  • my dream is to live ther :O i hear its like heaven

  • おいおい、ここって神戸市じゃねーか(〃゜д゜;A アセアセ・・・驚いたねこりゃ・・・・。神戸市も海外に日本酒を輸出したらいいのに。今じゃ国内では日本酒は下火になってるからな。

  • Glad you showed this as you looked to be enjoying yourselves. I tried to organise a visit to a sake distillery in Kyushu & shot off an email to them asking if it was okay to visit. No answer came and I concluded they couldn't understand English or didn't want drunk gaigin or what ever.

  • how many drinks of sake will it take to get u drunk i want to know so when i go japen i want to try it

  • Looks like you had a BLAST.

I was at Nada-gogo myself last week, but only managed to find Shu-shin-kan by cab. Attempted to walk around (during the BLAZING summer heat) but the only other sakagura I could find that opens to the public (Taki Koi) was closed for the off-season! By that time, it was too hot and tiresome for my other non-sake loving travel members to continue any further on the fruitless walk through town. (which simply resembled a big industrial complex, btw)

    I hate my life.

  • Little SAKE is good medicin for health. In proverb says Sake is top thing among 100 kinds of medicin.

  • sake is not a bad drink, makes me sleepy though!

  • @jackass5566 no man don't get drunk. Not many adults are responsible enough so at 17 you probably will screw something up. I'm actually 17.

  • im not enough age to drink this:D

    im 17

  • @jackass5566 so what? go and buy some booze and party, you noob.. I started drinking when I was 15

  • @jammetti

    I'll try :)

  • Wats the age limit over there anyway?

  • Im drinking sake with my wife right now.

  • i love hakutsuru brand its my fave, working at a japanese restaurant is an advantage even if im 16

  • Is he homosexual? just curious, I just saw his video for the first time. I mean no offence to him I just want a natural normal answer that's all.

  • @Spartilianz Nope, he has a wife.

  • I'm turning 21 in two months. The first booz I'm drinking legally is sake!

  • I am personally imbibing shochu at the moment, but I enjoy sake too

  • @Jorge1Jigen

Sake is actually meant to be drunk in small tiny saucers or cups to appreciate its more complex subtle or simple flavors. If you drink it too fast and too quickly , you just get drunk faster and might not taste the "good" sake flavor it has.

Sake can be enjoyed by sharing with friends ( like minded ) and with great foods. It is all up to you. Now Sake is not too popular , Beer is not as popular too , Shochu and Low Alcohol Korean Wines are popular in Japan - 2010.

  • So now I have a question for you: Does talking japanese get easier or harder when drunk? ^_^

I like sake it has this nice flavour.

    Have fun!

    - Wolke

  • Funny question, have you every tried to make sake???

  • OMAIGOD ITS BINKS!

  • What does the Japanese think of us Chinese people?

  • Just had some Sake today for the first time ever, it's pretty good!

  • @Enfeeblement

I had mine and it tasted like sweet plum blossom with cherry in it.

    And it costs $110.00 dollars.

  • @MDIS Oh. That's expensive, no? I can buy a bottle of Sake for €7.99 at the supermarket. It tastes like wine made of rice.

  • 熱燗で飲む!!! ;-)

  • is the camera allowed in the sake brew house? you were not kicked out?

  • what is sake ?

  • a fermented rice wine

  • @BusanKevin It's not wine.

  • sometimes i mix rice water with sierra mist and pretend its sakee lol

  • @vlogameir

I did that too , last year.

  • l wanna drink sake.

  • You are sending the erroneous information.

Hakutsuru and KIKUMASAMUNE is not a conscientious company.

They are bought others made, and they say it made themself, and sells it!!

    (It's called "OKEGAI"(桶買い). Please examine it. )

I don't know all companies, but...

A sincere company is "HAKUTAKA(白鷹)" and "YAEGAKI(八重垣)" in NADA district.

They are selling the highest goods, they make sincerity.

It's a manufacturer of famous among annoying people to the taste.

  • You can get Hakutsuru sake LCBOs here in Toronto, I think it should be the same for any other LCBOs.

I've managed to keep a bottle of 1.5L Gekkeikan sake hidden from my mom so far :P Half way through it, good stuff

  • saka!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Japan is sooo beautiful. I visited Toyama years ago and took some priceless photos. I cant wait to go again to visit the Kansai region...

  • Good video. I enjoyed it. Thank you.

Please note that sticks in the "使用済" case are used sticks. He should use new one to eat pickles next time.

  • so is each type the same or does every distillery make theres different ?

  • yes their are many different types of sake

  • Hey so if one does not live in Japan then what would be the best sake or famous sake outside of Japan? I mean have some in restaurants but they generally never show you the bottle, most of the time it's in their own traditional sake bottles.

  • so what does it taste like? if you had to compare it to something?

  • I would say it tastes like vodka or soju without that 'sharp' taste that makes you want to regurgitate, it's sweet but not too sweet and fully flavoured so that you want to simply enjoy it rather then chug it down as quickly as possible.

  • how much % of alcohol does this thing have?

  • about %14-16

  • @BusanKevin

Whenever I'm at a Japanese restaurant I have to be careful not to get wasted on warm sake...

Its taste doesn't reflect its alcohol content lol.

  • @BusanKevin It says 20% on the sheet....

  • @SkiddieOwnage i got a 17%

  • how long have you been in japan?

  • now....1.5 years

  • iam new to sake,i like it yeah

  • 半纏 means coat right?

  • So how was the sparkling sake? I have seen it at the store and have been hesitant to try it. Also have you given nigori sake a try? Its an unfiltered sake, and is just slightly sweet, but not too much so.

  • I have had some unfiltered sakes. I like them, but only a little at a time. The sparkling sake wasn't good at all. I was barely able to finish one small cup :(

  • i think sakas pretty good :D i dont know alot about it but i do know its good to take small sips

  • it is very good.....but drink slowly!

  • i tryed saka (the unfiltered i think) and its pretty good

  • lol you guys are funny

  • wow!! Hakutsuru looks like a really great museum and tasting house....i haven't been there, but they are the largest brewer in Nada.

  • It is indeed the biggest, but I found that some of the other places had nicer gift shops/tastings!

  • how does sake taste like? is it like wine?beer?

  • Somewhat like a white wine. It's a bit stronger though. Some of it is really nice, but some isn't so nice!

  • i would like to try it but still not old enough to drink ^^;

  • That doesn't really stop a lot of people here in Japan...

    hehehe.

  • O_O thats crazy

  • I wish I could have some of that saki icecream.

  • Great vid. I'm not a big sake fan, but I think that's because I've never had high quality sake - usually just hot sake that's only meant to warm the belly... The sparkling sake actually sounds appealing.

Congrats on the partnership. Well deserved.

  • Yeah, the sparkling sake was actually quite nice. I wouldn't suggest ever having more than one glass at a time though! Thanks :)

  • I usually have more than one class... hmm.

    ;-p

  • This video makes me think of the great time I had wine tasting in California. Sake tasting must be great too.

  • I once went on a micro brewery tour in Toronto and that was great too. We were there in the off season as well so the bored staff seemed more than happy to serve us far more than they were supposed too :)

  • I'm glad you liked the video. Yes, I really like trying different foods and new things in Japan. It's a lot of fun!

  • Everyday is a beautiful day for drinking! Also, i must say damn ur lucky. I had to beg my girl to come to a winery and yours left you in the dust, ready for the free samples. I hate you, you lucky bastard... and yours is Asian I got a dumb blond. wtf, i am in the wrong country or what

  • I am a lucky guy, and she did leave us in the dust!!! hehe

  • yeah, she was so far ahead of you I didn't think we'd see her at all. So quick question, do korean or japanese chicks dig us (white guys) more? Also include the fact I am American... damn it, I want one too.

  • Ha ha nice vid. :D Sake means fun!

  • indeed it does ;)

  • Amazing Intro! Team up with PJ! CRAZY SAKE ADVENTURES! Jesus. I need to sit down.

  • I might just have to do that. I am pretty close to Kyoto!

  • Great introduction, Kevin!

  • Thanks! Good to see you back in Japan :)

  • hehe...I always keep everything under control. Especially if there's a camera there!

  • Very interesting, thanks!

  • Glad you liked it!

  • Great intro!

And good editing on the tour stuff! It really was an enjoyable afternoon. Thanks so much for inviting me.

  • yessir! I had a great afternoon. I suppose it would have even been more fun if we'd had the chance to visit one or two more! I suppose they'd have to cart us out in a wheelbarrow then!!

  • aw I didnt know you had a wife. :) you've never mentioned her.

    is she Japanese?

I love your videos! I want to go back to Tokyo! :(

  • Yep. I'm married to great Japanese lady. You Tube is my thing....she's a little camera-shy :)

pretty little lady you got there :)

  • Thanks a lot. Luckily we started early so we didn't miss it...hehe!

  • good dude your finally a youtube partner!

  • Yeah. Thanks a lot.

  • "Sparkling Sake"?....that's like "R&D fail"..."Sake ice cream"...Jello shots?

  • Surprisingly, the sparkling sake was alright. I can't imagine having more than a glass ofit though.

  • Yeah, I know...I know..."try it ya might like it"....but it seems such desperate measure an' passin' fancy...Seems downright idiotic when ya go ahead in mass producing a product that has such a limited margin of appeal...like, "Holiday Spice Pepsi"or "New Coke" ...I always thought solid buisness aimed at being more discretionary...even if they can afford such risks.

  • oooo i want to visit some of those breweries!

    woo hoo new intro!

    woo hoo youtube PARTNER!!

  • Glad you like the new intro :) The breweries were cool. There are about 12-15 of them. Wish we had more time to see another one....I suppose they're closeby!
