It seems as though you you have basically found a way to increase/decrease processing speed, so in affect the music gets faster and slower. I cant see it that well so I cant tell for sure but with my experiences with old computer games running on a machine that is too fast and having to use a program to slow the machine down that seems like what is going on here.
