  • I've saw him live before! He's amazing. I love him!♥

  • My Favorite Country Song EVER =) Reminds me of my childhood.

  • I am 37,uhhg in a month I will turn 38,everything to this song is the absolute truth when i was a young child. We didnt have the society we have now.and to much has been changed to be socially correct...it is a shame we have lost this world for the one we have now... such alot of things was tossed wayside to "improvment" and yes techonologically we are vastly improved but in our hearts and soul it isnt there.I wish our society had remembered what made us and kept that part.

  • this song is awesome. I felt so safe back then. we didnt have to lock the doors. i wish we could take back our world. Thanks for letting me hear it again.

  • Love this song I was a 90s kid but I think some of think stuff I can relate to

  • It WAS a different world growing up in the 60' s and 70's . Our parents did'nt spoil us and make sissies outta us.

  • I grew up in the 50's &60's Viet Nam .Lebanon U.S.M.C. Still got mt ass whooped for cussing in front of Momma ,I miss the REAL GOOD OLD DAYS

  • only if today's modern world was like back then maybe we might have a smaller crime rate

  • this is the truth and everyone knos it

  • He looks like alan jacksons molester son....good song untill you see him.

  • @weareporcelainflys1 What's your problem?Did he beat you out in American Idle?

  • @weareporcelainflys1 nothing wrong with the way he looks...nice fellow too.

  • wow.. i still play outside and drink from a waterhose. hell i still go down to the creek my fav place to go ever! and yeah i would still get daddy's belt if i misbehaved. but something u dont see now anymore is the pledge of alligiance in schools.

  • he used to live like 10 minutes from me :( lol

  • i love country,i love this song,im a country girl born and raised!

  • I like him :)

  • hahaha, i remember when me and my friends got told "get outside to play!!!" we were always outside :P then, when we got full of mud, parents were still mad! we couldnt win hahah

  • Wish life would change back into times like these, Seems like a damn good life. Why did we have to get so damn complicated, Times need to go back to simple times like this.

  • i am 31 and he takes me back with this song!!, except my parent use to lock us outside all day, never came to check on us and we would just roam all day, AWWW THE GOOD OLD DAYS, man i miss them, life seem so much easier when someone had to worry..

  • ah im 17 and i own a 1965 Dodge D100 No Seat belts all my friends get scared of it XD

  • I'm only 19 and this sounded like something from my childhood. The giant tv with a knob having only 6 channels. no video games, just riding bicycles around town with friends and horsing around. Shooting bb guns and whatnot.

  • does anyone else notice that this guy is in his 20's singing about a time period he was not alive for

  • @towardstheshadows He's actually older than that... <.<''

  • @towardstheshadows he's actually 34. Which around that time tired of life most of this did still happen.. I'm only 16 and when i was like 5 we didnt have play stations or anything in our house. My family was all about being outside and everything.

  • @towardstheshadows he is 34 people and being 34 my self everything in this song is true

  • @towardstheshadows actully he just 35 in november

  • 21 i grew up most of my life like this im not a drug dealer iv never been in jail and i dotn blame my parent for any of the times i got spanked for i know it made me what i am as of right im im just some guy going to school trying ot make the best of my life thanks to my parents pointing out the right way and none of this corner crap or light slap on the hand .

  • bottle water makes every nature nazi cry 'your killing earth" and we all respond nope thats what garden hoses r made for right

  • does anyone know what happened to bucky covington

  • @babygirl480941 He still travels around playing and singing. Hes supossed to have a new CD out the first part of 2012!!!! Hes awesome. Ive seen him twice, great guy!!!!!

  • Im 22 and did most of the things mentioned in this song. it's sad to think the younger generation is growing up fat, medicated, unfamiliar with the outdoors and are being led to believe that (as declared by Congress) Pizza is a vegetable. I'm proud to be a 90's kid, back when kids had as much freedom as they did structure.

  • @artaddiction101 Don't be stupid, Congress did not declare pizza as a vegetable. Tomato paste has always been considered a serving of vegetable and Congress just allowed it to remain that way. Don't believe stupid internet memes.

  • @ButterflyDragon9 my bad, I did the research on the Agriculture Appropriations Bills and yes it was tomato paste. But still, tomatoes are fruit, not a vegetable.

  • this is all true for me except that my mother didn't smoke or drink....I had a great childhood.

  • I wish i had that guys hair

  • im related to himmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

  • Yeha I Wished i Lived Back Then, Then Now.

  • I miss this different world he sings of, now days people are all faggots and them kids get everything they want and none of them know how to play sports or any of them old games like hide n go seek or tag.......love the song, country is real.

  • 14 i still drink from a garden hose! and i get daddys belt1 and i always play ouside so take that modern world and suck it!! im not even from the old days and im cooler than you Thumbs Up!!!!

  • @boobmonkey13 although u do, it still isnt the same as it was back then. everybody is caught up n technology today that they dont enjoy the simply, ORIGINAL pleasures of life.

  • @boobmonkey13

yet you are in youtube commenting like that ..

anyway .. the song is just awesome .. it reminds me of my childhood ^.^

    awesome time :)

  • @boobmonkey13 Hellyeah!

  • Good song. But I play video games now. Im 19, but when I was a kid parents had too drag me inside. Haha

  • I love this song, it was the last song my grandmother sang before she passed away.

  • Why wasnt he Bigger?

  • i saw him in concert no moroe than 3 feet away from him and the stage...this has to be 100x's better live.

  • no video games no sattlelight global warming dosnt exsist even today even fast food processed food frozen food premade food and school food was even homade back then we only drank from a gardern hose no plastic was around back than there was only glass tires were not made with chemcials back then they were made with real rubber styrofoam never exsisted back then

  • im 15 and every kid is it rap crap 92% people turn to that s h i t and he other 8% r into county getterdone

  • @themPRrangers1 So because i was raised in the city means that i am sh*t? to be honest mate, this isn't fair. Not my fault my parents raised me in a city.

  • @themPRrangers1 .. thats becuz most of today's country sucks! There are only a few country artists i like and bucky is one of them.. the 80's country is real country! I like 80's music period, (rock n roll and counrty) better than i do rap

  • @themPRrangers1 haha is that why you cant spell or type very good?

  • We had long hair probably more then the now...and peirced ears back in the 70's

  • Amazing.

  • People change things with the intention of making the world better. But, is the world better or is it just different? It's something to really think about. But, it's important to know that that was the intention when deliberate changes are made in society. I love this song because it reminds us just how many things really, really have changed over the years and he just touched on SOME of them.

  • Im 13. i love hangin outside with my friends i love huntin i love fishin i love ridin horses ive never rlly even wore a helmet on a bike.I live In KNOX INDIANA. I love that place. most of us are cow girls and cowboys were the ones that were raised right. so were some other ones. but I OVE this song.THere aint nothin better then bein outside with friends huntin fishin and ridin horses(: and that good ol' cpuntry music and man you gotta love jesus GOD BLESS YALL

  • It was a better world.

  • i love how he sings about the old ways but has long hair and pierced ears

  • This song was playing in the delivery room the day my son was born. It's always going to be really special to me and hopefully him also when he gets older.

  • This song makes me wanna cry. I remember waking up & running right outside to where my friends already were. The garden hose... best water in the world! People overreact now adays, cant believe whats happening to our kids. Its now CRAZY if you dont have your kids wear helmets. Things were easier & much more carefree. It WAS a better world. Now all kids live for are cellphones, facebook, and vid games. Its truly sad. Im proud to live in those years. Cheers 4 the good old carefree days!

  • they say you cant stop change. Im almost 20 years old and I wish I was born away from this generation.

  • How is it that I can love this song when I don't really like country music at all? Anyway, I think I should have been the one to sing this because, come on Bucky, we all know you were standing on a chair playing Pac Man when you were 3.

  • I think I lost faith in kids today. I was at the park with a couple of friends b4 my church youth group started and I saw about 4 or 5 twelve year old boys sitting at a bench with a football and they were all texting away on their phones so I walked over 2 them to ask if they wnted 2 play catch & they did but the entire damn time all they did was check their phones. It was ridiculous! Technology ruined everything. Im a 16 year old girl and can say I was born to the wrong generation. Sad ):

  • @ilovemusic2death i agree with u ,

  • @ilovemusic2death I agree dude-ete. lol I hate this generation, I want to have been born in the 70's (so i could live in the 80's) It's so sad what Tv, Music, Art, and most everything else has turned into. T.T

  • I'm 22 and i can tell that things have changed alot since i was younger. Technology was just starting to come out in my era.

  • marry me, bucky? :)

  • the world has radically changed as everyone from this era and some of those not realize that the entire world as we know it changed forever( im 21 and i can see that)

  • Cursive is a dieing Art. They don't teach it in school anymore. I will make sure my children learn it. That's for dang sure.

  • @hagen5690 I hear ya! I asked my 12 yr old son to write his name in cursive and he said"what's that?" !! He couldn't read a sentence in cursive and he's in middle school honors classes! So Now I'm teaching him... schools? pssssssh. This song brings me back to when I was growing up and we didn't even have to lock our doors.

  • @macr500 im 17 and sadly cant right cursive, they tought a little of it to us in third grade. But they gave up. Lol but its all good

  • NO VIDEO GAMES WHAT KIND OF WORLD WAS THIS!?!?!?!?!?! (ps im 13)

  • @titanfighter12 It was a BETTER world. Technology is making this world horrid. Look up these; Atari, Nintendo , Nintendo Gameboy 1989 , Sega Genesis. Those are the games I grew up with. I miss them dearly. I still have a my Gameboy. It still works. I also have a Super Nintendo. I am VERY old fashioned. My 12 year old cousin made fun of my for getting my first CD when I was 11. They didn't EXIST until then. We had cassette tapes before that. I would also like to say, The Wii scares me.O_o

  • So he ate lead paint and mother was a crack whore? So that explains this crappy country song.

  • @dean2663

Did your mom throw you against a wall too many times, trying to shut your ignorant ass up, that you went deaf? Js, because this song is wonderful.

  • @dean2663 Lol. Funny. What he's saying, since you obviousley don't get it because you don't have the patience to listen to a country song, is that people overreact now adays. Mothers smoked and drank, babies were in lead paint cribs, & THEY TURNED OUT JUST FINE. There ya go bud, just givin you a heads up. (:

  • @dean2663 NO you just stupid this is a great country song

  • great song.

  • I commend all you younger kids for the comments. At least your recognizing the difference. It really was a whole lot better back then>

  • @Bassmastr100 I'm 16. I think the point of this song was to acknowledge the fact that with time comes change. He sings"we were born to mothers who smoked and drank", I'm not sure how this makes your generation better than the next. He also sings that it was a "different world" not a "better world."

  • @comfycozyarewe1 No. It was better. Trust me.

  • @comfycozyarewe1 I think it was a totally justified smack at the lawyers and wusses. It seems to highlight that we are probably over-reacting about things like, lead-based paint covered cribs, riding without a helmet (oh my!), and a mother drinking while pregnant (*gasps*) It seems to me that the days of little children walking to school became, "ride the bus, or be kidnapped" and "play video games so you don't get hurt playing rough sports like football or Frisbee". I think. I wish I KNEW.

  • i wish i would have been born back then...in a different world. maybe if moms and dads would discipline and love there children like their parents did with them, maybe it would still be the same world.

  • @hunterdue1 agree!! i wish i was born then to thankfully my parent were old fashion in that sense but it was bound to catch up with us :O(

  • 10 ppl where firends outside xD

  • Lol L.A. teacher showed us this in class today. Pretty epic song not gonna lie.

  • No Video games and no Satillites we had are friends and they were outside.. thats the way it was back in the 70s and 80s the way it shouild be now

  • @jacritter70 it was that way long before the 70's,too.That way in the 50's/60's! And we had a lot of fun.

  • Bucky is coming to our town tomorrow. Playing at our fair....should be fun!

  • Im 14, And I sooo wish I had my mom and dads Chidhood instead of this crapp nowadays..

  • im 13 swim yeah i use cell phones to make a date to hang out i drink from a garden hose

  • or you got your mouth washed out with soap for using profanity..and we had to be home before dark..

  • @SuperRapper12345 I still have to be home before dark. :)

  • You know, I've watched this video over and over and I never got the gist of it until I watched the end of the video.

  • way to go Bunky! your the best!

  • did bucky film the car scenes in his family body shop building?

  • Im 17, and even tho our generation was not as good as the one before, but sadly i think my generation is gonna be the last one that went outside and played with their friends, drank from the water hose, or had your dad teach you how to drive the old rust bucket in the pasture at 10. I hate to say it, but i see that happen. But i know for damn sure my kids going to be outside playing or hunting, or workin his ass off making a honest buck at the ranch.

  • @BIGTEXESC:When i have kids they will be playin and workin outside huntin and fishin.thats just the way i was raised<3

  • @BIGTEXESC We also are doing this! HOMESCHOOL YOUR CHILDREN AND SAVE THEIR SOULS FROM GOVERNMENT SCHOOLS!

  • @SuperPatriotMom I home scholl my kids. i was raised in the country on a dairy farm. Most kids these days dont have the since of responsibilities we had. My kids watch one hour of tv and play outside. They fish and craft and read. This is the future i want for my kids. We say the pledge every morning.

  • @BIGTEXESC exactly.. i see only a few young kids run around my neighborhood during the summer and weekends. When i was their age (im 20) me and all my neighborhood friends would be outside playing from the time we woke up to the time we had to go home for dinner, then after dinner we all met up again and played night games til curfew. I learned how to drive in a truck on an old dirt road during deer season. Like Rodney Atkins said "I was lucky and I didnt even know it growing up like that"

  • @BIGTEXESC rest assured that I will also have my kids outside playing, hunting, or fishing instead of video games. It is way more fun playing outside than playing video games or watching tv.

  • @BIGTEXESC LOVE IT!! WE NEED MORE PEOPLE LIKE YOU AND I !!

  • @BIGTEXESC I like you.. We think alike, haha, my kids aint gonna sit inside all day playin video games or watchin tv, there gonna be huntin, fishing, playin sports, or workin on the farm

  • @BIGTEXESC jus turned 18 fully agree people now a days are lazy and have no discipline, -we got daddys belt when we mis behave- ill forever remember that line haha

  • @BIGTEXESC im 37 and your right makes my heart smile to know someone ur age can get that. and how much our world has changed. and gives me hope that u want be the last

  • @BIGTEXESC feaking awesome

  • although im 16, back in oklahoma i grew up mostly in my dads semi truck or old blue ford. whenever i was home, shit all i had was an atari and record player.

  • This song reminds me of just how different life as a kid is from life with my kids now. When I was a kid we washed laundry by hand, watched black and white tv with an atennna, no phones, no car seats. No one plays outside anymore, their to glued to the stallite tv, the wireless internet, the cell phone and their video games. They get in more trouble too cause everyone is afraid to spank them. It was a different world back then, and kids showed more respect.

  • he came to my school

  • It kind of sucks being born in 94, oh well have to deal with what I have to deal with. I'm going to raise my kids different than what Is what is now expected, Curfew will be lightning bugs, Call them inside by their name, not cell phone, I'll let them drink from the hose and say they lived after haha, Not much video games.

  • LOVE!!!

  • love this song, never really got to live real hard or had to play outside but man it sounds so much better.i am sure that the good outways the bad. I wish stores were closed on sunday cuz church and friday early cuz football games were the thing to do in town.

  • epic song. he needs to make a comeback

  • yea boi!

  • love this song bring's back memories of good old day's

  • you know when you just wanna hear that one song but realy cant think of it.... i think this is one of those songs

  • I cant believe the jealouosy of the people from Rockingham that hate to see someone succeed! Go figure and they all sitting in thier broke down houses in thier broke down town in thier broke down county!!!! Screw them!

  • If you were in the house for more than ten minutes then you were either there to eat or watching Saturday morning cartoon's! Oh! Don't forget that if your Dad wasn't home and you got in trouble down at the neighbor's house then he gave you a whipp'n! It was a different life and my how wonderful it was!

  • this is one of my favorite songs and I wish things where still the way they were back then back when gas was cheap and prices where not through the roof on stuff and back when schools did say the pledge of the alliegence to the flag of the United States of America. also when stores where closed on Sunday for church every thing according to now seem to be an was much better then now. GOD Bless Y"all

  • @The211988Drew ME TOOOOOOOOOOO!

  • my faamily still has to go outside to play with our friends we still drink from the hose and ride bikes with no helmets like if your family does to

  • Man I love that song :)

  • Im 70 years old and even with all the hardships and doing without I would go back in a min if I could. Back then everyone helped each other. Families stuck together. Sure things were hard but the good for me outweighed the bad by far

  • N.J. blue laws. We could buy food but no clothes. In the big stores they roped up the clothes section. I always said that Sunday was God's day !

  • This is the reaaaalll shiiit!

  • oh god, I have an ex that looks EXACTLY like him ... im seriously weirded out ...

  • That Was The Life...

  • gone to church be back on monday ive never seen one of them sighns thats really sad thumbs up if you would love to have lifed during to 70s ,80s

  • he is talken bout times back then but it sounds like he is talken bout where i live we do all this stuff

  • "And every Sunday all the stores were closed." Now on Sundays, only the gov't buildings close. Yeah church and state my ass.

  • meetoo

  • Whe riding in the car, my hand against the dash was my seatbelt when I rode in the front seat on my knees. I've never owned a bicycle helmet, my mom would tap anything with skin on it with her paddle when I acted up, We had video games, but they were turned off repeatedly, we rode thousands of miles on our bicycles, and we ate what was put in front of us. And my brother and I turned out alright. Oh, and we weren't invited to every birthday party every kid in our class had.

  • Bucky's gonna be at the Jackson County Junior Fair in Cottageville, W.Va. Ima be there, I hafta be there cuz Ima takin a heifer ta the fair.

    -Shay

  • vevo sucks

  • Speaking of when we wear boys in girls...Who ealse thinks doctors dope to meny kids up on drugs????WHAT happen to woppins???When i was a kid if i did something wrong i got wooped...Now days if you woop your kids someone will call the cops and you and youll go to jail...HELL i use to be afraid to go to wallmart bc it seemed like went there just soo i could get wopped ....Im sure some kids need the meds but NOT all them and not just bc they act out a little bit-

  • @TheGuitarslinger kids act out cuz they need attention or they have too much energy to burn. they need to go outside and RUN around !!

  • @TheGuitarslinger Parents feed their kids cocoa puffs and chocolate milk, then send them to school so hyper they can' sit still, so the teacher sends them to the school nurse who puts them on ritalin to "calm them down." All of this wouldn't happen if the kids were fed bacon and eggs instead of processed sugar.

  • republicans and democrats hate this song. Reminds us what the USA used to be.

  • God Bless you Bucky....what a great song! The liberals are trying to turn this country into a bunch of wet panties. Conservitives will always stand up to crush them..... thank God.

  • damn, so many things about this song i wish would come back today... what a great song

  • he is sooooo amazing and very handsome!

  • i never got daddy's belt cause i never knew my dad until last year. but if i had grown up with him i probably would have

  • Love his hair! Good song too

  • the town im from this is still how it it is every one knows every one the bishop is my math teacher.

  • This song is soo true.. These people now days just don't know how fun it was when our parents was kids.

  • i love this song fuck all u bitches who talk shit

  • So true. Ya we survived in those days. Happier days. I love this song..

  • who the hell could dislike bucky! damn ppl these dayz. they have NO idea what a great singer like bucky is.

  • I was born in '94, and now it 2011 i still get dads belt if i misbehave. Makes me sick to see these young kids mouthin off to their parents.

  • @SouthernRebellion i know my kids won't be doing that shit

  • Love this song Bucky should have more credit for how incredible his songs are :)

  • 7 people are jealous of those of us who have lived this :)

  • 7 people didnt live during the 70s
