What are 'extracotrs'? I've never heard of this modification. Is it some sort of power enhancing part?

i have a readback on my ef but i dont get that popping sound on backoff. sometimes i lil burble but thats all, is it because of the extractors?

gday um it usta buble a bit but now i have new fuel wich is 98 octain and it may need tuning and servicing.but i dont thingk its the extractors and the cats empty wich makes it sound a bit off aswell, cheers
