we saw the stranglers at Leeds university on the Raven tour way back in 79 and they opened the set with 5 minutes. a bloody great night with a power failure at the start of TANK and fights in the audience as usual. In other words, a typical stranglers gig of the time...no strippers though (sob)

Absolutely - JJ's a far better vocalist than the current bloke (good guitarist as he is). I guess it's hard to play a lot of JJ's busier bass lines and sing at the same time.
