In Greece we call ppl from island of lesvos mitilinios (males) and mitilinia (for females) since mitilini is the capital of the island. So there is no confusion of gay women with the inhabitants of lesvos.
BRAVO that's also a good way to deal with the conflict, especially because many people in Greece anyway call Lesvos Island by its capital name: "Mytilini". (Most Greek Islands have the same name as its capital.)

In Greece we call ppl from island of lesvos mitilinios (males) and mitilinia (for females) since mitilini is the capital of the island. So there is no confusion of gay women with the inhabitants of lesvos.
