The book seems to be very different then this movie in the way that Lolita is portrayed in the book she is very childish, and is a victim , but in this movie Lolita doesn't look like a 12 year old girl she looks like a young woman and acts like it too, she looks like she is in control of the situation and that she is seducing him , I guess they didn't want to make the movie as disturbing as the book is

Okay, I'm around 1/4 done with the book... I wanted to see if the film would help me understand the book a little better

So then, Lolita and Humbert actually do engage in a scene like this? or is this another "Hollywood" exaggeration?

Because as I'm reading, Lo seems to be a bit more childish isn't she?

@melliejujubee11 yes, you are absolutely correct, in the book Lolita is as childish as a 12 can be. In fact, for very few exceptions, you wont ever be seeing her "seducing" Humbert in the ways that are displayed in the movie.

It is indeed one more of Hollywood´s misreads of great literary masterpieces.
