Yeah! That's Awesome! but, I'm making the MegaMan X3 rendition of MetalMouth Vulture, which fits the first Doppler Stage, where X and Zero have to fight against Daimon Cenicienta as a maverick.
Damn, I got on this video again and I really must say this is a masterpiece, it does match the quality of the first megaman x soundtrack. That's not something everyone can achieve, kudos to you. I'd really like to hear more x- style tracks but as you already mentioned you seem to be working on it already.
Hey Kevin my team is making a Megaman X game and we would like to use your music for or game. Please message or comment back to me. I love this music and it would work very well with a boss stage.
This is a kick ass theme! As well as for it being a good theme for the next MMX game, it also works great in the Mario Builder application. I tried it. It worked
You're a good composer! Better than many at Capcom today. Wish I could play X4, X5 and X6 with these compositions instead of those sucking ones there. Okay, I know that some of those musics are good, but aside snes games, they only have good (CD) sound quality. Long live to old school game tracks! =) And keep doind your excellent job! Since I am a Rockman fan, I try to play music from the games (check out my videos), and now I have god a few more to try out on real guitar and bass. =)
Sweetness, not bad man. Sounds a lot better than the one(s) where you use someone else's soundfont. That thing was horridly out of tune, no offense to you e_e;
This does sound like a good X theme, but honestly I think the melody might fit better in the MMZ universe. Most of X's music didn't get this emotional/have this much range in it methinks. The way you used the various instruments though does resemble the ways of the X OST. Regardless, it is a good'n altogether. Great job! =P
This song is amazing, hands down. The fact that you have no formal training on music makes all of your compositions that much sweeter to listen to! The only critique that I have for this particular theme is that I'm, for some reason, finding traces of Chrono Trigger's Zeal theme starting at 0:28 to 0:53. Not that it's a bad thing, really. Zeal was awesome. ^_^
@RappOverRockAMVs WHAT? It's a good song, don't get me wrong, but there's no fucking way that it's "better than all of capcom's stuff from the X series". Have you listened to ANY of the tracks from the first X? How about the progressive nature of X2, or the thrash influence of X3? The experimental direction of X5 and 6??
@PrimalLight2323 I'm a advid Mega Man Fan and love the X series, but the music defiantly wasn't great in my eyes, from X1 to X8 I only really liked the "Irregular Hunters" track which was the intro stage from X3
and is the only song to date from the X series that I will playback, (I have all the OST's too)
Kevvviiinnn's Metal Mouth Vulture to me even tops that, and I regulary come back to listen to his track.
I never asked people to agree with me, it's just my opinion
I made this song in october that I still can't get out of my head. I've always wondered how it'd sound in 8-bit but im too lazy to try using any trackers :P
@IshidaTheQuincy : Well, I always start by writing the lead melody. You should definitely experiment a bit and find out what works for you. Some people can write better if they start off with a chord progression and lay a melody over it.
I'd have to say this song is too EPIC sounding to be Mega Man X style. Not to say Mega Man X songs aren't epic... they usually sound COOL and ROCKING...
In short, I can see this more as a classic Mega Man theme than X... it's hard to explain, but that's my opinion. Regardless, this song is incredible.
Wow, this is probably one of your best works to date. You utilized the instruments in such an epic way and gave it a nice timbre. I love it. Should definitely be in an X9 game of the future. :P
To those who don't think this isn't very mmx style: I believe you're SOOO wrong! Not only does it sound very mmx, it's fucking awesome! Although it's a little too awesome for a simple Maverick stage, this should be a Sigma stage.
I'm still thinking around an extremely hot desert. I like Borazon Buzzard. (Borazon is a fusion of boron, diamond and carbon that is the only thing tougher than diamond.)
I can't believe there are actually people saying that this doesn't sound like a Mega Man X song! This is amazing! However, I see it as more of an Intro Stage tune than a Maverick one. That would be an epic way to start the game.
@Azdrerios I do have a life, you just started shit you cant finish. You have to block to finish anything in life dont you. Well blocking me isnt going to get you any further on gamemaker.
it's not very like a mmx song, but it's great anyway! and you should do more mmx music!
tremor mastodon is an awesome music and it feel really like a mmx song, it should be on an hypotetical mmx9!
please do other music like this one! (I like all of your music, the 8 bit are awesome too, but tremor mastodon is one of the best, a real x music way much better than other official x music!)
Has that kind of feeling like "storm eagle´s theme", don´t know if you wanted to give it that "mood" to the song because of the maverick "Metalmouth Vulture". Woooaaa, you have really capture the MMX music feeling.
I think this is your best composition yet. I absolutely love it. I agree with Bradman that the drums should continue through the intro riff when looping though.
I could see this in either a MMX or Classic game. You've got the X-style riffs and guitar but the main melody would also fit in a classic tune too I think. This fusion of styles is better than either of them on their own.
I think this would be perfect for a sigma stage. reminds me of megaman x3 in some bits. I agree that it would rather fit to be one of the later final stages. apart from the intro I would not take the drums out at any moment. it kind of cuts the pace. but keep making those wonderful tunes man, you've got some damn fine skills.
If you used this in a loop, I think you should have the drums continue when it goes around like how Storm Eagle does it. Looping when there is an intro sometimes halts the momentum IMO. But otherwise, really cool.
The three x songs you've composed are great and have motivated me to make a MMX engine in MMF2. Mastodon is even my ringtone XD. It sounds sorta like storm eagle, but factory-ish. I'm thinking around Borazon Buzzard. That actually has a ring to is : D.
This definitely sounds a lot like your 8-bit tunes, but that's because of your style of writing, rather than the 8-bit Mega Man style. It definitely has more of an MMX feel than a lot of MMX games. (I'm lookin at YOU, X4)

I could see this in either a MMX or Classic game. You've got the X-style riffs and guitar but the main melody would also fit in a classic tune too I think. This fusion of styles is better than either of them on their own.
