  • I'M SLAIN!

  • Go ahead and fan your ownself sista 6:01 - 6:09

  • Loretta is a SANGER! Jesus!

  • This is my Favorite song by Miss Loretta Oliver, she goes down deep in her soul to sing this thing. "Something About GOD'S GRACE" !! Yes Lord, Yes Lord!!

  • rev nicks wrote the song and was outstanding in the performance. loretta puts her own spin on it and does a great job. recognize that

  • Though I've commented on this one before, the SPIRIT is just so high in this video. This was REAL WORSHIP and acknowledgement of who God is. This was not a performance; you just can't "rehearse" the movement of the Holy Spirit.

Loretta sand that song for somebody that Sunday, but this morning (5:09 a.m. in Chicago) she sang it just for me!! Praise God!!!

  • Something about GOD'S Grace! Sing on Ms. Loretta!

  • YES ... OH MY GOOD.... VERY GOD. BRAZIL

  • Sang Mrs. Loretta. Good God Almighty. St. James, Detroit, has a good version of this song also, but, nobody sing it little Sister Loretta Oliver. Bless the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus The Christ. There is something truely about God's Grace.

  • PREACH LORETTA OLIVER!!!!!

  • No it aint!

  • wow i love this woman and this is my 1st time hearing her wow

  • @b1210c , I concur!

  • @b1210c I concur with this. You know why that is, it's because, it's spirit touching spirit.

  • ok...i read down further...my church (st james) sang the original....kudo's to Loretta Oliver...the female version...wonderful!!!!!

  • Ok...i need to know...who sang this song first..was it fellowship or was it st james adult choir(Herman Fredricks was the lead)?....being a mamber of st james all i heard was that version until i saw this video

  • This song derives from Dionne Warwick's classic "Something" written by Burt Bachrach and Hal David.

  • There is nothing like the ole school church!!!! I love this! Grace has kept me while I was typing this comment!

  • GODS GRACE IS SO AMAZING!

  • clay evans had to put icing on the cake. alright now!!!!!

  • Ive got to testify ya'll! some years ago, The Devil almost swallowed my life! But Gods grace took me just in time. I was suffering from post partum depression, I had a baby and was all alone with my resposibilities! It was like everything I touched turn to mud...came back home to Chicago and well...God is...GUUUD! Hallelujah!

  • gloooooooooooooooooorrrrrrrrrrrrraaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy!!!!!

  • Hallelu!!!!!!!!!!! There's something about God's Grace.

  • @GoldenLarkVoice Praise GOD!! His grace kept you, didn't it? 2 Corinthians 12: 9-10 (Hallelujah!!!)

  • its sounds like loretta was preaching right before she sat down.after that song rev clay should have stayed seated because loretta did the sermon.

  • Stop .. lol.. you know all them COGIC women can preach anyway....

  • thats true

  • @ChiOne07 old school Baptist preachers are going to preach regardless...

  • @ChiOne07 I thought she was Baptist

  • @LiftingHimUp Haha.. Yea she's sing at Fellowship which is baptist. But she and her sister Vernon Oliver Price (another vocal powerhouse) were raised COGIC. Vernon still is i think. Check your mail

  • Sing Mama!!!

  • No offense but can't NOBODY sing this like Ms. Oliver and Fellowship!! Lord I misstheir Saturday night broadcast right before Saturday night sing with Taft Harris (old skool ain't it LMBO) on channel 38

  • Sister Oliver does an awesome job no doubt about it, but NOTHING and i do mean NOTHING tops the original version done by Rev. Charles Nicks & the St. James Adult Choir of Detroit.

  • This is not a competition between St. James (of which my uncle Roscoe Stanley and his wife were members) and Fellowship, but you have to admit that the SPIRIT was HIGH on this particular Sunday as Loretta sang this song.

You are right, Nicks and St. James were no joke either. Prior to living in Chicago, I spent most summers and my first year of college in Detroit. I stayed on Sussex off Joy Rd. near Greenfield. St. James' broadcast was ALWAYS good. I was there when C.L. Franklin died.

  • i never said she didn't, Sis Oliver sang the daylights outta this!! but it's just nothing like the original, i've heard many choirs sing "What A Fellowship" they were good but it's not like Fellowships version!! St. James would wreck a church with this even before they sang one note!!

C.L. was my pastor, i was born and raised in New Bethel. i joined St. James in the late 70's.

  • i'm sorry loretta woke up this song compared to the original, hey i feel an utterance coming, lol

  • we just agree to disagree, while Sis Oliver puts her own unique styling to this and does a wonderful job indeed, it's just not the original. St. James made this a classic and Fellowship did the best remake of this i've ever heard. bottom line is both versions minister.

    God Bless.

  • Heellllllooooo!!!! Aaaammeeennn! I'm an old-skool Chi-townian!!! And ohhhhhh how I mmmiiiisssss this sound of gospel in Chicago...and CAN'T NOBODY 'RECT A CHOIR LIKE REGGIE!!!!! ....Thank God for the precious memories!!!!!!

  • YES LAWD

  • all you can say is classic

  • This is Church!

  • I love this song!!! Do anyone have anymore Vedios of Mrs.Loretta Oliver

  • sapranos are killin!!!

  • YES THEY ARE!

  • there sopranos are always beastly!

  • oh god yes!!!! these new age sopranos dont even use them pipes like the mothas did!!! lol but i'll hit a note in a second!!!! lol

  • LOL!!!! ALRIGHT NOW! i dont fool with soprano though, lol, i'll sing an alto part inna minute though, they gonna kick me out the tenor section directly! lol

  • be careful. Im new age but no no hen??? you never know whose reading???

  • well motha, no dissin here, but i be hittin the notes cuz sopranos r scared or smethin when a song calls for it... u betta be hittin thm high!!!!! lol

  • I love a challenge (Hee! Hee!) But they do seem scared in my section or they belt too hard!!! I have even heard some vibrato... especially some them ones in the front LOL!

  • ha!!!!! and a challenge u will receive!!! lol but the lord gives us all dif'rent singn abilities. so i use my coloratura range, altho ima guy, cuz its for him...plus in all the choirs i sing in, our sopranos be too shy or afraid to hit them high end notes...THEY BETTA WATCH OUT!!!! lol ur great!!

  • Did anyone catch how LONG the choir held the last note?????????

  • eveytime it does something to my spirit...I really like the arrangement on the song haven't heard it done like that before

  • SANG THAT! DO IT UP BAPTIST!!!!

  • Oh-my-Lord! Something About God's grace! Something about Ms. Loretta's voice. Good-God-yes! Thank God for her life example in song. I remember her & the choir singing His Yoke Is Easy. She brings great deliverance to the people. May The Lord add strength and years to Pastor, Father, Rev. Clay Evans. What a life-example unto the the Lord's Church. Pray the Lord continue to give The Ship strength and courage to go forward in faith. "Psalmist David", Cleveland Ohio.

  • Loretta sung that song but it's all about the ending!

  • okay!!! I wanna see the praise break to this!!

  • "Sang Loretta Oliver.........HEH HEH HEH GLOOOOORAAAAAY!!! The SHIP is too CRUNK."

  • yall betta sang the song...haha

    my God My God

This took Me back from into to the end of the video

  • Now that's singing right there! Loretta Oliver still has it.

  • I love this song that Miss Loretta ministers. One time I was thinking about it all week and guess what the Lord showed me some favor and we sung that Sunday!!! I did not know we were going to do it at all...

  • Another classic song that was created & song by thee 1 & only REV. CHARLES NICKS JR. & THE ST. JAMES ADULT CHOIR OF DETROIT,MI! This song is on there first album entitled The Gospel According to St. James! 1975!

  • Yes sir! I have that project!

    dex (zm)

  • Her sister is something serious too!!! They both have tht power in their voices.

  • Why can't I stop watching this? When she said, "you ask me how...." I almost fell out of my chair!

  • Man, Loretta Oliver is one singing woman. I was an avid "What A Fellowship Hour" listener every Sunday night.... Man, I wish church choirs would go back to that type of spirit and anointing in singing. Fellowship Baptist Church aka Fellowship Sanctified & Holy Ghost Filled Baptist Church.

  • i have been listning to this song all day!!! GOd bless the poster!

  • Somebody is killing that 1st soprano, thats awesome!!!

  • Hey twahnnc, that would be Ms. Yvette Markham-Green Killing the Soprano note... She a Stratospheric Soprano, She was in her early 20's back in the late 90's when this service was tapped... She still got it to this day! :)

  • Canabis, I think you switched two adjectives: Yvette was probably in her LATE twenties during the EARLY nineties when this service was taped. I agree with you that she still maintains GREAT range. My opinion is that she and Felicia had the highest range of the soprano section--at least during my time at Fellowship. By the way, what's up with that login name? I pray that spirit is conquered in Jesus' name. Be blessed AND bless others because you can't withdraw from the account unless you deposit.

  • Don't forget Felecia's sister Sylvia

  • Reminds me of home.

  • Now this is what I am talking about!!!!!

  • Oh yes!!! Rev. Charles Nicks!!!!

  • Absolutely wonderful.

  • Something About the Grace of God will lift you up and carry that with me everyday of my life and i just have to give him all praise THANK YOU JESUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • WOW.......GOD"S GRACE indeed. Talk about singing, she surely can sing...... and the choir is soo......POWERFUL. Wish we had choirs like this in England.

  • My GOD....GRACE!

  • Now that's what you call singing!! Her sister Vernon Oliver-Price tears it up for St. Paul Church of God in Christ!!!

  • Do they have anything on youtube posted

  • When I hear this song I have to hold my seat it make me want to shout everytime!! I love to hear her sing..

  • Oh my God Loretta's voice is so powerful. It's like hearing an entire sermon in a song. She is such a blessing I love her so much!!

  • that lady in that red hat has me falling out! Sing Loretta!!!!!!

  • Beautiful song.

  • The Spirit in Loretta ripped up the place, but Clay didn't make it ANY better. This takes the soul to HIGHER heights. Praise God for GRACE!!!!

  • Hey Chione.....do you have any other clips featuring some of the classic FELLOWSHIP singers. It's been so long I can't remember names.....but there's the soprano that always led that song HE'S MY EVERYTHING...and the lady that would lead HOW I GOT OVER. I'm sure someone knows who they are....those were their songs...lol...no one else led them.

  • The lady that leads 'He's My Everything' is Mary Stinson. The lady leading 'How I Got Over' is Dorothy Anderson. When I lived in Chicago I came within a hair's width of joining Fellowship.

Also we need a posting of Diane Simms leading 'He's Working It Out' and Annie Benson leading 'I've Got A Testimony'.
