making the MegaMan X3 rendition of MetalMouth Vulture, which fits the first Doppler Stage, where X and Zero have to fight against Daimon Cenicienta as a maverick.

  • Question: When you composed your MMX tracks, did you restrict yourself to 8 channels? Either way, sounds great!

  • This. This is what I want to do.

  • Is it weird that I kinda wanna do a remix of this tune? It's just so badass, and amazing!

  • I keep pressing the Like button, but it won't go up...

  • passme this song please

  • I actually recently started to replay X 1 - 5, and was disappointed by a few few tracks in 2 and 3. But this sounds legit, good job man.

  • sounds like the intro level to Megaman 10 to me?

  • @Cynthia149 There isn't one...

  • @SuperSketch008 I mean DR Wily's base 1

  • this could fit perfectly in one of sigma's stages

  • Megaman X's instruments are sacred

  • Good one...keeps coming into my ear...great work...

  • I listened to this the day I got braces...and every day since.

  • damn, i... cant... stop... LISTENING THIS!

    IT'S FREAKIN EPIC!

  • permission to use?

  • Damn, I got on this video again and I really must say this is a masterpiece, it does match the quality of the first megaman x soundtrack. That's not something everyone can achieve, kudos to you. I'd really like to hear more x- style tracks but as you already mentioned you seem to be working on it already.

  • Badass Vulture in Mt. Badass.

  • B-Baiils' account was closed! *cries* His amazing 8-bit remix is gone...

  • @Sacredfire059

    WHAAATT!!!?!

    Impossible?

    Why?

    Baiisilik, come back!

  • @Riboshom *sniff* I have no idea... Why would he do such a thing? His skills were on par with Kevvviiinnn!

  • @Sacredfire059

  • AWWEEHHH SOUUM. (meaning awesome)

  • Metalmouth... Wait! I got it! He growls a lot!

  • Ironbeak Vulture

  • Hey Kevin my team is making a Megaman X game and we would like to use your music for or game. Please message or comment back to me. I love this music and it would work very well with a boss stage.

  • Hey, Can I use this theme for my Mario Fangame? It works pretty well and suits a good stormy sky stage.

  • would it be possible to get sheet music or guitar tabs for this?

  • Definently sounds like it could be the intro stage to Mega Man X9... provided Keiji Inafune decides to make an X9.

  • @tbone2004

Pff, yeah, since he really wanted the series to end with X4.

  • Fucking Amazing.

  • *wiggle*

    *wiggle*

    *wiggle*

  • This is like a vanilla-flavored bitch slap to the face! Mmm, tasty!

  • @CMCaden9 Mmmmm...bitch slap.

  • Pretty epic :)

  • This is a kick ass theme! As well as for it being a good theme for the next MMX game, it also works great in the Mario Builder application. I tried it. It worked

  • You're a good composer! Better than many at Capcom today. Wish I could play X4, X5 and X6 with these compositions instead of those sucking ones there. Okay, I know that some of those musics are good, but aside snes games, they only have good (CD) sound quality. Long live to old school game tracks! =) And keep doind your excellent job! Since I am a Rockman fan, I try to play music from the games (check out my videos), and now I have god a few more to try out on real guitar and bass. =)

  • Sweetness, not bad man. Sounds a lot better than the one(s) where you use someone else's soundfont. That thing was horridly out of tune, no offense to you e_e;

This does sound like a good X theme, but honestly I think the melody might fit better in the MMZ universe. Most of X's music didn't get this emotional/have this much range in it methinks. The way you used the various instruments though does resemble the ways of the X OST. Regardless, it is a good'n altogether. Great job! =P

  • Very fitting for a sky theme.

  • Sounds like a legit Megaman X track, spot on.

  • This song is amazing, hands down. The fact that you have no formal training on music makes all of your compositions that much sweeter to listen to! The only critique that I have for this particular theme is that I'm, for some reason, finding traces of Chrono Trigger's Zeal theme starting at 0:28 to 0:53. Not that it's a bad thing, really. Zeal was awesome. ^_^

  • Pro: BEST SOUND EVER

    Cons: None

  • His name sounds like he would be a combination of Overdrive Ostrich and some other Maverick...or just a new take on Overdrive Ostrich.

  • You don't think Metalmouth Vulture's a good name? I think it's SPECTACULAR! :)

  • Wow.

  • I wonder why, but this song is stuck in my head. I can listen to this song all day without being bored.

  • i can write and compose the melody on magical8bit but I cant do harmonizing backgrounds and bass can you help?

  • Seriously cant wait to hear some more MMX themes from you Kevvviiinnn! You are awesome!

  • THAT'S ACTUALLY GOOD! Man, I gotta try out FL Studio sometime.

  • I'm using this as mood music now XD... I freaking love this!

  • Has a Balrog Theme rhythm.

  • dude you made this yourself?

damn son, what can I say, this song right here is probably better than all of capcoms stuff from the X series.

    good job.

  • @RappOverRockAMVs WHAT? It's a good song, don't get me wrong, but there's no fucking way that it's "better than all of capcom's stuff from the X series". Have you listened to ANY of the tracks from the first X? How about the progressive nature of X2, or the thrash influence of X3? The experimental direction of X5 and 6??

  • @PrimalLight2323 I'm a advid Mega Man Fan and love the X series, but the music defiantly wasn't great in my eyes, from X1 to X8 I only really liked the "Irregular Hunters" track which was the intro stage from X3

and is the only song to date from the X series that I will playback, (I have all the OST's too)

Kevvviiinnn's Metal Mouth Vulture to me even tops that, and I regulary come back to listen to his track.

I never asked people to agree with me, it's just my opinion

  • @RappOverRockAMVs That's saying something too since a lot of capcom's stuff kicked assed

  • Kevin, your music is pretty cool!

Do you start with one simple pattern, then build upon it whenever you make music? I end up doing that too, the end results can be amazing ._.

  • @KoolKojoS : Yes, that's exactly how I make music. :^)

  • Cool xD

I made this song in october that I still can't get out of my head. I've always wondered how it'd sound in 8-bit but im too lazy to try using any trackers :P

  • Comment removed

  • how do you stretch the sounds, my fl studio doesnt seem to stretch the samples.

you know like a long "duuuuuuuun" it only stays on the normal duration of the file

  • @Kevvviiinnn

I might try this approach. I tend to try and make complex melodies right from the get-go, and end up getting stuck. =/

  • @IshidaTheQuincy : Well, I always start by writing the lead melody. You should definitely experiment a bit and find out what works for you. Some people can write better if they start off with a chord progression and lay a melody over it.

  • @KoolKojoS Same here

  • Great theme!

  • Amazing. If it were in a game, I'd assume the CAPCOM music team had made it.

  • Kevin, you have a great potential in the music industry.

  • SPOT. ON.

  • This sounds so unbelievably awesome!! You just keep getting better and better! :O

    Keep up the good work!

  • I love the Megaman X style music, keep up the good work and possibly upload more of this :D

  • I'd have to say this song is too EPIC sounding to be Mega Man X style. Not to say Mega Man X songs aren't epic... they usually sound COOL and ROCKING...

In short, I can see this more as a classic Mega Man theme than X... it's hard to explain, but that's my opinion. Regardless, this song is incredible.

  • This is incredible! Nice work! I've tried something like this before, but I couldn't get something nice to come out of it...

  • Spot on MMX!

  • BEST SONG EVAH

  • me like the intro

  • Absolutely amazing. You have captured the SNES games perfectly!

  • Wow, this is probably one of your best works to date. You utilized the instruments in such an epic way and gave it a nice timbre. I love it. Should definitely be in an X9 game of the future. :P

  • When I start listening to this, I almost instantly start thinking about an intro stage.

  • Someone please turn this into 8-Bit!

Or maybe I try and turn this into 8-bit?

Sounds fun since it is so epic!

  • To those who don't think this isn't very mmx style: I believe you're SOOO wrong! Not only does it sound very mmx, it's fucking awesome! Although it's a little too awesome for a simple Maverick stage, this should be a Sigma stage.

  • It's more of an MMX style than some MMX games, in my opinion,

  • Problem: Kicks too much ass.

  • I'm still thinking around an extremely hot desert. I like Borazon Buzzard. (Borazon is a fusion of boron, diamond and carbon that is the only thing tougher than diamond.)

  • I can't believe there are actually people saying that this doesn't sound like a Mega Man X song! This is amazing! However, I see it as more of an Intro Stage tune than a Maverick one. That would be an epic way to start the game.

  • This is really impressive. It's better than a lot of real megaman x songs.

  • It reminds me of a Sigma stage more than anything. Still, I think you captured the essence of a Megaman X song very well.

  • Wow you should get in contact with the megaman x corrupted Dev team, I think you would be an awesome addition.

  • Or better yet, contact me. Megaman X Corrupted isn't the only work-in-progress MMX project, you know.

  • @Azdrerios or not contact you.

  • @neogalahad He already has, foo!

  • @Azdrerios He contacted you? For what? MMV? What a waste

  • @neogalahad Oh? How come, mr. flamethrower? :D

  • @Azdrerios Dude the megaman x corrupted project def deserves this musical talent more than you.

  • @neogalahad Oh, how wonderful of you to feel that way.

  • @Azdrerios it is wonderful have fun learning game maker.

  • @neogalahad Oh yeah, I will. Have fun getting a life! ^^

  • @Azdrerios I do have a life, you just started shit you cant finish. You have to block to finish anything in life dont you. Well blocking me isnt going to get you any further on gamemaker.

  • @neogalahad Pfft, you two have been arguing hilariously for a whole comment page. Hilariously in a "laugh-at-you" kind of way.

  • @SCRuner5h I never take people fighting on the internet seriously.

  • It sounds amazing, I hope you read my private message, I'm working on a MMX Fan game and I would like to have this songs on the game.

  • Dear God! That's so awesome!

The beginning reminds me of music from BattleToads VS Double Dragons on the SNES for some odd reason.

Sounds like a song for a Sigma Stage more than a Maverick Stage... but I'm just nit-picking ( :

  • Make a 8bit version of this :)

  • Reminds me more of Street Fighter than Megaman X. Still good though.

  • it's not very like a mmx song, but it's great anyway! and you should do more mmx music!

tremor mastodon is an awesome music and it feel really like a mmx song, it should be on an hypotetical mmx9!

please do other music like this one! (I like all of your music, the 8 bit are awesome too, but tremor mastodon is one of the best, a real x music way much better than other official x music!)

and sorry for my bad english

  • This doesn't sound like the melody for a Mega Man X stage...

It sounds too good to be that. :D

Honestly, the tune seems complex and intense, in a good way of course. Great job man.

As I've said in previous comments, you should make more songs with MMX Instruments! This shit is awesome.

  • ;^) Sir you are amazing !!

    Really, What can I say?!

Has that kind of feeling like "storm eagle´s theme", don´t know if you wanted to give it that "mood" to the song because of the maverick "Metalmouth Vulture". Woooaaa, you have really capture the MMX music feeling.

  • im no music expert, by any means, but that, my good sir, kicks ass!

  • amazing

  • Very nice composition as usual, Kevvviiinnn. ^_^ d You definitely captured the MMX feel there.

As for a different name for the maverick...How about "Molten Vulture"?

  • I think it works great, doesn't sound very much like Classic MM at all due to 0:14 - 0:53.

Will you ever upload your MM7 and MMX samples up publicly? I'd try making my own, but I have a horrible ear for instruments. :c

  • I think this is your best composition yet. I absolutely love it. I agree with Bradman that the drums should continue through the intro riff when looping though.

I could see this in either a MMX or Classic game. You've got the X-style riffs and guitar but the main melody would also fit in a classic tune too I think. This fusion of styles is better than either of them on their own.

  • HOLY MOTHER OF FUCK!! This surpasses any X track. This needs to be remixed.

  • Epic.

  • Amazing job once again. This one is better than Mastodon imo. And Mastodon is raging good.

  • I really feel like someone should make some art out of those names like Shock Shrew and Metalmouth Vulture.

  • I pictured X climbing a mesa in the desert, with reploids all over the place.

  • This doesnt sound like a fortress level to me, it sounds like a kick ass stage. Kevvviiinnn ur back in the "x" groove my man:) awsome job

  • I think this would be perfect for a sigma stage. reminds me of megaman x3 in some bits. I agree that it would rather fit to be one of the later final stages. apart from the intro I would not take the drums out at any moment. it kind of cuts the pace. but keep making those wonderful tunes man, you've got some damn fine skills.

  • Metalmouth Vulture's stage would probably either be a desert or scrapyard, both littered with scrap metal and remains of destroyed reploids.

  • Capcom! MAKE MEGAMAN X9!!!!!!!!!

  • to me this sounds more like it should be played in one of sigma's fortresses than a regular level

it just makes me feel like the end of the game is coming up and there's gonna be a huge battle or something

  • Cannon Man - War Factory ;)

  • I agree with Bradman on this one. If you had a drum-loop, it would just make this thing even more awesome to listen to, over and over.

You really made a good hit on this one, Keviiinnn

  • If you used this in a loop, I think you should have the drums continue when it goes around like how Storm Eagle does it. Looping when there is an intro sometimes halts the momentum IMO. But otherwise, really cool.

  • This is pretty catchy!

I still think the guitars should have more fadeout time, though.

  • Kevin, I know you've probably heard this many times, but you, sir, are a musical genius.

  • Sounds amazing i'll definately listen to this over and over again.

  • The three x songs you've composed are great and have motivated me to make a MMX engine in MMF2. Mastodon is even my ringtone XD. It sounds sorta like storm eagle, but factory-ish. I'm thinking around Borazon Buzzard. That actually has a ring to is : D.

  • @pengywengyman Sweet, man, Stage 30 is my ringtone xD

I'll sub you to keep track of your MMX engine ;)

  • *Faints from hearing this awesome song.*

There is no way to describe how epic this is! You did an amazing job with this song!

  • This definitely sounds a lot like your 8-bit tunes, but that's because of your style of writing, rather than the 8-bit Mega Man style. It definitely has more of an MMX feel than a lot of MMX games. (I'm lookin at YOU, X4)

  • Sounds great Kev, I could definitely see this in an X game.
