A symphony is a large form that normally has 4 movements, or sections. Each movement can stand alone, but most of the time the composer writes each movement based on an idea. It is the unity of the idea that brings the movements together to make a piece.
i'm new into musics, so, can i ask questions? emm, is Brahms created this? and, Klemperer is a conductor to this piece? i don't understand.. do each conductor who conduct this piece, will bring a different sound?
Yes, Johannes Brahms is the composer of this symphony (his 1st symphony), and Otto Klemperer is the conductor of this piece. Every conductor brings a different sound - lets say, Eduard van Beinum reduces the sound of the percussion in the first movement, but Klemperer just brings it right out there. Conductors are free to interpret pieces by their own, of course, within the "limit".
ohh.. is that so? i see, i see.. now i get it..! it's up to the conductor themself how they want to conduct the piece...haa.. glad i know this now.. thank you very much for this knowledge..

This symphony follows this form:
1st movement- slow-fast introduction
2nd movement- romance
3rd movement- scherzo or in a playful mood
4th movement- grand finale

So beautiful. I like Klemperer's way to create music out of an orchestra. I like his Beethoven and Brahms best.
