this game took me for almost 1 hour each time i played with it.It´s imposible for a person to complete it in 10 minutes.You must be a maniac mansion´s genius!!!

My friend and I use to beat the most difficult games. He is now a doctor and I support myself as an artist. Here to the smart kids beating the hardest games! BTW the internet didn't exist back then, we beat our games on hard headedness!

So... i haven't played this game in years... i am insanely curious as to how you knew the doorcode was 0000... i NEVER could figure that out, hence i could never beat the game!
The worst part - beating the game once isn't really completing it. There's at least four entirely different endings I can think of (each of which has several variations), depending on which kids you bring along, not including the bad endings. There's even four completely different ways to get past the Purple Tentacle at the end (not including the glitch seen in these speedrun videos).
@Cuchie315 It's not too hard. If you send the car into space without the meteor in it, it will destroy the garage. This, in turn, blows off the gate door, so you can enter the house with the meteor. Then, rush upstairs and give the meteor to the plant before time runs out. When the plant eats it, he'll say "B-U-R-P!" and the game will go to the victory cutscene.
After much headache as a child, I beat this game putting that meteor on a talk show (the publishing guys) I think you needed Wendy to do that ending. I thought it was funnier then to throw that space rock in the car and send it packing into the abyss. You definitely did this fast though. Kudos!

The NES version adds a fun additional way to off the Meteor. Instead of sending the Meteor flying into space by placing it in the trunk of the Edsel and turning on the modified rocket engine, launch the Edsel without the Meteor. This will demolish the garage and leave a hole in the previously locked fence which will allow you to re-enter the mansion. Run all the way up to the den on the top floor of the mansion before the timer runs out and you can feed the Meteor to the man-eating plant!
Helping the tentacle is not a legend. Take the plate from its room, record it on the tape and send the tape to the adress in the TV. The envelope is in Ednas safe, use the tipewriter. Then the tentacle goes to the laboratory with you.
good job...ur only flaw was the code to the security door in the dungeon. ur supposed to play thta video game or whatever to get it off the high score....its pretty much cheating if u already had the code without uptaining it the right way.
I would always beat it by calling the space police and have them arrest the tentacle. I think there are five or six different endings. I know that another one has something to do with helping the green tentacle record and send in a demo tape. or maybe that was just some sort of video game urban legend...
