@phillytube09 Heh, legging is an iffy thing to do in MWLL. I've seen so many people get killed because... well, that 'mech they're ignoring, the one missing a leg and lying still on the ground? It's still piloted and the weapons still work. I love watching toppled mechs make a comeback. Otherwise, the new field repair bases certainly make life easier for those of us limping home.
@SardaukarDS Oh cool! Field repair bases? Nice. I do not have MWLL yet but I have been watching its development closely. I'm excited to get it. (I still hate legging) ;-)
I've been watching 10 or 12 videos with this game, and it seems largely that the worst you can do, is buy a big mech...at all. The smaller you are, the more likely you are to pwn with ease...excuse me but isn't this premise just silly?
It may not be this way, but shouldnt it be that if you do have a large expensive mech, you have at least *some* advantage of a guy in an Element suit?
@DrDopehat The success of the Elemental hinges on the fact that most pilots have no idea how to fight them. Check the "annoying little flies" video- or any of the old videos that had me in an Awesome (big mech). When beset by battle armor, simply backpedal. They cannot keep up, and are usually dead in a single shot from most medium or heavy weapons. However, most players just spin around uselessly, or ignore the Elemental outright.
BA aren't as hard to deal with when you get a bead on them. I do far more damage and get double the confirmed kills in a Warhammer than I do in anything smaller. I could go for bigger mechs, but I've always been a fan of the Warhammer and it's versatility.
Plus, if you're playing with people unnacustomned to BA/Elementals, they get stepped on or killed by tree's. Alot.
@DaveTheJackal The battle armor needs the cover of large 'mechs to get close- often actually riding on them. Against a competent group of mechwarriors with some ranged weaponry, the Elementals wouldn't be able to get close enough for their size and agility to lend them staying power.
I love the n00bs that go for the biggest, most expensive mechs in Test of Strength, then I just hang back in a hawkmoth prime and snipe them, or divebomb them in one of the firebomb aeros... Easy targets ^.^
Great video! I think a good track to use would be the staship troopers theme sound, which has a hint of army/violence, so could be used when there is masses of you guys attacking, or a huge battle.
This makes me really want this game, I love it when you destroy a mech, the explosions are perfect!
Mostly to make the content more engaging. I always place the game audio first, as I seriously detest videos which completely omit it. Video content is rarely if ever cut because of the music, as well; The usual process is that I record until I have 100-200 gigabytes of uncompressed video, and then the next afternoon I have nothing to do, I go through that and filter out the good bits, and then further filter those into videos. [cont'd...]
@SardaukarDS [...cont'd] Then I spend around two hours going through my library, pulling out tracks that fit the timespan or have sections within which do. Generally I only use those which are free to use elsewhere, to avoid copyright issues, and this means most of the music comes from ocremix.org (a fantastic resource). The sort of music is then checked for compatibility with what's going on- for MechWarrior, this means mostly guitars or ambiance. [cont'd...]
@SardaukarDS [...cont'd] Each track which survives this far is then played with the video a few times, noting concurrence between the music and video and general feel. There may be very, very slight edits to the video to make something fit "just right", but usually i edit the music instead. The end result is, ideally, an upload which is both visually and aurally engaging, getting the viewer into the mood of the 'Mech-on-'Mech action. Of course, it doesn't work for everyone. But there it is.
@Smood47 Go make you own damn videos then. If you dont like videos with music then don't watch? Calling something garbage because YOU don't like the way its made/edited/etc just makes you look like a whiner. I don't mind music as long as its fitting as in this video, but when you use crawling in a halo montage for the bazillionth rime then you deserve to be bitched upon. Wich is not the case here.
@chemoman1 LOL it seems what your saying is if I complain about a music that doesn't fit a video its whining but if you do it its ok and its deserved. Get real man.
Respond to this video... ah ok thx i did some research and found out it does 1300 dmg oved its duration is this its 0.3.0 or post nerf 0.3.1? im so glad they are working on dedicated BA role cant wait for a claw :D
@Sailororc@marloweAUT The yellow beam is the immensely useful Micro Heavy Beam Laser, a 10,000-odd C-Bill weapon which is as damaging as it sounds. The last scene was a kill where I landed a C8 on a damaged 'mechs torso. Did the damage come from that Cougar landing on him? It's a mystery. And for honesty's sake: The small cut of time from the second-to-last Atlas kill (Bogeyman) contained me prematurely completing that first jump... right in front of his PPC.
I leg quite often in MWLL and mw4, not because i cant kill you any other way, but because your butthurt only makes my penis harder.

I DO NOT APPRECIATE LEGGING!!! IT IS THE LOWEST FORM OF COMBAT!! AND VERY VERY CHEAP!! Some people just ruin the fun for everyone else!

You'd think that they would know back pedaling is the way to go, considering that's the best way to bring them down in battletech that I've found.
onigojira 11 months ago
@SardaukarDS Why would any military waste money on the big mechs though. You could outfit many many elementals for the same resource cost ...

No music next time please!

Love these vids - favorite part of this one is the mech getting capped at 2:50, while the mushroom cloud is rising behind the action. WOO
and btw, the music perfect. Not too common and very subtle in the background, while the action can clearly be heard.

@SardaukarDS I appreciate your effort but there is nothing engaging about garbage music interfering with the epic game sound.

What is that yellow laser? Is it a remodel for the small laser or is it a new BA weapon for 0.3.0?
Sailororc 1 year ago
@Sailororc It's called a heavy micro laser (micro heavy laser?), and it's a whole big can of whoop ass, but you can't take it in any vehicles.

WTF was the last scene?
Looks like he destroyed the other mech by jumping on him.
good video, a bit too much BA action in my opinion but good mix overall.
