  • What do you mean by Yankele?

  • The lyrics do not always fit to the words he is singing. But that doesn't really matter. Beautiful song, thank you for uploading! :)

  • Thank you so much for the lyrics, I can understand some of the High German cognates, lovely !!!

  • Beautiful language and beautiful song

  • Wonderful song....Yiddish is a so beautiful and expressive language. Il reflects all the soul, heart, and endless sufferings of Jewish people. This song is so beautiful that it makes cry.

Mordechai, we shall never forget you.

A goy who also loves his jewish brothers.

  • Poop tastes like a welsh dictionary

  • It's very nice!

  • das ist echt so scheijn :)

  • Very Beautiful.

  • I love Yiddish

  • who is this singing?

  • @mbe1234567 It's Mosche Leiser (french actor and singer) accompained by Ami Flammer on violon and Gerard Barreaux on accordion. In my oppinion they are the foremost yiddish songs performers. Their interpretation is deeply moving and fragile in instrumentation, touching in dynamics and simply beutiful. Their version of Rozinkes mit Mandeln is ingenious using the whistling with violon harmonics as a second voice. Unfortunatelly it is not to be found here.

  • wonderful lullaby, i loveGebirtig....,

  • Very beautiful... and somehow sad too.

  • Mordechai Gerbirtig was one the great Yiddish poets who was brutally murdered by the Nazi's(may their names be erased from all history) . How many more poems and songs could we have had if this were not so?

  • it was my lullaby, too...
