Linux Mint 12 Lisa: How to install more extensions for Gnome Shell

if i decide to intall linux mint 12 while having windows 7 as my OS would i loose all my stuff --> archives, programs etc...?

does the compiz action works over the main gnome3 section?... because i'm trying to use compiz action on the gnome3 shell and its not working out for me

@Oshanyb4 Compiz only works with MATE as far as I know. I have tested it and it works. The reason compiz doesn't work with gnome 3 is because it uses Mutter as the window manager.
