Inspiring playing from two masters, the reaction of the crowd at times says it all. great respect and admiration for Hill and Linnane, who lets not forget, in their youth recorded one of the greatest traditional music albums of all time.
All you younger players ...note the great sense of rhythm and melody ..with the occasional bit of harmony ...start of the Lark in the Morning. and other instances... thrown in to great effect. Also the Phrasing ...often one full bar or longer.
@Lisnageeragh I agree in everything you say Sir. I have plenty of work to do to be able to get this great sense of rhythm and melody, I would like to start someday to get that occasional bit of harmony, and I know my phrasing needs to be improved a lot. But I think that these things also apply to some older players, and after watching your videos, I'm sorry to tell you that you are included my friend.
The tunes played in this video are: First - The Lark's March. Second - The Lark in the Morning
@chirritutiplen At your age a good teacher and a bit of keen listening will solve your problems ...at my age ....I'm probably a lost cause !...if you come over for the fleadh give me a shout .
@Lisnageeragh Thanks for the advise, I wouldn't say I've got a problem, I just have plenty to learn, and I don't think this is a problem. Thanks for the invitation to the fleadh, I suppose you mean the Ennis Trad Festival. I've never been there, if I go there someday I will give you a shout.
