There is this thing called a citizenship test. He took it and passed. He's not ashamed of being European. He still makes jokes about it, but he is proud of being an American as well.

If he were anti-American he wouldn't have bothered becoming a US citizen. His show was doing perfectly fine before becoming a citizen, so he didn't do it for a ratings boost, if that's being implied. In response to ducksoup2007, I would say that you are who you choose to be. Ferguson doesn't neglect or deny his Scottish upbringing, but he has chosen to be an American.

Financial instituations took all the risks they took because they knew they could never fail. This script has been written before. This happened in 1988 when the savings & loans failed and the government bailed them out then. The problem with this bailout is that the banks will get to write off entire loans and receive more than market value for the property they hold. So the banks will turn a profit for failure. Wow.
